Guest tpww7 Report post Posted June 12, 2003 Just now on TNA it was announced that Sting will be on TNA next week. Glad to see he didnt sway towards the WWE. I do hope he doesent pull a Piper though.
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted June 12, 2003 as cool as it will be to see Sting in TNA, I'd rather see him in WWE for markout value.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 12, 2003 Sting would/will be misused by both promotions. They both suffer from politics, although TNA's aren't nearly as bad as WWE's. Sting should just stay out of wrestling, however if he is to come back to a mainstream promotion, I'd rather it be TNA. At least there he'd get a halfway decent push as opposed to WWE where he'd have to prove himself.
Guest sean pyro Report post Posted June 12, 2003 This is good for NWA:TNA, gives people another reason to order the Anniversary Show. But still think he'll end up with WWE once he gets done with TNA, he said he would for the right money and if he only has work on TV tapings.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted June 12, 2003 I still guarantee that Sting is in the WWE by SummerSlam. TNA is bringing him in for the one year anniversary next week...but they can't afford him full time. (nor would he be worth the money IMO).
rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2003 Ithink Stings just ganna use this as a stepping stone to prove he's still popular to Vince.
Guest caboose Report post Posted June 12, 2003 Being the biggest Sting mark on the board, I have to say I do not like the idea of Sting going to TNA or even making it to the WWE. Sting's legacy is set in stone. The WWA gig should have been a farewell tour of Europe because he was even more popular this side of the pond. I believe he would be the most successful of all the recent ex-WCW guys if he were to appear in the WWE, but I do not think he should risk embarassing himself ala Steiner (not that Sting would ever be THAT bad) or being booked like a schmuck ala Goldberg. As for TNA, if Sting is using them to get a WWE contract. Both TNA and Sting are going to end up looking cheap.
Guest Memoirs of an Invisible Chevy Report post Posted June 12, 2003 Why would Sting go to the Russo-led bushleagues? Fooolish.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 12, 2003 its so pitiful such WWE hatred automatically assumes they would misuse a hasbeen soo sad. since Sting has a sizable fortune. Well its a moot point Sting sees the sign of the Devil in Vince. And his New Born Face painting Christian ways cannot allow him to join the Satanic fed! Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted June 12, 2003 Last thing they need anyway is another main event guy from WCW who's going to get way more then he's worth and not nudge the ratings one bit.

Until the writing improves, NO ONE will be able to nudge the ratings....not even Dr. Phil himself.
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted June 12, 2003 I agree Sting will still be in WWE by Summerslam. This is probably 1 or maybe 2 appearence thing to pop a buyrate. Still...<Don West Mode> NEXT WEEK!!!.....STING......AT THE ASYLUM....TEAMING WITH JEFF JARRET....AGAINST....MIKE ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?....THE PHENOMENAL AJ STYLES AND A PARTNER!...IT WILL BE TNA'S 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY....I CAN'T WAIT!<Don West Mode Off>

Until the writing improves, NO ONE will be able to nudge the ratings....not even Dr. Phil himself. No way man, Dr Phil is a draw. The show's too far in the tank now for anything to help. They need the shows to consistantly be good for weeks instead of relying one buy to pop ratings. And with HHH and Nash being the focus on Raw. And Hogan and Vince on Smackdown...this could take a while.

Its beyond the actual competitors. The writers need to give the fans somethign they actually WANT to see, something they want to invest their time in. Right now, its just mindless shit to appease the politicing wrestlers in the back. These guys care more about themselves than putting out an entertaining show. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted June 12, 2003 I just think it's a good idea for a one shot week for TNA. Anything past that they'll have to sell me real hard on. WWE would probably put him on SD! since they have a lack of what they consider "big" names on that show. And when I think of Taker vs. Sting...from a workrate perspective it blows...but I'd watch it in a heartbeat.
Bored 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2003 I'm sorry does anyone actually think Sting will draw? Will WWE marks even really know who he is or even care? I'd bring in Sting as an upper midcarder to put over younger talent, since guys like Undertaker refuse to and guys like Benoit and Eddie shouldn't have to yet, but his days of being a main eventer are long over. Exactly! lets be real. i hope sting never steps foot in a major promotion again. he wasn't great in the ring since vader carried his ass ten years ago. i have no reason to think he would be worth watching now. everyone popped for piper until his fatass stepped into the ring. now, we wish he would just disappear. people popped for hogan, sable, nash (well, not nash) and none of them do the company ANY good. leave the old guys for the tape collections and press this company to start altering the way they go about grabbing wrestlers. Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 12, 2003 WWE needs to get Sting and promote him in the ultimate gimmick match of all time. Stairway to Heaven: Sting vs HBK vs Y2J with special ref Christopher Daniels.

Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted June 12, 2003 Sting should stay at home and watch wrestling or do whatever he does in his free time. There's really no room or no point for Sting to show up. Desperation = Impulsiveness.

Amen..... I've never ever been a big Sting fan. From my perspective,he's been phoning in the same medicore match for a decade.....actually most of his career but I'll give him credit for the enthusiasm of his youth. I pop for Piper but because of the personality. The expectations of him in ring were never high.
Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted June 12, 2003 They said Sting signed a contract with TNA on the show. They wouldn't say that if he was only coming in for one show. I think he will be there for a couple of months atleast.
Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted June 12, 2003 I'm with bps on this - he's good for a one show boost on NWATNA, after that he's better off staying at home.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted June 12, 2003 The bottom line with Sting is this.....He is starting to wrestle more regularly than normal because he is getting rid of the ring rust and he should be starting for the WWE around Summerslam.
