Clemens' next start will come in Detroit. Comerica Park will actually have fans for once.

The Yankees should move Weaver to the pen and let Contreas start. Weaver's been horrible, and may as well give Contreas a chance.

I think the Clemens hatred comes form teh fact that he said that he would only leave Boston to go to Texas to be closer to hom,e and then he signed a for more money than the Sox offered in TO and then went to the Evil Empire, which is a big no no if you want more than 17 people in Boston to like you. Couple that with his choke artist shit against the A's, tanking it for his last 4 years in Boston and then getting in shape and pitching to his abilities in TO, the Piazza deal, pussying out of big games, and tanking in many of the ones he pitched in (see Monday's game, Game 3 of the 99 ALCS in Boston, Pedro/Rocket #1, Playoff games vs. Oakland, etc...)

Heres an article that runs it down pretty well.

How did he tank Pedro/Rocket I? He gave up two runs in the ninth. 95% of the time, he would've earned a win.

Contreras has been pretty horrible himself. 14 hits, 10 walks and 11 earned runs in only 11 1/3 IP.

Oh he's been horrible. But unless I'm mistaken he hasn't started a game yet.

He's also pitched very well in his last few outings, meaning he might be turning the corner. Considering that Weaver has never panned out since arriving from Detroit, the Yanks might as well give their $32 million dollar man a chance.

I think the cracks in their armor were evident last year. The starting pitching is old, and prone to all the problems that go along with that. Their team speed isn't great, especially on defense. The Yankees are vulnerable to teams that can put the ball in play a lot, which is why Anaheim whipped them in the playoffs last year.

Losing Bernie Williams isn't going to help, either. He's a very patient hitter and a good run producer, and subtracting him from the middle of their lineup isn't going to help them right the ship.

That was Pedro/Rocket 2- Pedro Rocket 1 was game 3 of the ALCS- he gave up like what? 8 runs in 2 innings? THAT is indeed a tanking, shellacking, whacking, spanking, etc etc

The Yankees had a 3-0 lead in the series so essentially it didn't really matter to the Yankees if they won.

No, the Yankees only had a 2-0 lead. How can they have a 3-0 lead when it is only Game 3?

My bad. I should of said, it didn't matter because in the end the Red Sox can't beat the Yankees.

The Red Sox don't have alot of success against New York. More times than not the Yankees beat out the Red Sox.

As was already said that was Pedro/Roger II, the ESPN Sunday game. Roger had a great game, I think better than Pedro in Ks and then threw a fat fastball right down the middle and Noxon crushed it. Then Pedro loaded the bases with 2 hit batters and a single and still won the game without giving up a run, he got Tino to ground out to first or second to end it. Roger couldn't get it done. Then both he and Pedro copped out of the nest start and went on the DL.

Great game but Roger choked and Pedro didn't.
