Guest the holy grail Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I've seen many bands but getting the oppurtunity to see Madness at their last Madstock gig was amazing. 60,000 people all going insane and having a really good time, not forgetting the reggae bands on before them, Desmond Decker is still the man
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 The same with me seeing Radiohead at South Park, Oxford. A hometown gig in front of 70,000+ and the band on top of there game. What dreams are made of.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 KISS definetly lived up to the hype. They just go all out, the fans appreciate it and you can tell they appreciate the fans. Just simply dazzling. As sleepers, I thoroughly enjoyed shows I've seen by Blue Oyster Cult and Rare Earth.
Guest The Metal Maniac Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Iron Maiden's performance at Rock in Rio was mind-blowing. 250,000 can't be wrong.
Guest mesepher Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 As sleepers, I thoroughly enjoyed shows I've seen by Blue Oyster Cult and Rare Earth. I would have to say from the official live recordings and the bootlegs I have of BOC... they have definitely aged very, very, VERY well! I've seen them twice live... excellent stuff all around. Last Days of May is over the top. The (semi)new live DVD is worth checking out if you've never heard much from the Cult, you won't be disappointed.
Guest godthedog Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 ween. georgia theater, 3 hour gig, 10-minute version of "voodoo lady" that segued into "kiss." awesome, awesome show.
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 alice fucking cooper. i have seen him twice and no one else blends thatrics with the music better. the man is a true performer.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Dying Fetus, as well as Dillinger Escape Plan and Tool. All three bands were everything I'd hoped they would be live, and then some. DF was basically one gargantuan act of violence by a bunch of maniacs in a relatively small venue as hot as a furnace, not to mention the fact that their music is way more enjoyable in that kind of environment.
Guest JAxlMorrison Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Well when I saw Summer Sanitarium a couple years ago, Kid Rock stole the show. Especially when he does this gimmick where he plays every instrument........good stuff. And The Who! At 50 plus years old, Townshend and Daltrey move around like they are in their 20s. Daltrey's voice hasn't lost anything, and Townshend's guitar playing was some of the best I have ever heard.
Guest mesepher Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 And The Who! At 50 plus years old, Townshend and Daltrey move around like they are in their 20s. Daltrey's voice hasn't lost anything, and Townshend's guitar playing was some of the best I have ever heard. Indeed, those two really ripped it up last year. Townshend was definitely pissed off and on a mission and it showed! Excellent tour! on the other hand, when I saw the Who-wannabes (Pearl Jam) this year... ugh, what a disaster.
Guest BANKYWOOD Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Goldfinger. The are poppy punky poop. But their live shows are amazing.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Oh, and Flipp is also one of the greatest live acts I've ever seen. Black Label Society is really good live, contrary to popular belief in these parts. Rob Zombie is a GOD live.
Guest JAxlMorrison Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I also saw a great Guns N Roses show last December in Philly........oh wait, Axl didn't show up. And they still haven't come up with a reason why, or made any sort of statement. It's been almost 6 months too. Sad part is, I would try to see them again, and I will probably buy the new album if it ever comes out.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Also, the mighty IKARA COLT.
Guest Choken One Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 In terms of Surprise and Shock... CREED was the best concert I witnessed...
Guest HellSpawn Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 (edited) Im biased but... Still think Im objective. KISS at the Reunion tour. That was not an Awesome performance, that was THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE Eeeeeeeeeeeever. Songs, Explotions, Show, near 2 hours and a half. Best show I've been. Of course, I missed U2 (8 years ago), Paul McCartney and Clapton's concerts. Edited June 3, 2003 by HellSpawn
Guest the holy grail Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 I would love to see Meatloaf, apparently he puts on a hell of a show, biggest regret also was not seeing Queen live

Guest NoCalMike Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 The hype I experienced going into the Dying Fetus concert was only matched by the concert itself. When they started playing, it was like a lightswitch went off in everyone's head and ultra-violence on the floor ensued. I never left a venue so damn happy I had made the trip. Wow, I can't wait to see them again.
Patty O'Green Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 I saw Ja Rule in concert and he lived up to his reputation of extreme crappiness. Same for Kris Kross. In fact Kris Kross was so bad that I didn't go to another concert for eight years! On the flip side I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Nelly Furtado and live. And Mary J. Blige. Her performance of "No more drama" nearly had me in tears.
Guest gangsteruwa Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Dillinger Escape Plan at Monsterfest in Burlington, VT. Holy fucking shit was that insane. The guitarists stage dove while still playing. Their bass player amost got decapitated by a flying guitar. The singer spit a huge fucking fire ball. There was a naked guy stage diving. Pure fucking insanity. They are the best live band I have ever seen. The pit sucked because it was just a bunch of poser hardcore kids doing their retarded dancing. Other notable bands: ICP (I've never seen so many people drenched in cheap soda in my life) Converge (Same show as DEP. They told jokes in between songs and made fun of people in the crowd..good shit)
Guest notJames Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 The Descendents When I saw All play in '93, I felt that even though they rocked the house, I could only imagine what they were like when Milo was the frontman. When I finally got to see Milo back with the band at the Warped Tour '97 (?), my feelings were solidified. He truly made the other guys kick it up 1000 notches.

I actually got to see the Descendents SECOND show back together, in Ft Collins CO. Like you said, it met and exceeded every expectation that I would have had. And b/c I knew one of the organizers I got to go backstage (which was just a fenced in area in the back of the bar, but the point is that I was like 5 feet from Milo and Bill ... I was way to chickenshit to say anything more than great show). It hasn't happened yet, but I hear that Ginn is going to get Black Flag back for a tour - with all the vocalists except Henry (so it'll be just be the good ones) ... if that comes to fruition it will be insane.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 I have to say, when I went to see Mr. WK I was like 'I'll still love the shit out of him, but he's probably gonna suck.' He didn't suck. I was near to tears of joy. He'd better come back for the second album.
