I was backstage at Insurrextion...

I was fortunate enough to be allowed backstage for 20mins or so. My notes aren't that interesting, but I know there are some of you that find this stuff interesting (as do I) so I am posting some observations.

- Booker T warms up for his matches with a skipping rope.

- Steph is very hot in person

- Hurricane was great and actually approached us when he saw my mate wearing a Green lantern t-shirt.

- Dave Hebner was very friendly and introduced us to some superstars.

- Al Snow and Val Venis were watching Maven's dark match very closely backstage on a monitor - I guess Al Snow continues to be his mentor.

- I never realised, no matter how experienced, how nervous (or so it seemed to me) the wrestlers get before performing. When their match was a few mins away, they would pace up and down jump about and generally look to get into some sort of 'zone'

- I had the pleasure of Teddy Long calling me a 'playa'

So you may not find them interesting, but some people will. I was only back there for 20mins, so didn't really get upto much but met a few superstars. To be honest, I was pretty nervous and intrigued myself.

No way bro, I'd love to be backstage at any wrestling event.

How'd you get back there?

I must admit that yes, I would very much like to be called a playa by Teddy Long. Thuggin' & Buggin'!

Did you meet HHH?? Did he hold down your backstage experience?? How about Kevin Nash?? Did he no-sell everything you said to him?? That'd be pretty fun man, would've been an exciting night.

I bet RVD wasn't nervous.

I bet RVD was stoned.

You don't send him overseas.

How do you know it was Dave? Huh? Huh? Maybe it was Earl playing a trick on you! OOOH! Bet you didn't think of that, huh?

Should have asked him to put it in writing so you could prove it and keep a life long memory.

I am friends with someone who was a guest of RDA, who handle all WWE PR in the UK.

Nope, the biggest wrestling star I saw was Booker T, while in terms of the organisational hierarchy it was Steph and JR.

And it was Dave, as Earl was standing next to him at the time in a Ref's uniform. Some guy I do not know asked to keep it down at one point as they were filming promos just the other side of a thin wall (I think Steph was directing the promos).
