Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 1, 2003 For the record, I "knew" Zach before he wrestled with TNA, and before he was signed by World Wrestling Entertainment. I heard about him months ago, and researched the guy, and finally found his website and everything. From there I found his email address, and his AIM name. I chatted with the guy quite offten for a few months, talking about wrestling and everything, he's a great guy. I even bought his "Best Of" wrestling tape from him personally. Anyway, once he signed with WWE, I didn't hear from him...untill tonight. He IM'd me out of nowhere tonight, and we had a conversation. I'm not going to post everything, because it was some things that were just between us (how we're both doing, etc...) so I'll just share what he told me that you guys would care to hear about. Also, we set up for me to do a professional interview with him on the phone in the upcoming weeks, and I'll post that as soon as we finish that up. Anyway, here are a few tidbits for now. Remember, this isn't an "interview" I had with him, it was just us catching up, and then my asking him a few things I was currious about. In case you don't know, I'm Brent, heh... 1) Brent --- I was very proud of you when I saw you on SD with you know who, I can't imagine how emotional that had to be for you. Zach --- yeah, for sure...it was truely a dream come true 2) Brent --- I'm sure it was, you are a huge story man. Has anyone approached you for your "story" yet? Zach --- yeah, it's going to be a fun ride. i've gotten some offers form hollywood, but nothing serious 3) Brent --- You aren't but what, 20 now? Zach --- yup 4) Brent --- How long are you on board for as of right now? Zach --- lol, can't say but we are in it for the long haul...i signed a multi year deal 5) Brent --- I assume this angle will climax with you finally getting in the ring either with/against Hogan in some way. I'm telling you man, you could be a huge freaking heel, I see it all over you on the screen. Zach --- i dunno how its going to end to be honest, we'll have to wait and see....i wouldn;t mind being a heel 6) Brent --- Have you worked with anyone in WWE yet, as in training, etc...? Zach --- yeah, i've rolled around with regal, finlay, ultimo, spanky, charlie hass.....its been fun 7) Brent --- That's awesome, too bad about Regal's little deal here lately though so I've heard. Zach --- regal seems fine, he;s taking bumps and everthing, he;ll be back soon 8) Brent --- And finally, are the boys backstage accepting of you thus far? Zach --- yeah, everybody's been totally cool with me ...I just thought some of these tidbits would interest a few of you, as I found a few to be pretty cool. I'll post the interview once we complete it, you know I will. Also, if any of you have anything you'd like for me to ask him specificly, then let me know! Sincerely, ...Downhome... Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted June 1, 2003 That's pretty damn cool. Him as a heel would be...interesting...that's for sure.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 1, 2003 That's pretty damn cool. Him as a heel would be...interesting...that's for sure. He already has all of the smug, cocky looks down. I think his personality and whatnot is just perfect for a heel. Just imagine him being a heel, suckering in the "kind" faces, and then taking advantage of them by cheating or something. Imagine what he could say after beating a face, seeing how he has only one leg. I think the crowd could get REALLY behind him. Or heck, play something up where he DEMANDS sympathy or something. It could be really awesome. I pray to God that he turns on Hogan in order to secure a job in WWE with Vince McMahon, I would mark out so hard over that. Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I can't picture an underdog as a heel ever. it would be liek trying to picture Spike Dudley as a heel. I just can't do it. Plus, I can't see Zack Gowan being booked as anything but an underdog

Guest The Decadent Slacker Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Dude thats awesome! People like me need people like you to live vicariously through, you know Anyway, would it be possible to get like a shoot interview out of him? I mean, stuff coming from the new guy in the company as it pretains to guys like Jones, HHH, all the favorites. I realize that he won't want to jeopardize his new lucrative job, but hell, it's not like chances like that pop up all the time, you know? But yeah, i just am curious to hear the opinons of this current...guy. Again, really cool.

Garth 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Thats sweet that you've got to talk to him, and are getting to talk to him to do a proper interview. I've talked to Steve Corino via Aim once but this was quite a while ago before iwas a fully fledged smark so didn't ask any really good questions.
Guest Addy Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I spoke to Trish on AIM once. I asked her if she was looking forward to meeting Mr. Perfect at the Royal Rumble and she signed out
Guest Ram Report post Posted June 1, 2003 He'd probably do better as a heel. As is, he looks like a douche as a face.
Guest WhenDanSaysJump Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Z using his own leg as a weapon would OWN ALL.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Maybe since Z seems internet-savvy, you should point him into the direction of this site. He can have his own sub-folder and we could ask him all kinds of our dumbass questions. But yeah, the Zster as a heel would give him a much more interesting role, and not be a paint-by-numbers underdog/handicap role.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted June 1, 2003 The problem with pointing him here is that if Vinnie Mac found out, it could possibly hurt Zach more than anything else. If he could do it and not get bitched at over it, it would be cool.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted June 1, 2003 If nothing else, he could always just browse around or take an odd screename so no one would know who he is. I'd like to think Vince doesn't feel too threatened by a forum like this, but eh, ya never know.
Guest the holy grail Report post Posted June 1, 2003 All the best to the guy, its gonna be something totally different to what wrestling fans are used to and hopefully people will enjoy it. I know for sure i will.
Guest EternallyLazy Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I spoke to Trish on AIM once. I asked her if she was looking forward to meeting Mr. Perfect at the Royal Rumble and she signed out I spoke to her for an hour, and in the first 30 minutes of the conversation we talked about sex ... I wish... but we talked about the next best thing. Kevin Smith movies

Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I'm not surprised. It's kinda funny to hear some people say "Vince will just look at Z having one leg and exploit it" but would anyone really care about him if he didn't? He's your typical indy wrestler minus a leg. I'm happy he got a job because he can do stuff any normal lightweight can do but he has one leg. Aside from that, congrats to him, it's a job.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I admire the kid's guts, I really do. But watching him work is.... Gimme the heebie jeebies. I watched the TNA stuff just so I don't freak out and flip away when they finally use him in the ring.
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted June 1, 2003 i dont see how a guy with 1 leg can be heel since he'll always look like an underdog
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted June 1, 2003 i dont see how a guy who flips people off can be face since he'll always look like an asshole Fixed.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Gowan could be a GREAT heel...For some reason he convays Heelness more then he does Faceness.. I'm all for WWE trying to sell a Heel One Legged Wrestler...
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted June 1, 2003 But how do you build heat from beating on a guy with one leg. Its like dancing in front of a guy in a wheelchair.
