Guest Hulkamania Fan Report post Posted May 28, 2003 I have been waiting for this match for a long time and now at Bad Blood we will see HBK vs Flair. the icon vs the sow stopper. This match will have fans on the edge of their seats because its like a dream match come true. Well it is for me. I think the Wwe will let HBk go over Flair but I think Ric Flair should win. I will put a poll in the voting section so vote there for who will win.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted May 28, 2003 They've already done HBK v. Flair before so I'm not too hyped up to see it.
Guest Hulkamania Fan Report post Posted May 28, 2003 No HBK has never had a match with Ric Flair one on one. This is their first match in history.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted May 28, 2003 No it is not. Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels had a match in November of 1991- It went about 10 minutes and Flair got the win
Guest Hulkamania Fan Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Look they have never had a match thats why when Flair & HBK had some interviews in the past they said we have never crossed paths. This match never happened. If you think it has happened then tell me when you seen it and which show.
Guest The Bad Guy Report post Posted May 28, 2003 No HBK has never had a match with Ric Flair one on one. This is their first match in history. As was stated earlier, indeed they have fought. The match is commercially available on Coliseum Video's "Invasion 92" tape.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted May 28, 2003 It's on the Coliseum video Invasion 92. Ric Flair (w/Mr. Perfect) v. Shawn Michaels The belt is video distorted. Lord Alfred explains the difference between a manager and executive consultant. This is prob sometime in Nov 1991. This is the one and only time Ric Flair and Shawn met in the ring. Lockup- HBK gets a headlock and takes him down. Another headlock. Lockup- Flair with a headlock. Flair takes him down but gets armdragged twice and pinned for two. HBK with a headlock. Flair backs him into a corner and chops away. Flair misses a blind charge and HBK gets a top-rope sunset flip for two. HBK with a headlock. Flair acts all cocky so HBK slaps him and Flair bails. Back in- Flair and HBK trade chops. HBK suplexes him on the apron, Flair begs off. Flair thumbs the eye. Slugfest- HBK wins and gets a backdrop. Flair kicks him and we get a Flair flip. On the outside HBK jaws with Perfect and catches Flair and gives him a suplex on the outside. Back in- Flair nails him and throws him out. HBK comes back in with a sunset flip. Flair nails him and does a Flair flop. Flair blocks a rollup but gets dropkick. Perfect trips HBK allowing a Flair kneedrop. Slugfest- HBK wins but eats foot on a blind charge. Flair goes up top but gets slammed down. Elbow-two. Superkick and a top-rope fist get two. HBK clotheslines him out. He flies out after him but Flair moves and HBK goes into steel. Perfect takes a shot at HBK so Jannetty comes down to help his friend looking really baked. Pinky and well Pinky talk about dissension between the Rockers. Marty throws HBK back in where he is Flair pinned. Ain’t that a bitch. Match kicked major ass. I wonder how good this match could’ve been with them in their primes. ****
Guest Hulkamania Fan Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Sorry just looked it up and you guys are right they had a match once before. When i said have they ever had a match I meant on Tv not a house show. Should a pick up a copy of Invasion 92? Is it any good? Whats Flair vs HBK like?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Invasion 92 has Flair v. Bret as well (Possibly their first ever match) so it's a must-see tape IMO.
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Sorry to keep bursting your bubble but the match did indeed air on television, on one of their syndicated shows. It mostly served to establish the riff between Shawn and Marty which led to the Rockers breakup not long after. And they really should put the match on the dvd when it comes out. Guest The Bad Guy Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Invasion 92 is widely considered to be one of the absolute best Coliseum Videos released. If you can obtain a copy then do so.
Guest Hulkamania Fan Report post Posted May 28, 2003 I will go into town today and try and order it in but I dont think I can because its a Wwf video. There is the shop which sells old Wwe tapes and they might have it. I want to see HBK vs Flair and Bret Hart vs Ric Flair. All Bret Hart vs Ric Flair matches have been good. Guest EternallyLazy Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Invasion '92 is awesome but only for Bret/Flair and Shawn/Flair... the rest of the tape is trash, ESPECIALLY the fucking lame ass Star Trek theme of the entire tape... we're talking 80's porn bad from the acting to the production values. B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Let's talk about the upcoming match. Judging by the performance flair put on last week against HHH, the guy is still God. And we al know that Shawn can still work. Anyone think this could be ****+? Of course, it won't save the PPV from sucking balls.

And we al know that Shawn can still work. Anyone think this could be ****+? Of course, it won't save the PPV from sucking balls. It could be... but it won't. The WWE will figure out ways to make the match a total mess. If they give them twenty minutes with no interference and a clean finish, it could be a classic... sadly, it will never happen. Flair lately has had his moments, but for the most part, you never know when he's going to bust out a really good match. Just when you think he's done, he shocks us all. Shawn on the other hand, while maybe not the same performer as he once was, is still very good and consistent... I don't think I've seen a bad match from him since his return (aside from this weeks RAW) I say the match will be around ***1/2 although it wouldn't shock me if they reach the four star level
Guest jm29195 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Hulkamania fan has just been chucked off uk fan forums (ukff.com) for starting stupid topics and insulting everyone, wait till he really gets going, it's rather funny to watch his remarks and hollow arguements fall flat..... Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Flair/HBK has always been a match I wanted to see on a grander scale then a Commercial video. I have been pushing for Flair/Shawn since Flair's Promo on him in December... I really believe that these two whom each respect the fuck out of each other and want to put on a show. Shawn save for the Debacle of Armageddon and his Raw matches has been SPOT ON for his Singles Matches on PPV (**** at Slam and ****1/2 at WM)...Yes I know I am biased towards the WM match because I hadn't marked like that in years... Flair hasn't had an GRAND match since arriving at WWE, His match with Jericho was disapointing considering our expectations... Flair/Austin is grand in the historic sense (almost was Austin's last match) but it was only ***. However...It's Ric Fucking Flair and The Heartbreak Kid. I have absolute belief that this will go ****+.
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted May 28, 2003 i enjoyed their exchanges at Backlash, so i predict this will be a good match between them
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted May 28, 2003 It will be an amazing match, wont save the show but it will be at least highlight of the night. And I cant wait to see how this hulkamania fan turns out, hey buddy...bring yourself to NHB.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted May 29, 2003 michaels will DEFINITELY bring his A-game, this is the chance of a lifetime for him. flair i'm not so sure about. while i didn't see his match with trips, he's disappointed me quite a bit in the ring since coming back. his match with EDDIE~! last year flat-out sucked...both his matches with jericho have left a lot to be desired...and a tag match he had a while ago with trips against rvd and someone else was one of the worst men's matches of the year; he was blowing spots left & right, just trying frantically to keep up. so, i'd honestly be surprised if it went above ***. shawn's been good with the epic match where there's 20 near-falls with a minute of selling the fatigue between each fall. flair's only done really short matches. i don't see it working. Guest jester Report post Posted May 29, 2003 From Keith's rant on Raw, on the subject of "Flair and HBK have never crossed paths": Fun with JR: He says that this is the first time Flair & Shawn are teaming up, although they teamed up 12 years ago against Bret Hart & Randy Savage. Normally that would be forgivable, but he CALLED THE MATCH. Then, he points out that Shawn Michaels is the first “Triple Crown” champion, which was actually Bret Hart, but he probably meant “Grand Slam” champion (with the European title), so fine again. Then finally, he says that last week was the first time HHH & Flair ever met, but the thing that HHH was harping about in his interview, about how he kicked Flair in the ass six months ago, was HHH beating Flair in a one-on-one match in his first defense of the fake World title! Guest Kamui Report post Posted May 29, 2003 If they give it time and let it develop, Shawn-Flair will be another **** like HBK-Jericho at Wrestlemania 19. That match proved to me that Shawn can work an actual wrestling match still (I thought the brawls with HHH were to cover up Shawn's ring rust, but they were more for HHH's benefit than Shawn's). As a huge HBK mark, I'm very happy to get to see Shawn in as many pure wrestling matches as possible before he finally retires for good. And Flair can certainly carry himself as well. So, prediction? This match will rule. -Duo

Guest Space_Cowboy Report post Posted May 29, 2003 Both Flair and HBK are broken-down shells of their former selves, but they'll still smoke anything else the WWE puts on the PPV shitfest, even well past their primes they'll no doubt put on a good match, probablky around *** level. If both of them are on i could definately see it getting towards ****, though it'll depend how much time they're given.
