Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted June 9, 2003 Gamespy Raw 2 preview Click the above link Some things of note: "WWE Raw 2's season mode. This mode can be played by up to four players. Any number of players can participate at a given time, allowing you and your buddies to progress the season no matter how many of you are present." "Before each episode of Raw, you're shown a stat card that gives all your wrestler's vital information. The basic stats of each grappler are aggressive, intelligence, dexterity, social, charisma, and luck. There are also a few categories that change depending on your activities in each episode; these are spirit, popularity, allies, enemies, and manager." "Between each match you're allowed to perform an action. The success of the action depends on how high your spirit meter is. If it's too low then you can opt to rest between matches and build it up. Your character can perform an action between every match, though it's smarter to bide some time and build up some energy to ensure success." "Faces will want to execute locker room strikes on heels and encourage friends to gain popularity. Heels, on the other hand, need to engage in more unscrupulous -- and possibly more fun -- activities like stealing an opponent's weapon and setting traps for faces. Likewise, the more dastardly actions a heel pulls off, the more "popular" he becomes. On the pragmatic side, objects, weapons, and costumes that are unlocked during the actions can be used in the game's other modes." I'm feeling the RPG aspects of the season mode. I'm hoping that they can pull off all that they have promised. If they do, it should be a hell of a wrestling game.

Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted June 9, 2003 The basic stats of each grappler are aggressive, intelligence, dexterity, social, charisma, and luck. Hmm..... RVD Stats: Aggressive-2(Gotta learn that WWE style, bah GAWD) Intelligence-4(*Touch tones*Marijuana affects the memory) Dexterity-5(Oh, they made this word up) Social-1(STIFF KICK! STIFF KICK! STIFF KICK!) Charisma-3(He just doesn't connect with the fans) Luck- -10 You Know WHHHo Stats: Aggressive-98(He hits people with sledgehammers and spits water, he's BUBBATUFF) Intelligence-107(He's the Cerebral Assasian, ya know) Dexterity-100(Even though they made this word up) Social-100(Locker Room Leader) Charisma-100(He just connects with the fans) Luck- Doesn't need luck, he's better than Flair! So RAW 1 was pretty brutal? What happened there?
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted June 9, 2003 RVD Stats: *cut to save space* You Know WHHHo Stats: *cut to save space* So RAW 1 was pretty brutal? What happened there? Now let me say that RVDs stats aren't high enough in the stat department. It should be 11. And it's you know wHHHo so he should definitely have 100+ luck to emphazie his ability to HHHold you down. Raw wasn't so much brutal as the gameplay was pretty basic, if not over simplic in usage and thusly cheapness ensued from it.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted June 9, 2003 I think Raw went for a more wrestling sim base, like taking time and building your matches. Once you got the technique down it was quite fun
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted June 10, 2003 I think Raw went for a more wrestling sim base, like taking time and building your matches. Once you got the technique down it was quite fun I liked that, but the move animations were awkward and completely unrealistic. If they change that and keep the awesome create-an-entrance feature, I'll give it a chance.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 i agree. a lot of the moves were Matrix oriented
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Wasn't there a feature like that in RAW or was that just introduced in Smackdown: SYM?

Once you got the technique down it was quite fun That's what I thought too. That's why I think it's the best WWF game there is on PS2 or Xbox. Personally I'd rather play a wrestling game that lets me do wrestling moves and has matches that take a while to win or lose instead of playing lame ass Smackdown where all you do is punch your opponent for about 20-30 seconds then hit your finisher and it's over.
