PROMO: Reach out and touch someone.

In an almost empty gym, somewhere between Cleveland and Philadelphia, little can be heard, except the quiet clank of weights settling back to rest on one of the machines, a large metallic thunk ringing out every few seconds as one of the few people present does seemingly endless reps, sweat covering his body, and a look of dedication glimmering behind his eyes. Finally, the figure stops, leaning forward, breathing out a large breath and adjusting the mask that is settled over his features. Standing up, the figure reaches down for the Team Canada gym bag that is settled at his side, ready to head to the locker room, when the tinny sound of a cellphone ringing emerges from the canvas bag, the familiar tune of ‘Secret Agent Man’ filling the empty air. Setting the bag on the bench he was just sitting on, CIA reaches inside, pulling out his phone, flipping it open and putting it up to his ear after only a cursory glance at the name on the Caller ID.

 

“I guess I’ll never have a good day without you butting in to bother me, eh?”

 

Chuckling a bit at the response he gets, CIA smiles, and sits down as he continues to talk. “Yeah, I know, you hate the accent. It’s a business thing. And it IS good to hear from you. Did you catch the show? I’m eager for some feedback, and I’ve always trusted your opinion. Well, ever since you started using your brain.”

 

Laughing again, CIA listens intently to the figure on the other end of the line, body relaxing a bit. “Yeah, thanks, it is good to be back. I just finished working out, and I got an indy show later today. It’s on the way to the show, and hey, Philly shows. You gotta love that. They’re letting me work out some of the kinks, since I havn’t made my official in ring return yet. And I’ll need it, what with guys like Frost, LDP, Strangler, Tom Flesher…..FUCK Tom Flesher! Jinx!”

 

Smiling, CIA listens to the person on the other end of the line for a moment, and nods his head, as if agreeing with something. “Yeah, you are a bit predictable when it comes to that. So what’s up? You calling to try and get free tickets to the show or something?”

 

Stretching his neck out a bit, CIA switches the phone to his other hand, placing it back against his ear. “Uh-huh. Right. Yeah, I suppose I can make the time. Why you doing this, anyway? Oh, of course. To impress a woman. You never did look any good in the ring without me across from you. But hey, yeah, I could use the workout, so I can meet you at the arena before the show. Yeah, like what… 4:00 PM? Uh-huh. That gives us a couple hours. And you can stick around; catch my first match back, right? Uh-huh. Yeah. Well, I suppose you could bring this girl along, tell her that once upon a time you had the skills to beat a wrestler of my caliber. That is, if you’re not afraid she’ll want me afterwards. The ladies in the audience always did like ‘The Dream’ a tiny bit better than you.”

 

Laughing at the response to all this, CIA shakes his head, and smiles, looking over towards the clock. “Right, so I’ll see you then. Good talking to you.”

 

Hanging up his phone and tossing it back in the canvas bag, CIA pulls out a towel, wiping himself down a bit, then cleans the machine he was using, before pulling the pin out of the weights and setting it back to the much lower weight it was on before he started using it. Walking off towards the showers, CIA stops for just a moment, shaking his head with disbelief. “Geez. Who ever thought that he’d call me, now, of all times. This should be interesting.”

That's a nniicccceee promo, mang. The dialogue was great, real friendly and flows well, makes me like this CIA a lot, he seems so chummy and all.

I love the light hearted nature of this, which is something I think has been seriously lacking from the more 'serious' SWF we have. Bow down and praise the one and only kooky Canuck, C.I.A.
