The fact that people actually have the time to create gimmicks for a message board really baffles me.
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 ok, going off topic in a conversation and going off topic with the specific purpose of disrupting the conversation at hand (trolling) are two different things entirely. there was no double standard. dames will clarify this in his list of rules. as for gimmick posters, it is subjective. that is why we have mods and admins here to determine what is fit and what isn't.

I had admitted I was straying from the topic and that I was unfamiliar with what the topic was. I just felt that while it didn't contribute to the original topic, it was something to point out. I have seen a few other posters making comments for no reason other than to try and be funny, when they are just disrupting conversation. I don't think I can be compared to them, and that's why I found Mr. Rant's comments towards me uncalled for. I'm not trying to be a bitch to him, but he had no valid reason to compare me to a troublemaking poster. -Tiff

Trolling is, I think most will agree, a massively annoying gimmick or attempt at disrupting a conversation for the pure purpose of pissing everyone off. If anything, Tiff's been setting people straight and I have zero problem with that. I'm surprised at you, Rant. Your stance seems a little pointless to me, especially even when Banky has spoken up and pointed out that he's a much bigger "troll" than Tiff could ever be. And, Bankster, I mean that in the best way possible. I see you as more of an anti-troll. A loveable icon of the board more than a malicious jackass.

Despite my joking around with her (which was indeed just joking around), I've yet to see her troll or seek attention unwarrantedly. She has better grammar and spelling than alot of the people who come here, AND she makes coherent points. Attention whore my arse.

I've started one thread, which was actually suggested for me to do so that the other thread didn't get stuffed with posts unrelated to the original discussion. Yet AM The Kid, you think I want everyone's undivided attention. While I hope to be viewed as a friendly member of the board, I'm not going to lose sleep if people don't find me to be interesting.
