Tyson Says Being Labeled a Rapist a Burden on Him

'Now I Really Do Want to Rape'

Mike Tyson hasn't lost his penchant for saying the outrageous.

 

In a television interview scheduled for broadcast Thursday, Tyson again denied he raped Desiree Washington in 1991 in an Indianapolis hotel room. But he said the burden of being labeled a convicted rapist makes him want to do it now.

 

"I just hate her guts. She put me in that state, where I don't know,'' Tyson said. "I really wish I did now. But now I really do want to rape her.''

 

Tyson made the comments during a recent interview in Miami Beach with Greta Van Susteren, who was taking a look back at the circumstances of Tyson's 1992 trial that ended with him convicted of rape and sentenced to six years in prison.

 

He served three years of the sentence before being released on parole.

 

A call for comment to Tyson's adviser, Shelly Finkel, was not immediately returned.

 

The interview will be shown Thursday night (9 ET) on 'The Pulse' on the Fox network.

The last remaining shred of sympathy I had for Tyson has evaporated. The fact that he thinks "hey, I got convicted of rape, so I may as well have commited it" just shows exactly what type of person he is.

He is a complete noob, and I don't respect him at all - but I pay to watch him fight. I cheer for him. The guy is entertaining in a business centered around entertainment. Had he actually raped her, thats a different story. The aspects I get a true kick out of is the tattoo on his face, the comment about liking to hang out with his kids and doing drugs, and especially giving lap dances to strippers.

But thats exactly why Tyson is marketable. That is the image his promoters push. People want to see him get the living shit kicked out of him. I'd like to see him become World Heavyweight Champion of the World again. Why? Because we'd get to hear more about his outlandish antics.

Tyson, despite all the noted problems, will still watch pigeons on the rooftops in Harlem. Boy, that must be a surreal sight. Sadly enough for him, it's one of the far too rare peaceful moments.

 

Mike could have had it all. If you ever get the chance, find or download 'Mike Tyson's greatest hits' (an HBO special from 1988), the download I had of thing was the first 8 minutes, but it went over Tyson with Cus, how Cus adopted him and Tyson saw him as a father-figure. Then he went on, eventually losing Cus in 1985 and having to go on.

 

Make no doubt about it, if any of you had the chance to talk to Mike Tyson, and you weren't rude to him, i'm sure a good conversation would result. He seems like a friendly guy as long as you don't come in to try and anger him or order him around.

I personally don't think he did it either, my own theory on what happened is that they had consensual sex and then she decided to trap him or blackmail him and when he said no, she started he ball rolling to get him convicted.

 

If I remember the case right, quite some time had passed between that night and when she called the authorities... but she made a sympathetic figure, and Mike was already starting to unravel by that point... combine that with a couple of other things working against Mike, and boom... three year jail sentence.

 

Everything that has happened to him afterwards is the result of his own unbalanced mind and the horrible advice of the people around him, not to even mention being financially fleeced by Don King... and even then I have to point the finger back at Mike, because of the insane Michael Jackson-type of life that he was living.

 

I may not have grown up in the ghetto all my life, but I was close enough to it to know that once you get the money and ability to get out, you ran away from it as fast as you could and you lifed your lifestyle as much of an opposite from your upbringing as you could, whether you could afford it or not.

 

The long this goes on, the sadder and more distressing it is.

I don't condone anyone talking about trying to rap esomeone, but come on people. Anything that Tyson says (no matter how stupid it may seem) is going to be put in a bad light and run into the ground, that's just the way things go. Being a convicted rapist and a rapist are two different things. Desiree Washington had already falsely accused someone of raping her (her high school boyfriend) when she thought she was pregnant. That case was swept under the rug by her lawyers and no one ever heard about it again. Every time someone wants to say something bad about Tyson, the fact that he is a convicted rapist is their smoking gun. He didn't rape her and it's bullshit that he went to jail for it. If any of you guys were falsely convicted of anything where it's your word against someone else's, I'm sure you would be bitter about it too.

Evidence suggests that Tyson didnt rape her in the first place...and in a brand new interview several jurors are stating that had they been presented evidence that had been hidden by prosecutors the verdict would have been different.

 

The guy spent some of his prime years in prison for a rape he probably didnt commit....

 

now I know that most of you guys here have led pretty sheltered lives and dont really get things too often that are on this hardcore level...but you must know that prison aint cool...and if you spent your time there for no good reason it would probably piss you off.

 

I dont know if Id rape her for real but christ Id say some harsh shit too if this had happened to me.

The fact that Desiree accused her H.S boyfriend who was a star football player at the time for rape, and plus Tyson couldn't even get a good lawyer to help his case. So I understand what Tyson saying imo it sounded like: "I went to prison for nothing, I might as well have raped her."
