Guest Mikey2Dope Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Backstage news on Lance Storm and a potential spoiler... - Lance Storm was not happy at RAW last night. The women's match ran long, forcing WWE to cut time from his match with Scott Steiner. WWE cut out his entrance and largely made the match look like a squash. - The following is a POTENTIAL SPOILER! Rico will be changing his character over the next few weeks. His new character will be a modern day version of the Exotic Adrian Street character. Jackie Gayda will play his version of Miss Linda. Rico actually met with the original Adrian Street and discussed the character with him. Credit: 1wrestling.com

I understand puting certain guys in the ring and not showing their entrance, ex. Stevie Richards (sorry Yuna), Spike Dudley and even Chris Nowinski, but Lance? God, he's so above that. And putting him in a match with Steiner and making him look like a chump is unacceptable. Lance has a right to be upset. He could easily be Intercontinental Champion right now. Rico gets a new gimmick and a push? I'm all for that!
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Oh boo fucking hoo Lance. You got a big push last winter and it failed. He should be lucky to be employed
Guest Mole Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Ever since Lance has been in WWE, he hasn't impressed me one bit. I can't think of one or two good matches that he has had. I liked him in ECW and what I saw of him in WCW.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 11, 2003 That's a little unfair. What big push? As Regal's tag partner? BWAHAHAH!!

Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Ever since Lance has been in WWE, he hasn't impressed me one bit. I can't think of one or two good matches that he has had. I liked him in ECW and what I saw of him in WCW. his only real chance to shine was against edge at summerslam 2001, which was a DAMN fine match, and the second-best on the card if i recall correctly. storm gets a lot of shit around here for being pretty bland, but the man can work a match & the fed's given him exactly dick to work with. Where is Lance's site? Address please? www.stormwrestling.com but i don't see where he's pissed off about this. the latest commentary's from a guest author, & he hasn't answered reader mail in weeks. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted June 11, 2003 That's a little unfair. What big push? As Regal's tag partner? BWAHAHAH!! Remember the UnAmericans?? Lance got a push from July-March. It failed. The end. And mole- Lance has had a few good matches in WWE. But they come few and far between
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 11, 2003 www.stormwrestling.com The Unamericans wasn't a push given that it was a bad idea in the first place and the WWE didn't have enough balls to play the 9/11 card.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Remember the UnAmericans?? Lance got a push from July-March. It failed. The end. and the failure had EVERYTHING to do with storm and NOTHING to do with the fact that it was a dumb, shitty gimmick that never would've built credibility for anyone stuck in it. Lance has had a few good matches in WWE. But they come few and far between as i said, the only time they really let him go was at summerslam. he performed quite handsomely, & they haven't given him the chance since. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 11, 2003 If you read his commentboard his responses get bitterer (?) by the day. Not to mention he credited Flair with 'reinvigorating his love for the business' - as if to say, he wasn't enjoying it before.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted June 11, 2003 well I'd be pissed to if I got lumped into a 2 minute squash job to a washed up performer because of a women's match. But him getting pissed and complaining is only gonna get him sent to heat. He really is in no position to gripe about it.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted June 11, 2003 They put him over Hulk Hogan and Edge at Vengeance and BookDust (the hottest team in the company) at Summerslam. Christian and Lance were just too boring to work as a tag team

Christian and Lance were just too boring to work as a tag team Double-edged sword. The Un-Americans got some of the biggest heel heat... but it was cheap "We Love America And You Don't So Screw You" heat. Take it how you will.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted June 11, 2003 If you can point out where I said he did- please do. Lance got the push with Regal from October to February and then hooked up with Morley right after and they got a bunch of airtime. Lance is just too bland to be over with the fans
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 11, 2003 The Commonwealth Connection also got a big push on RAW and failed to get over. Painfully dull resthold-laden matches will tend to do that for you.

The end. And mole- Lance has had a few good matches in WWE. But they come few and far between It wasn't Storm's fault that the Unamericans gimmick never got over. A group of flag burning foreigners is certainly not going to get over to well, especially since many Americans have increased patriotism since 9/11. As sucky wrestlers as La Resistance are, they are not as anti-American as they are French stereotypes....they're using behavior, such as their flamboyant costumes and silly Frenchness to make us hate them. I'd take that over someone trying to burn the flag of any country to get cheap heat.

Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 11, 2003 I think Lance would be a perfect evil villain for the Hurricane.... ESPECIALLY if he played it very boring-like... A perfect foil for helms.
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Lance is just too bland to be over with the fans Not really. They just haven't used him correctly. As much as WCW sucked towards the end, at least they figured out how to use Storm correctly. Even though he did get some airtime as a tag team partner of Regal and Morley, he really didn't get any time to establish himself. He was just there following them. Hell, the way they were using him, they could have substituted Rosey and or Jamal and no one would have known. It's not Storm's fault.
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted June 11, 2003 I think Lance would be a perfect evil villain for the Hurricane.... ESPECIALLY if he played it very boring-like... A perfect foil for helms. That's why Storm's WCW character was great. As the boring, self absorbed Canadian, he's at his best. Anyone who ever saw him on Nitro discusing the values of the Saskatchewan Hardcore International Title know what I'm talking about
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 11, 2003 I can honestly say he'd be better off being released, and I say that because he gives the impression that he's one of the guys who would much rather be wrestling long matches on a daily basis then a guy who just makes a lot of money.
