rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Well, I haven't started a thred for a while, so i thought I'd do this. Basically, which artists do the best Music videos. The type of ones which you love to watch, even if you don't really love the artist. Off the top of my head: Aphex Twin Bjork Fatboy Slim Beastie Boys Discuss
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 The Misfits Type O Negative MICHAEL JACKSON
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Peter Gabriel ZZ Top Robert Palmer Madonna Duran Duran
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted May 31, 2003 Author Report Posted May 31, 2003 Yeah, Michael Jackson is a damn good call. Also, Sum 41. If it wasn't for their videos, I'd hate them.
Guest razazteca Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Busta Rhymes Jewel and all of the T n A acts that she mocked in the new video.
Guest DawnBTVS Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Bjork easy...her videos are just so out there and yet so cool too
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Sum 41's video for the Hell Song kicks all sorts of ass. And also the one with Will Sasso where they mock the Vines and White Stripes. So yah Sum 41. Michael Jackson too. And Nas always has good ones.
Guest Memphis Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Been said before - MJ makes the greatest film clips bar none. No competition. M
Guest spiny norman Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 I like Michael Jackson, but sometimes I feel his film clips are repeats of the one before. He often re-uses dance moves, and there are only so many times you can see him Moonwalk before it gets a little blase. I think Madonna, personally.
Guest CanadianChick Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I dunno why, but I've always liked the Red Hot Chilli Peppers' videos.
Guest SweetNSexyDiva Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Offspring has some crazy funny videos!
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I've always thought Jay Z does decent Videos.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Nobody has mentioned them, so I'll say it: TOOL.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I'd have to say Michael Jackson does the best over all. My single favorite video ever is Aphex Twin's Windowlicker, and most everything else he's done is top notch. Sabotage is one of my favorite videos of all time too, so I'll mention the Beastie Boys. Skinny Puppy also has some good ones.
Guest kane3212321 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 MJ no one even comes close to the awesomeness that is Thriller.
Guest JAxlMorrison Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Sweet Christ people, you gotta say GNR........other then "Since I Don't Have You" all their videos have been pretty much top notch. Especially "Estranged", my pick for #1 video of all time.
Guest Mr. Adam Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I gotta put a vote in for the Beastie Boys. I have the Criterion DVD of their videos and even without 'Fight For Your Right' it's still a whomp ass DVD. Notable examples being Body Movin', Intergalactic and Sabotage of course.
Guest BANKYWOOD Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I gotta put a vote in for the Beastie Boys. I have the Criterion DVD of their videos and even without 'Fight For Your Right' it's still a whomp ass DVD. Notable examples being Body Movin', Intergalactic and Sabotage of course. Agreed. The DVD hauls!
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 nirvana tool metallica ("ONE" is so wicked.
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I gotta put a vote in for the Beastie Boys. I have the Criterion DVD of their videos and even without 'Fight For Your Right' it's still a whomp ass DVD. Notable examples being Body Movin', Intergalactic and Sabotage of course. Agreed. The DVD hauls! You know, that DID always annoy the fuck out of me. I have the DVD... but does anyone know why they chose to leave out "Fight For Your Right"? But yeah, Beastie Boys and Michael Jackson are definitely up there, and the Chili Peppers always bring the goods. "Give It Away" and "Around the World" are top-notch, and everything else is very good, too. Oh, and hey, this thread needs some Weird Al love. "Smells Like Nirvana" is a beautiful, beautiful masterpiece of a video.
Guest razazteca Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Thom York no matter what band he is in the animated videos kick ass. Radiohead Gorillas U.N.K.L.E. ?
Guest redbaron51 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Tool Michael Jackson Weird Al Sum 41 Foo Fighters Tenacious D
Guest Vyce Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Nobody has mentioned them, so I'll say it: TOOL. I'm surprised they weren't given props in the very first post. Tool OWNS every other artist video-making ass.
Guest Eagan469 Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Foo Fighters dude, it's alright to pimp INXS here I have the video with all the "Kick" songs. Innovative stuff, to say the least.
