Best carrying job ever?

I would have to go with Bret carrying British Bulldog at 1992 Summerslam. Bulldog had pretty much did nithing worth a crap as a singles worker from the time he left Stampede until this point other than some solid matches with Michaels. Plus, Bulldog get blown up in the first 5 minutes and looks confused as hell the rest of the time as Bret drags him along for another 23 minutes in the best match of his life and the closest thing to a perfect match that Bulldog has ever had.

Eddy carrying RVD at Judgment Day 02.

No one else has even come close to making RVD look as legitimite a wrestler.

I have to agree with Bret vs Bulldog.

I think even Bret admitted it was a complete carry.

Good choice. Benoit would have if RVD would fucking sell.

"Steamboat carrying Luger at GAB89."

GOOD CALL. I totally forgot about this match. This might actually be it instead of Bret/Bulldog. They are definitely #1 and #2 anyways.

Dynamite vs everyone in Stampede. I don't think there's anyone who could've done what he did here.

bret did more with less. davey WAS a better wrestler overall than luger, but even steamboat gave luger credit for being a hard worker back then who was in terrific shape. luger didn't blow up in the first 2 minutes of the match & have to be carried for the next 20, he was able to keep up with steamboat & play his part and steamboat didn't have to work around him so much.

about a third of the way through he talks about luger's main problem being psychology & gives no indication of being out of shape (in fact his issues came from wanting to go through moves too quickly), and that he was a hard worker who was very eager to learn. that's more than can be said of davey that particular night. also, if you look at the matches, luger is visibly doing quite a bit more work than davey is.

I heard Kawada did a great carry of Gary Albright which I want to check out. Probably some Liger match also, as he is one of the best carriers ever. :D

One thing I will give Luger is in his early days(up till 95) he very rarely blew up. Still I'd rank the two carry jobs pretty close.

Kawada/Albright. Kawada takes a slug in Gary Albright and brings him to an outstanding match.

Lyger vs. El Samurai 4/92

-Lyger not only carried El Samurai to a decent match, he busted out of the traditional junior match blue print, and carried him to what many consider to be the greatest junior match off all time.

Flair/Gigante. Sure it wasn't that great, but this is fucking Giant Gonzales we are talking about.

I think I heard somewhere that Steamboat went on a spree of carrying people like Barbarian to decent and long matches just to spite the management in wwf after he got jobbed out ot HTM, is this correct?

I don't know if this is true or not but it definitely sounds like something he would do.

I'll join the Bret love for carrying Bulldog to something as good as that

to throw a new one in there Steve Austin's carry job of Savio Vega at IYH Beware of Dog was nothing short of amazing

Bret's carry job of Nash at SS95 was much better.

a) the match was much better

b) IYH was more of a brawl than Bret/Diesel was

I haven't seen that match, so I couldn't comment on it.

That actually wasn't 100% Eddy's work. One of the only matches In which RVD's impressed me on his own. Obviously it was mostly a carry job cos it was RVD, but I've never before or since seen him vary his offence that much, or work the crowd in such a manner.

Any number of Ric Flair's early nineties matches against Lex Luger. Amazing stuff.
