Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted June 7, 2003 The movie comes out in July, and I just watched T2 again on DVD, and I was wondering what you people think of the upcoming sequel. Personally, I'm going to see it (I mean, it's Terminator 3) but I can't shake the feeling that it won't be as good as T2. From what I hear, Linda Hamilton isn't in it, and she did a great job in both T1 snd T2. I don't know if Hollywood can make it surpass the second one, epecially with a new director. What do you think?
Guest two_tuff_toddy Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I'm all about going to see this movie. I was most likely going to see it a couple of times expecting it to easily be better than the 2nd one but I didn't know it had a new director so now I'm not so sure how good it will be. I did see the preview half a dozen times while going to se Matrix 2 and that looked bad ass so maybe the new director won't hurt it any and it will be as good as I think it can be. Either way, I'm going to see it the day it comes out and maybe a couple more if it's really good.
Guest two_tuff_toddy Report post Posted June 7, 2003 "Linda Hamilton isn't in it" No Sardah Conna. That really sucks.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I think it looks like utter crap. Not to mention the dumbass commercials talking about Ahnolds character saying "he tried to end the world and now he's back to save it" and makes a big deal out of Ahnold being a hero. What the fuck...he already made this face turn and saved the world.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I wasn't a fan of the 2nd movie so no this doesn't interest me.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I wasn't until the newest trailers. The new trailers look very cool. Looks better than the second one at least. But you know, it takes a lot to be worse than that. If Cameron was doing it I'd have no interest but the fact that it's Mostow I'm hoping it's good. I would like to go the rest of my life without seeing another James Cameron movie.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I like the 2nd better than the 1st. So yah I'm seeing this.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I liked the original Terminator better, only because the Terminator should NOT be a good guy and he should NOT be trying to save people. I still do like the second one, just not as much as the first. I'll still be seeing Terminator 3. even though it will probably be worse than the other two. Guest SP-1 Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I'm kinda looking forward to it. I haven't watched either of the first two in quite some time so I need to review before I can figure out if I'm really hyped up about it.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I liked both Terminators. I can't decide which I like better. But there are a few reason's I think this one looks bad: -No James Cameron -No Linda Hamilton -It seems basically like T2 10 years later with a girl instead of a guy as the bad guy. -Wait a minute.....how are there Terminators coming back!? I thought they made sure that wouldn't happen in T2! -Arnold doesn't look to good in this one. Either he's just not trying or his acting skills have taken a plummet. Or maybe he's trying to hard. Guest Vyce Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I'll probably just download this instead of paying to see it.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Rental. Notice how every non-horror movie this year is pretty much a sequel of some sort?
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted June 7, 2003 this will probably be worst than the first two, but i'm seeing it anyway. but i don't know, it looks too shiny or something...
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I anticipate a brutally retarded waste of $150 million of budget or however much it cost. Woof.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Terminator 2 is one of my all-time favorites, and is head and shoulders above the first movie. Still my hopes for T3 are dimmed since Cameron basically avoided it like the plague. I'll see it, but I'm not going to go in expecting a lot. It'll be interesting to see how they explain the fact that there still are Terminators coming back after the destruction of all the cybernetics (except the part of Ah-nult's arm lodged in the gears... hmm) in T2. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Yeah I never thought of that......plus not all of Dyson's work may have been destroyed. But still it basically looks like T2 with a woman as a bad guy.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I disagree with T2 being better than the first, but I'm probably in the minority on that one. The second one was fun in a "Wow, shit just keeps blowing up" but the first one genuinly intrigues me from a storyline point too. Arnold wasn't acting like a tool in that one either, what with the thumbs up and all that shit coming in T2. I'll be seeing it in any case. Worse case scenario, I get a lot of shit blowing up again, which is fine. Hell, that scene where Ah-nold is holding that coffin on his shoulder and blasting with his free hand is hilarious enough to get my money.
Guest Mole Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Unless it gets great reviews, I won't see it until it comes out on DVD. I could care less about this movie.
Guest MrRant Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I'll be there yo.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I think this is going to ba a totally commercialized Arnold character and a stupid plot. If they looked back at what someone said before, (hat part of Arnold's arm left beind) then the plot will be acceptable. I just don't see any other way to make it seem real other than that, and I doubt the writers even picked up on it. I just have REALLY low hopes for this, but I'm going to see it. Guest DrTom Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I disagree with T2 being better than the first, but I'm probably in the minority on that one. Opinions seems pretty divided here. I like both movies, but I think T2 is one of the best movies I've ever seen, and is easily in the top handful of movies made in the 1990s. Look past the explosions: there is a great message of hope that runs all throughout the film, and is even explicitly stated at the end. If you haven't seen the Special Edition DVD (not the one that just came out, but the two-discer that's been out for a while), the SE is even better than the theatrical release. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Well I mean T2 is awesome. But so is the first one. I can't decide. I mean you've gotta love a movie that has: "Sarah Connor?" "Yes?" *BLAM!*
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted June 8, 2003 When I saw a theater preview with him saying "She'll be back," I knew right then and there that this would be a rental at best...
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I just find T2 relies on special effects too much. That and I can't stand the John Conner character.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I just find T2 relies on special effects too much. Cameron finally had a big budget to work with on one of his Terminator movies. He can hardly be blamed for using it. I thought the special effects did what they were supposed to do: complement the story. If you've seen the SE, the parts whee the T-1000 repeatedly glitches after being frozen and shot to pieces is great: it lets you see this new machine can actually be defeated. That and I can't stand the John Conner character. He grows up a lot during the movie, which is the point of the character. He starts out as a young punk and, by the end of the movie, is much more hardened to the world and the challenges he'll eventually face. Also, in the SE, you see more glimpses of the man he'll become. I really recommend the Special Edition if all you've seen is the theatrical version: the inclusion of the ommited parts really makes an already-great movie into a classic. Guest DrTom Report post Posted June 9, 2003 Nope. He's a druggie, so they replaced him with Nick Stahl.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted June 9, 2003 I also liked T1 better. Mainly because of Michael Beihn, a more focused plot, and the fact that the T-800 is a far better villain than the T-1000.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2003 I agree with Tom on the Special Edition. I hope that you've unlocked the Extended Special Edition, Tom, in the Ultimate Edition DVD. There's a scene with Michael Biehn in T2 in the SE by the way.... Dames
