May 22, 2003 - Despite widespread scoffing, plans for Street Fighter 2 seem to be moving ahead. There's more news today on the rumored sequel to Jean-Claude Van Damme's oft-maligned actioner. Just days ago, word surfaced that muscleman actor Dolph Lundgren might be coming out of retirement to star opposite Van Damme in the video-game based movie. Too delightfully cheesy to be true? Who knows... The genre fansite Kung Fu Cinema (the same site that broke the Lundgren news) has received word that actor Damian Chapa is likely to return in the role of Ken Masters. The site credits KOBTV as the source of the tip. We aren't holding our breath for this flick (is anyone?), but there certainly seems to be some movement on the project. Van Damme has supposedly been putting the project together himself. He's rumored to have met with Australian pop sensation Holly Valance about stepping into the role of Cammy. -- Brian Linder Does this mean we'll get to see Bison tell Guile "I will break you"? However, the last line makes me jump for absolute joy, because Cammy is the coolest Street Fighter character ever. BTW, for those who don't know, that's what Holly Valance looks like. It's kind of like deja vu, though, because in the first movie, Cammy was also played by a different Aussie pop sensation, one who's name has popped up many times on this board system...
