Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Wake me up if Agassi reaches the final. Other than that, could care less.
Guest Russina Princess Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Agassi most likely won't reach the final, he's been far from dominant this clay court season. Anyway, I see you're a case of ESPNitis... you only like Agassi, because that's all they show.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 I only like Agassi because he's the only player that I care about.

Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Exactly. Men's tennis has not been very interesting to me since the Andre/Pete rivalry fizzled out... actually before than because Pete was kicking Andre's ass with boring regularity... Lleyton Hewitt is a prick, nuff said. Women's tennis is getting very boring as well, because Serena is so dominant right now.. the only way she loses nowdays is if she beats herself, and even then its no guarantee... Speaking of Serena, is she still undefeated?
Guest Russina Princess Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Serena has lost twice this year... to Justine Henin-Hardenne and Amelie Mauresmo. I didn't mean to insult you about the Agassi comment... but it's probably true. He is the only player the American channels have shown for the past decade. I'm a little biased on that, however, since I take much more of a liking to the Women's game.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 There was a stretch when they showed Pete more because he was beating everyone into submission. People are smitten with Agassi because he is still playing good tennis in his mid-thirties, and he's married to Steffi graf and they've had one child with a second on the way. For awhile I thought the women's game was more interesting because you had personalities...you had Hingis verbally feuding with the Williams sisters when they started kicking her ass with regularity, to the point where she had to retire because her hurt herself trying to keep up with them physically... the men's game is very bland... the only hope for it in my eyes is Andy Roddick, but he needs to get consistent first. He's still plays too much out of control. But as john McEnroe said in an interview, tennis as a sport needs to lighten up and let the players be people, not just athletes. Guest starvenger Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Serena has lost twice this year... to Justine Henin-Hardenne and Amelie Mauresmo. There's no shame in losing to either, but the scary part is that it'll probably make her better. And a hella-dominant Serena Williams is NOT a good thing for tennis. I'm hoping that James Blake can break through and win a major. And Greg Rusedski can STILL go to hell...
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Serena has a triangle choke hold on the women's division. And she's only what, 22? And would I tap that. HARD. Anna who? There hasn't been any one player that has come out of the men's division and just set the world on fire, you know, to *make* you interested in men's tennis... they need another fiery guy, like a McEnroe or a Nastase to fire people up, polarize their views on him, but most importantly to get them to start watching again. Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Speaking of Agassi, what a comeback today, from down 2 sets and a break in the third to win 5-7, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2, 7-5. He looked dead and buried for awhile there.

Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 29, 2003 What happened to Michael Chang? He went from being the #2 player in the world to a scrub who can’t even get past more than 2 rounds anymore.
