Guest Rob Edwards Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Well E6 seem to be the breakthrough band of the year over here (although I'm not sure how they're getting over in their native America) and Gay Bar has confirmed that their not one hit wonders, but the question remains, does what they are doing have any longevity or will we have forgotten them in 2 years? Personally I'm in love with them and have Gay Bar and Danger/High Voltage as my #1 and #2 singles so far this year, I'm really looking forward to the album to see if they can hold that standard but I have to say the b sides on the singles leave me more than hopeful Thoughts?
Guest The Hamburglar Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 They're genius gimmickery of course. Danger! High Voltage! is a great pop song, with groove a-plentiful. Gay Bar is one of the most gloriously stupid and infantile songs I've ever heard, and I love it for that. Almost makes you want to go and hang around in a pub called Pink's...or something like that. Maybe.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Right with you on Gay Bar, if it doesn't beat Evenwe'dbequitegoodifitwasn'tforthatshoutybastardwhothinkshe'sinlikinparkshoutingnonscence to No1 this week I'll be an unhappy man
Guest saturnmark4life Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 Gimmickry that's ok. Not in the same league as the genius that is Andrew WK, but alright. I haven't seen any evidence that the album will be any good all the way through. 'Danger..' is better than the other one, I can't see them topping that.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 I don't know, personally Gay Bar slightly edges it for me The album was summed up for me by afriend who HATED both singles so far but is still buying the album on the basis that so good are Six at catchy riffs/hooks if they actually hit one he likes it'll be up there amongst his favourate songs I never really got the WK thing, sorry
Guest Renegade Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I burst into laughter when I hear gay bar. Just so damn funny.
Guest caboose Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 It's funny because I've just read on British teletext that three of the members have quit the band over the weekend.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 not any of the important members. see www.nme.com if anyones actually bothered. And the songs get stuck in my head pretty quick. I call that genius.
Guest Renegade Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 It's funny because I've just read on British teletext that three of the members have quit the band over the weekend. Damn, you use teletext? The only thing its good for is to check lotto numbers.

Damn, you use teletext? The only thing its good for is to check lotto numbers. Without it I'd be at a loss to current events. It's not like I watch the news or anything.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Do they have teletext in America?? I feel this is an important issue. Er, anyway, E6 are pretty damn great.
Guest caboose Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Do they have teletext in America?? I feel this is an important issue. I've always wanted to know that actually...
Guest WhenDanSaysJump Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 I do not like Electric Six. Mark me up as another Teletext user. Hey Caboose, I'll assume you know who Rebecca Nahid is. Ex-girlfriend of mine. And that's true.

Ex-girlfriend of mine. And that's true. Well you've assumed wrong. The name doesn't even ring a bell. Should it? Am I really that ignorant? Please explain, I'm curious now...
Guest Rob Edwards Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Rebecca Nahid = regular on the vibe, Channel 4's music pages, page 162 is the letters page I think Is she as annoying in real life as she is on there? God help you if you've ever met Pinsent!
Guest WhenDanSaysJump Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Fuck Pinsent... And she is equally as abrasive in real life
