Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Why build the tag division though? I mean when is the last time you cared, and I mean really cared about a tag team title match. I have cared about several Smackdown Tag Title matches.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 I did in the past, when you had the Smackdown 6 running things, but I feel like they just threw TA a bone for being the only real tag team around (sans Los Guerreros). RAW tag titles should be abolished and tag team wrestling really left to Smackdown. That was my main point. I think there should be one set of tag belts alone.
Guest AM The Kid Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Check out some of Christians matches with Edge in 2001...most of them were four star matches. The man needs time in his matches, not these five minute ones, tossed together by the writing team in two seconds.

Hey, I'm a huge fan of Edge, and a pretty big fan of Christians, but those matches were not four star. They were good, but not that good. And even if they were, that was almost two years ago.
Guest AM The Kid Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 People's talent cant go from great to shit in two years unless their name is Triple H, he still has it in him and mark my words he will be a main eventer in a few years.
Guest Alcohol Fueled Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 The only **** matches Christian or Edge has ever had were tag matches. Neither of then could carry a singles match in a bag.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Actually using him as your example totally countered your own point. It CAN and DOES happen.
Guest CanadianChick Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 The only **** matches Christian or Edge has ever had were tag matches. Neither of then could carry a singles match in a bag. Does that include all of Edge's matches fromo 2002 with Angle, Guerrerro, and so on?
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Remember when the IC champion was considered the #1 contender for the World title? Those were the days! Crips vs. Christian, that could main event a Wrestlemania.
Guest AM The Kid Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Triple H was an established main eventer before tearing the old quad. Christian is an up and coming wrestler who just needs a push and some old school booking.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 saying someone "sucks" and leaving it as that doesn't fly around here. Sure about that DH? OnlyMe, I Smell Ratings, and some others think it's quite alright.

His Guerrero matches were downright awesome too. And he had a nice little cage match with Jericho that was pretty underrated IMO.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Hey, no way you can discount the matches vs. Eddie. Those were fantastic. Edge did very well with guys like that, and meshed well as a great worker on the Smackdown side. He's proven himself enough, IMO.
Guest AM The Kid Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Edge has had the push that Christian needs, if Christian was on Smackdown right now he would be flyin high but he's stuck working with alot of talentless slugs on Raw.
Guest CanadianChick Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Edge has had the push that Christian needs, if Christian was on Smackdown right now he would be flyin high but he's stuck working with alot of talentless slugs on Raw. That's alot of assuming there. First of all, how do we know he wouldn't just face the slugs of Smackdown? Secondly, is it proven that he could produce the matches that Edge could with the elite wrestlers?
Guest Just call me Dan Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 I doubt it. Edge was groomed form the start. Chrisitan reminds me of Hurricane, in that he pretty much needed a push. I actually thought Hurricane was going to be pushed from the start of his jump. I think Xian would hit a wall for a while and perhaps breakout eventually. Edge was a planned big push as soon as the split happened.
Guest bob_barron Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Check out some of Christians matches with Edge in 2001...most of them were four star matches. The man needs time in his matches, not these five minute ones, tossed together by the writing team in two seconds. Christian wrestled Edge thrice in 2001. The Unforgiven match was pretty slow and not what those guys are capable of. The ladder match was way too slow. The cage match was pretty fun but nothing too special. If you think any of those matches are **** then you must really love Christian
Guest bob_barron Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 The only **** matches Christian or Edge has ever had were tag matches. Neither of then could carry a singles match in a bag. Did you see the Unforgiven match v. Eddy?? Edge sold the head injury like it was death and Eddy played the heel to perfection. Def a ****+ match
Guest bob_barron Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Triple H was an established main eventer before tearing the old quad. Christian is an up and coming wrestler who just needs a push and some old school booking. He's getting a "push". Whenever he was tagged in in last week's RAW match the action slowed down considerably. Christian is the Marty Jannetty of E-n-C and it's really starting to show. Christian may be handicapped to only 5 minute matches on RAW but he should make the most out of that time and not resort to choking
Guest Alcohol Fueled Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 I am not an Eddie fan. He does little to impress me, so those matches were barely watchable, IMO.
Guest bob_barron Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Are you saying that the Unforgiven match was barely watchable?? A match where the psychology was picture perfect, Edge made his comebacks at the perfect time, Eddy KILLS him with a MDK powerbomb to win which plays off the psychology. That match was barely watchable?
Guest bob_barron Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Ummmmmmmmm alright- that's your opinion I guess
Guest Kingpk Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 The only **** matches Christian or Edge has ever had were tag matches. Neither of then could carry a singles match in a bag. Def a ****+ match Resisting urge to plug......restisting urge to plug.....resisting urge to plug. There, all better. Anyway, Eddie not watchable? Tell me, did you actually WATCH the Unforgiven match? Eddie's heel act made it all the more enjoyable.
Guest Alcohol Fueled Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Yes I saw the match, but I didn't enjoy it. I'll give Eddie credit, he's a great heel and works the mic well, but his in ring performance is a bit stale.
Guest AM The Kid Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Christian is far from the Marty Janetty, Christian has had way more sucess that Janetty could have ever hoped for. I don't think you know what a good worker is anyways, you're favorite is Regal, who is pure shit in the ring so if we're going to tear apart wrestlers for workrate lets look at him. Christian can pull off four star matches, but just hasn't been given the chance.

Christian was given two big PPV matches last year with Edge that went 10 min+- he didn't hit ****. Christian was in a tag team with Lance Storm- They're matches ranged from boring-midly not boring. Jannetty has had ****+ singles match- Christian hasn't.
Guest CanadianChick Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 AM, where is your proof that Christian can pull off a great match one on one?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Christian is still just WAY too much a tag-team wrestler. His moveset is even a mirror-image of Edge's. (All of Edge's holds come from a DDT, where Christian's come from a reverse headlock..) I think the guy could pull it, off, except perhaps for the damn move restrictions. Learn a couple new moves here and there..and bam.
