So you just too some moron's word as truth? Did you miss EVERYONE saying that it came out last week or something?

Got me, but the guy said they didn't have it and I looked all around the store and in Suncoast. So, I guess it comes out around me on the 3rd. Whatever, it isn't a big deal.

Anyone who buys DVDs at Suncoast, FYE or Sam Goody's obviously has money to burn.

Do you not have a Best Buy, Circuit City or Wal-Mart in your area?

No Best Buy or Circuit City. Wal-Mart wasn't selling the DVD.

The closest Best Buy is about 45 minutes away, and Circuit City is in Naples, a good 35 minutes away. Or, Suncoast is about a 3 minute walk from where I work and doesn't cost me in extra gas (which I can barely afford)

:D

So in other words you are lazy? ;)

Oh, don't get me started

Oh my God, thank you for saying that, seriously. I've been trying to think of what the "catchphrase" was in an SNL skit I saw once that I hated so much, and you just reminded me after weeks of trying to remember!

You guys know that BestBuy.com has free shipping?

The site says It's a limited time deal, but it returns frequently so don't worry. Just make sure you read the info on the offer.

No, I don't :(

And raptor... Man with a Movie Camera... worst movie ever? Wha?

That's actually my "would buy" release of the week...but I'm also somewhat interested in early Soviet cinema and "city films". Which reminds me...anyone have any concrete info on Criterion's supposed upcoming release of Eisenstein - The Silent Years? It's been delayed for a few years, and I've seen its name pop up on a few "coming soon" listings (mainly DVD Aficionado), but I don't really believe these bits of news without concrete info or multiple sites attached to it.

I bought South Park season 2 at Target today since because it was only 30 bucks (as opposed to 40 at Media Play or 37 at Best Buy).

So I thought I was getting a steal...and then saw that both MEdia Play and Best Buy versions contained a bonus disc with the unaired pilot of the show.

Of course I had already opened my copy...so I'm fucked.

And obviously doesn't realize that if they go to the mall for any other reason than to check out the hotties, they're complete idiots. Anyone who buys stuff at the mall is a god damn idiot. I buy the occassional shirt or pair of pants from the mall, but that's once in a great while. I can't remember the last time I actually went to the mall to buy something.

That would be Molly Shannon's character Jeannie Darcy- a bad female comedian. I believe her last appearance was in the infamous Jennifer Lopez episode where she performed for old people.

I can see buying it if you're a Soviert film buff. As far as montage editing goes, it's probably the most unique and interesting use of the form (Battleship Potemkin being the better narrative example).

I suppose my hatred of MWaMC comes from all the hype before I saw it. It just wasn't an experiment that clicked with me at all. It was certainly a nobel risk on Vertov's part, though.

I work at the mall. Therefore, going to Suncoast and FYE is easier for me.

You are correct sir, heh. I bought two of those WWF/WWE DVDs you told me about, as you can see above, so thanks again!

I can understand opting to buy your stuff at FYE or Suncoast if you get some sort of a discount, because that way, you're at least paying something around what all the smart people are paying for elsewhere for the same item. Otherwise, I'd say that your wallet is the biggest victim for your lazyiness.

I don't have a credit card, so I can't buy anything online.

Driving to bestbuy or Circuit City would waste more gas than it would cost to pay the extra money.

I don't get a discount, but I pretty much break even money-wise due to the not driving.

It was also Billy Crystal's catchphrase in the movie "Mr. Saturday Night." In the '80's I think he had an HBO special named that as well.

BTW, The Ben Stiller Show DVD was pulled from the schedule weeks ago. A new date has yet to be announced.

Where the hell do you live that there's not a nearby Best Buy or Circuit City? My city is the shits and even we have a Best Buy, Circuit City, and Media Play nearby.

Guest MaxPower27

They are nearby, they just require a nice 30-40 minute drive on the highway

Ahh OK, that I can understand. It just threw me for a loop is all.

I bought the Animatrix DVD yesterday and the thing kicks some fuckin heavy duty booty. It was 24.99 and has something around 78 minutes of special features and about an hour and forty-five minutes of the actual cartoons, all of them full length.

Some questions/comments for those who've seen it every episode..........

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

In the "World Record" episode involving the track star, what was his deal? Was he on steroids? And who the fuckwas chasing him? Were they agents or rebels? It seemed to me that the story was that the guy had found the glitch in The Matrix and used it to his advantage by running fast as hell.

Is that really Carrie-Ann Moss in the "Detective's Story" espisode? Sounds like her.....

What was up with the episode involving the kids floating around in that "Haunted House"? It seemed similar to the episode with the runner, kinda like normal people discovering the truth.....

The pilot isn't anything that special. It is the originally aired Cartman Gets an Anal Probe pilot with some added footage.

The originally handed in version was 28 minutes long. So they cut 10 minutes and put in 3 minutes to make what was left work. The theme song is pretty awesome though, the sound is like the season 1 version only in slow mo and the footage is really creepy.

I agree with that 100%. I have no idea why anyone would go to any of the stores like that, it's fucking insane. I have only done so ONCE, that being at Suncoast, and that was only to buy Following because I couldn't find it ANYWHERE else.

Suncoast can have a good deal now and then, but most times, it's just horrible the prices and everything.

I went to Suncoast because Dances with Wolves 2-disc was 19.99 AND I had a 3.00 coupon so I got it for 16.99.

I even told the guy- This is the first time I've ever got something cheaper at Suncoast.

And then inside the Dances with Wolves disc is an offer for a free (well 5.95 S&H) MGM disc, and I'm talking decent choices too. So I sent off for a "Bull Durham" special edition.

Best Buy had it for 14.99 (2 disc set) PLUS a copy of the AMC documentary "Bond Girls are Forever" free. So that's a three disc set for 14.99!!!
