ChrisMWaters Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I was re-watching my tape of WrestleMania XIX...and I heard them mention WrestleMania The Movie... I'm wondering...is there any news on that since then? Like...what it's going to be about or such? Is it like Beyond the Mat, but WWE-ized? Or what?
Guest JMTapes Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Basically a documentary on how a WM is put on. It'll probably be, as you said, a "WWE-Ized" Beyond the Mat. Should be kinda cool, though. -JM
Guest BifEverchad Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I remember them talking about it awhile back, like during the actual broadcast and maybe even on Confidental, but I havent heard anything since. I totally forgot about that concept until you just mentioned it. I remember the big boom microphones and the movie cameras around ringside. Can't wait to hear and see more about this. The Kurt Angle story of it all should be good, but may take a backseat to the Hogan/Vince "story".

Well, they first mentioned it during the Michaels/Jericho match...so they might have everything from that point on in the show...
Guest Mole Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Nah, I am sure it will be about the whole show. Just because they mentioned it during that match it doesn't mean that it will start there.
cawthon777 Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Well if they filmed it all that day or that weekend, I wouldn't expect to see a finished product for close to another year. Maybe just in time for WrestleMania XX.
Guest RedJed Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 If they really wanted to do a rush-job I could see it out by SummerSlam time since I expect alot of the main Mania matches to occur at SummerSlam also (HBK-Jericho & Hogan-Vince at least) and it might make a great compliment to hype those Mania rematches. I think the Angle stuff is going to be a huge vehicle to get him more over as a face potentially also. What I'm wondering if they will put it out on DVD right away or if this will be first aired on TNN or UPN or something.
cawthon777 Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 When I heard "WrestleMania: The Movie" - I immediately thought theatrical release.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 5, 2003 Author Report Posted June 5, 2003 I think they may be saving WrestleMania-The Movie for JUST before WrestleMania XX
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 i just got the DVD today, great card, great matches.....shitty xtras
Guest The Tino Standard Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I'm pretty sure they said this is going to be aired in a one-hr. special on UPN, but I could be wrong.
Guest RedJed Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 i just got the DVD today, great card, great matches.....shitty xtras Eh I disagree, there is a decent amount of them on there, and they are all pretty solid if you ask me. Anyone find the easter egg yet?
DrVenkman PhD Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 WWE.com had a story up right after the PPV about WrestleMania: The Movie. It will be a 1 hour special on UPN, airdate unknown.

DrVenkman PhD Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 WrestleMania 2000 came with the awesome History disc, but why everyone expects the Mania DVDs to have blow away extras every year when now 2 years in a row no such thing has been presented amazes me. WMX-7, which the box somehow calculated at 7 hours, had a few interviews from Heat, the match from Heat, and the ability to watch video packages of stuff that was already presented on the show. They didn't even have the full Rock/Austin match from the next Raw, just a video package about it that I believe was used the following week on Raw or at Backlash 2001. X8 stepped it up but was still basically a collection of the materials presented on the Countdown to WrestleMania special, almost no different then the way XIX is using the WrestleMania related pieces from Confidential as extras this year. The biggest extras on X8 were a few minutes of footage from Byte This! with Vince McMahon and the Hogan/Warrior match from WM6, but I already own that show so big deal. No Heat match on X8, but the Heat match is on XIX. To it's credit, X8 has a FULL segment from the next night's Raw instead of the video package business they did with X-7, but XIX also has the Goldberg debut from Raw which I did enjoy more than Hogan's little deal with Rock post-Mania (and I like Hogan way more than Goldberg - old school WWF fan mentality). Winner: WMXIX
Guest RedJed Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 If anyone wants to find the easter egg, go to the chapters on disc 2 and go left when Rock-Austin is highlighted. Funny stuff, they broke character at the Axxess show.
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 i was there and it was histerical, i wish they showd the whole thing.
