Guest Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 "Sorry that this is so late but I was out most of the day. Anyway, as of late this afternoon, Steve Austin was not at Raw. Barring a late arrival, that would mean he would not be on tonight's show. If he is not, that would certainly seem to indicate a bigger problem with him and the company. If I were a cynic, I would start to wonder if there was a reason that the WWF announced a media blackout after he missed TV last week. " Dave Sherer 1wrestling.com Damn. It seems like these problems are getting serious.
Guest teke184 Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 I guess the Smark Sign of the Week will be "Austin Fears the Sharpshooter" because this is sounding more and more like the Bret Hart situation.
Guest The Masked Yodeler Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 I don't trust 1bob, but I wouldn't doubt that this is true. However, I won't believe until I hear it from Meltzer.
Guest Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 Dave Sherer is very reputable. Bob Ryder is the one you can't trust.
Guest dreamer420 Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 I hope that isn't true. Austin is still a very big part of the WWF and to lose him now would be horrible for the WWF.
Guest Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 Yeah. Austin is still the WWF's #1 draw and he still sells the most merchandise. Without him the WWF will lose alot of money. I don't see what the big problem is now. Austin didn't job to Hall, so why are there still problems?
Guest El Satanico Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 well Vince and Austin are probably the only ones that truly know what the problem is.
Guest godthedog Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 i still have faith that vince isn't stupid enough to lose the number one man in the company for the sake of saving face over middle-aged men who won't draw flies in 8 months anyway. austin will be there. if he isn't, i will (very unhappily) eat my words.
Guest notJames Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 He's probably just out renting a backhoe to finish burying Scott Hall's career. I think he'll be there... [... crosses fingers...]
Guest joshicho Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 Damn. This is gonna make the draft royally confusing to casual fans, as if it won't be confusing enough!
Guest Laizen Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 Damn! Imagine if Benoit had been healthy for WM18!!!! A healthy motivated Benoit + a healthy motivated Austin + 30-40+ mins = The best match since Flair+Steamboat at Chi-Town Rumble, WrestleWar, etc.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 And maybe, just maybe, Vince wouldn't have felt the need to bring in the nWo. *sigh* Hurry back Chris.
Guest Ihatesmarksandmarks Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 the smarks double standard continues....if this was HHH or hogan everyone would be throwing a hissy fit...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 3 days too late Ihatesmarksandmarks... Been seeing that exact statement from just about everyone. I love how its a Smarks double standard...as if everyone has the same opinion on this board... As an Austin fan, I was one of (if not the) first to criticize Austin when he was dogging it against Hall... So what does that prove? Am I a part of the smark double standard? Or can I just call a spade a spade?
Guest godthedog Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 well...being mentioned a lot in the show as a free agent gives me enough hope to see him in the near future. i just hope he goes to smackdown. god, do i ever hope he goes to smackdown.
Guest Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 Austin needs to be on Raw, badly. That show needs to have a HUGE star on it to get people to watch. I know UT is big and so is Kane, nWo, yadda yadda, but Austin can't be on Smackdown also. It's too packed with the top names already.
Guest Risk Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 I hope Austin does leave, because it would hurt the WWF. He could help out another promotion or HELP start a new one.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 If the stuff with Austin gets worked out, then he has to be on Raw. He probably will be since storyline wise (Although it seems to be happening for real) he hates Vince. If he went to Raw, then he's stuck with the nWo.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 he'll be on raw. raw's on cable which is better for the stone cold character since you can swear and be more violent on cable than you can on network tv.
