Guest Nanks Report post Posted May 28, 2003 They're coming down for shows 31 July, 1 & 2 August. RAW only shows. No Nathan Jones. I'm not even sure he'd get the home country pops. Only the smarks and internet marks know who he is. And as soon as he started to "wrestle" (loose use of the word) the crowd would be largely disinterested. P.S. Downhome, the red X of Doom is haunting your sig too.
Guest hydroapple Report post Posted May 28, 2003 >I don't think he signed a long term--TBS and MH were signed fairly young (and they still are very young). This is Lkdg32 under a random user name. I don't know how you can go from fairly young to very young in years. But anyhow, Big Show and Mark Henry are not young (to be young you must be under 28), they are prime. Big Show is 30 and Mark Henry is 31 (28-32 is prime, 33+ you decline).

I don't think Jones was signed to a long-term contract. I think Vince knew that he was either going to be a big sucess or self-destruct. Is there any truth to the rumor that Jones threatened to quit because he wanted a better position in the company?

Knowing your prime theory and even accepting it under most circumstances, one would have to admit that The Big Show does not fit into the normal bell curve that your typical wrestler would. It's pretty obvious that he hit his highest point back in 1996 or so while he was still realitively in shape and not bogged down by both his genetic predisposition and weight gain. Mark Henry is also a little hard to fit into the curve since its like he's only actually been in competition for like two years of actually wrestling with a whole lot of time there where he's off the road. But with him, I just think his prime is just really, really terrible anyway so it doesn't much matter.

Its not my prime theory, its THE prime law. 28-32 is prime, but there are exceptions which I mentioned in the past in other prime topics on here. Major injuries, a major disease, drugs, and just not trying are exceptions to prime. Big Show had a major disease, giantism. Big Show got treatment to stop his giantism in 1999 I believe, so from 1995 - 1999 as the years went by for him in wrestling, he got in worse shape. Big Show also hasn't been caring. After his giantism was stopped he was sent to OVW because he was getting way too out of shape. >Mark Henry is also a little hard to fit into the curve since its like he's only actually been in competition for like two years of actually wrestling with a whole lot of time there where he's off the road. Henry's fits into the 28-32 curve, he really really sucked in the late 90s, in 2002 he was somewhat less sucky (due to him being in his prime), but he still sucked.
