Guest caboose Report post Posted June 21, 2003 Two days ago I was thinking about things that happened two years ago, (before I had a sort of emotional breakdown), and on the radio they played '1979' by the Smashing Pumpkins. By the end of the song tears started rolling down my cheek. It was strange because I never really liked the Pumpkins, I just listened to the lyrics this time and they just choked me up. It's a touching tribute to the joy of being in a band, made extra sad when you factor in D. Boon's untimely death. I guess you could add Uncle Tupelo's "D. But Nirvana's Unplugged cover of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" and Offspring's "Denial, Revisited" brought me close after a break-up.... one of those times when I turned into a whiny emo kid for about fifteen minutes.
