Guest RedJed Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Because foley said on many times he doesn't want to be one of those guys that retires and comes back again and again... He even said he wasn't interested in the WWE product any more and that would only add to the Hypocrite chants... Well he wouldnt be, ya know, wrestling in the damn match. Retiring and leaving the business are two different things. Foley RETIRED in 2000. So he's not going against any of those words you said there. Just last night on WOL he said he was watching WWE again thanks to someone he knows (cant remember who it was, I think some kids or something) and even though he wasnt shamelessly applauding them (how could you anyway when it is how it is) he didnt rip them apart either. Again shit like this HARDLY makes a person a hypocrite. Hell Goldberg, Hogan, Austin, Sable, etc, etc are/were far more hypocritical considering their take on the product before they came in or back in. Foley himself last night also said he left so he didn't despise the company, so to me thats saying he's still on good standing with them.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 3, 2003 But unlike Hogan, Goldberg, Piper and Sable... Foley thinks his word means something...

Guest RedJed Report post Posted June 3, 2003 But unlike Hogan, Goldberg, Piper and Sable... Foley thinks his word means something... You're going in circles, what "words" do you think in whatever time he said that would lead you to believe a return would be so hypocritical?
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Did Foley ever say he would not ever show up again in the WWE? I thought he just said he wouldn't wrestle again.

Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted June 3, 2003 We are getting WAY too hyped about this. I can just see the referee being someone like Al Snow or Tommy Dreamer just because.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Yeah... Anyways...I don't care...I still perfer Funk over Foley.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Like he said in Foley Is Good, coming back may put his kids through college. And business wise wouldn't it be shrewd for Vince to offer these one-time guys a percentage of the PPV instead of a huge sum?
Guest sean pyro Report post Posted June 3, 2003 I think it's cool that Funk and Foley move around better than Nash
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Man...Nathan FN Jones moves around better then Nash...Does that mean you want HIM to be the ref?
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Yeah... Anyways...I don't care...I still perfer Funk over Foley. If it is Foley.... are you gonna be the one doing the hypocrit chants? since you prefer Funk who hasn't had a tie to the WWE for what 5 years?
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Austin made a point to say Trust Me. Trust Me = Jake Roberts.

If it is Foley.... are you gonna be the one doing the hypocrit chants? since you prefer Funk who hasn't had a tie to the WWE for what 5 years? I won't mind foley...I was just trying to say that Foley wouldn't to be a Hyprocrite in his own mind... I perfer Funk because I believe he lives up to the moniker... "One sick crazy son of a bitch"...more so then Foley... Foley will just shill his book and go for a pop... Funk will work for the Crazy part and just to tear it up again... Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted June 3, 2003 im saying its foley... its obvious.. i dont think it would go over as well with funk, no offense to the guy but foley has the history as the guy who help make HIAC.. even if its just a one time thing...
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Man...Nathan FN Jones moves around better then Nash...Does that mean you want HIM to be the ref? Why not? Given Nathan Jones sloppy moves, and general lack of coordination someone is bound to get hurt.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 3, 2003 I personally wish it would be Terry Funk, but I somewhat hope it isn't. The LAST time someone was teased and it turned out to be the Funkster, it was a failure in parts. This being in WCW, when they pimped a new commish/president coming in and EVERYONE thought it would be Flair. When Funk walked out, oh my God, most booed him for being there instead of who they wanted. I'd put my money on Foley, as it was almost obvious who they were building it up as. I wouldn't hold my breath for either one however, as it's more than likely someone not all that major. I'd say possibly Shane also, and his coming back to take a bump, and to possibly JOIN HHH. Yeah, whoever it is will take a bump of some sorts also.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Did Austin say anything regarding a history with the cell? Just wondeirng cuz I thought he said "You aren't doing this and I can't...but trust me...I know one sick crazy son of a bitch that can...Just trust me...Trust me...Im calling that SOB right now"... Guest Madmartigan21 Report post Posted June 3, 2003 They definitely tried to lead everyone to believe that's Foley. If it's anyone else, inlcuding Funk, the fans are going to feel ripped off. That kind of a bullshit bait-and-switch swerve is reminiscent of when WCW promised a Canadian former world champion in that Canadian Penalty Box match. The implication was Bret Hart and then they delivered what's his name. Fuck nuts from the Quebecers.

Guest Space_Cowboy Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Well whoever the ref is should probably be able to bump, seeing as someone in the match should be able to.

Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted June 3, 2003 If it's Foley I will actually be looking forward to Nash vs. HHH. Foley is the reason I got interested in wrestling. I don't think he's a hypocrite for showing up, since I think the product has gotten at least a little better since he left, and it will probably be a one hot deal to promote his new book. I REALLY doubt it's Funk, since I don't think a lot of casual fans remember the guy. If it's Shane, then I'll definitely hate Nash vs. HHH. So it will probably be Shane. Guest JDMattitudeV1 Report post Posted June 3, 2003 I don't think Foley would want to associate himself with this steaming pile of shit of a match. HHH and Nash are going to piss away the legacy of HIAC that Foley helped build. I hope the crowd riots.
