Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted June 9, 2003 I know there's a thread just like this one but I was looking more for entire NJPW cards rather than everything from puroresu.
Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted June 9, 2003 The last Tokyo Dome show was pretty good. There was a helluva junoirs tag match between Heat/TMIV and Liger/Kanemoto, Kobashi and Chono delivered, a lot of people dug the main event (I wasn't one of them, but hey, different strokes for different folks ), and I personally liked the Inoue-Murakami bout (it was Inoki-esque, but sometimes the Inoki formula works). Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 9, 2003 I'd definitely try to hook up with the 1/4/96 Dome show. Excellent stuff there as well as the follow up Dome show in April of the same year.(not exactly sure of the date though) 1/4/00 Dome show is very good from top to bottom, but the Savage vs Steiner match is offensive on levels that cannot be explained. EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2003 96 and 2000 1/4 dome shows rule it. I did a review over at 411 on the 1/4/2000 dome show and found it pretty damn swell. Of course, the three matches that really sucked there in the middle didn't do much for me...but the second half of the event, the opening jr. tag, and the UFO/NJPW tag to close out part 1 are so great. Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 I have NJPW Battle Formation 96 which I like alot, is that 1/4/96? It looked like a huge event and I know 1/4 is usually a day for their big events. I'll check out 1/4/00 too. And the other thing I'm looking for is WCW involvement on NJ shows i.e. Battle Formation 96, Collision in Korea, etc. Anybody know of any other good ones? Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Battle Formation is the April Dome show from 96 that followed 1/4/96. 1/4/96 featured Muto vs Takada for the IWGP title and Inoki vs Vader. For WCW involvement, you might want to look into Evolution in Osaka Dome 1997. That has NWO Sting and Syxx vs Yasuda and Iizuka (ugh) , Luger and Giant vs Vicious and Delicious, and a not half bad 6 man tag of the Outsiders and Chono vs the Steiner Brothers and Mutoh. Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Cool thanks...know any place that sells it?
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted June 10, 2003 You're better off just getting the New Japan classics episode with Inoki/Vader on it, as I think there are far better Takada matches than the Mutoh match. Even if you don't want to venture out of New Japan, his title matches with Hashimoto are better. Speaking of which, Battle Formation has Hash/Takada on top of a good Lyger/Sasuke. That's worth picking up for those two. Another one I'd reccomend is the 8/8/93 Sumo Hall show. Lyger/Pegasus on the bottom and Tenryu/Hash sell this one on their own, and the rest of the card won't get on your nerves too much.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Yeah I really enjoyed Hash/Takada because I really got behind Hash and wanted to see him kick Takada's ass. I'd rather not get straight NJ yet until I see some more WCW involved NJ.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted June 10, 2003 There is heavy WCW invovlement on the 3/21/91 "Starcade in Tokyo Dome" show, including an awesome WCW and IWGP Tag Title Unification match Hase/Sasaki vs Steiners, Sting vs Great Muta, and a WCW vs NJPW Six man tag (can't remember wrestlers off the top of my head) there is a NJPW version of this show at Wrestleholics, and there is a WCW version that is very clipped up with Play by play from JR and Schivone that is much more common to find. The 1/4/93 Tokyo Dome show has some WCW wrestlers on it (I reviewed it on Rolling Germans)
EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 I swear...that 3/21/93 Muta/Sting match was so disappointing...both men were at the top of their games at that time...they could have absolutely brought the house down...what the hell happened?
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted June 10, 2003 It's Mutoh, Dandy. Do you even have to ask? He dogged it.

Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted June 12, 2003 http://www.rasman.com/njpw.html this is a match listing that lists the *** and above matches from meltzer from 90-99. http://www.deathvalleydriver.com/jdwnjpimp.html this is the jdw pimping post where he gives his opinions on the famous nj matches of the 90's. a good resource. then after you go to these two sites and see what you would be interested in, go over to highspots or email jeff lynch (links in the pinned threads) and get the tapes from them. some of the shows titles can be found in the highspots tape listings and others at the k&d matchlist found at the following link... http://kandd.shootangle.com/newjapan.html
