Steve corino coming to the wwf?

Former ECW Champion Steve Corino was backstage at the WWF Smackdown taping last night. Corino was invited to the show by the WWF. The two sides discussed a possible announcing role for Corino in the WWF. The WWF has been trying out many wrestlers for announcing roles recently including D-Lo Brown, Dean Malenko, Steven Richards, and Raven.

ell, if they want him to be a top wrestler, all they have to do is deus him with Kurt so Angle can "elevate another midcarder"

That'd be cool...even though I've never actually watched a Steve Corino match or many ECW shows period but I've heard some really good things about him.

I don't think Corino's the most talented guy in the world (like a lot of ECW fans think) but the guy works too hard in the ring and is good enough not to be wasted in an announcing role.

And just for kicks, as far as the other guys go:

- D-Lo Brown: Definitely not announcing. He should be in charge of the WWF finances. Put that accounting talent to good use!

- Dean Malenko: He's better off as a trainer, or a booker for a cruiserweight division (should they actually get one going).

- Steven Richards: Might be good as an announcer, but I almost think Richards would fit in nicely in the manager trend that's happening lately.

- Raven: They gave the guy the Hardcore title last night (***SPOILER!***) Is that the best they can think of for him? Hell, he's got a creative mind, let him take over the writing team!

I wonder if he'll blade while he's announcing?

The thing I read in the Observer was that Vince looks at his forehead and doesn't want anything to do with him wrestling because he hates that "old school crap".

I'd be happy to see him announce but it sounds as if everyone in the business is getting a shot.

Corino: And he hits him with a powerbo...oh, look I'm bleeding again.

JR: BY GAWD! STEVE CORINO IS BUSTED WIDE OPEN! THAT BLOODY SON OF A BITCH!

I've heard in the past that aparently Vince isn't a big supporter of Corino's work and really neither am I.

Not sure where he would fit in the WWF??

A feud with Mr Perfect or someone low on the card I suppose.

If they can keep people like Aldo Montoya and XPac around, they should be able to find room for Corino.

Note to Yodeler and AM Kid, that was some funny shyte.

I like Corino a lot.  He has a good work ethic and has a love for the wrestling business so to see him in the WWF would have me marking out.  Personally I would rather see Corino wrestle but if Announcing is what gets him into the WWF then go for it.

I don't mind the WWF bringing him in as an announcer, but they need to be wary about putting him in the ring.  After all the strange crap that happened with him and the NWA belt (attempting to retire while holding the belt, screwy finishes where the NWA isn't sure who's champion, etc), I wouldn't use him in the ring often.

Could you imagine him as an announcer though with that scarred-up forehead? He probably looks like an albino Abdullah the Butcher by now. No way would Vince put that at the announce position... unless he goes with a pageboy haircut or wears one of JR's hats.

He would be a pretty good foil for Cole's uber-annoying face announcer. And the thought of him spontaneously bleeding on camera would be hilarious as well as revolting. In fact, he could use his blood to write on the TV screen like a telestrator... a red, viscous, nauseating telestrator.

;)

I don't think it would be a bad idea. I'd like to see him wrestle as well. Vince says he isn't a fan of his work, but like oldschoolwrestling said Also still has a job and I'd rather watch Corino wrestle any day

I never heard about this. How would this effect him wrestling in the WWF if he was hired though?

I like Corino...he'd probably do well as an announcer. (He has to be better than Lawler)

the only problem I would have with him as a WWF wrestler is that he's so damn small.  Is their a thinner person in wrestling that isn't named Misterio?

I do like his work though...he works hard and has a great gimmick.

I won't speak for anybody else, but in the case of Corino, he was just average. He was Credible with more blood. Nothing he did really stood out as impressive and, since people like mentioning how much the WWF shoves crap down the fans throats, Joey Styles shoved Corino down the fans throats WAY too hard.

Well, it does show a pattern of odd behavior.
