Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted June 15, 2003 I just decided to check out the promo video for the show on WWEShopzone and its a promo for Goldberg vs. HHH! Now I know the wrong add went out in advance to many cable providers and it was too late to change, but you'd think on their OWN WEBSITE they'd change it to the correct video. Geesh. Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted June 15, 2003 Just a slip up? You have to think they realized they put that up there. Or they just dont care. Â So what, they put it up when the match was going ahead, and forgot about it. No biggie.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 15, 2003 The 'biggie' is them having the commercial air on national television. But that's pretty much well out of their control, THIS on the otherhand, should be - considering it's their website. Â This is SOOOO WCW.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 15, 2003 Anyone who thinks something like this is "no biggie", you MUST be working for WWE. You guys know me, and even I can admit when they horribly fuck up. Â There is NO excuse for something like this.

I'm pretty sure they could have "pulled" the ad and replace it with the RIGHT one, but didn't do so because it would have cost them money. I think I heard that report some time back. Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted June 15, 2003 It shows complete lack of effort or care on their part. If they don't care about their own product enough to make sure the correct match is being promoted on their website, then why she would we care enough to order it? Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted June 15, 2003 Yes, you got me. I'm not really called Nik, I'm Linda McMahon. Â I really don't see the big deal that they forgot to update one video, once. Â Sorry.

That's fine, and your opinion, but it shows that you have no idea about proper promotion, that's all.

Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted June 15, 2003 No, I have a lot of idea. Â In an ideal world, they should have changed it. In a REALLY ideal world, they shouldn't have to change it.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 15, 2003 The big deal comes in the fact that they think they can get away with it. It's a total lack of professionalism, and it reflects their attitude towards i)their fans and ii)their own product. At a time like this, when they are posting annual losses, they should be trying to run the tightest ship possible. What they are doing is very self-destructive... funny as fuck... but self-destructive. It's a classic WCW problem of the the head not knowing, or caring, about what the foot is doing. Sooner or later it's going to kick their own ass.
Guest RickyB Report post Posted June 15, 2003 Talk about utterly killing kayfabe. well... kayfabe's already dead and buried. This is stupid as fuck though.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 15, 2003 I wonder if they'll save this promo, and just edit it to the PPV it'll eventually be on, and then just use it, heh.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted June 15, 2003 Yeah it's stupid but maybe they're actually doing it to attract viewers to the pay per view. I bet alot of casual fans will turn it on expecting Triple H vs. Goldberg. WWE may be doing it on purpose.
Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted June 15, 2003 The big deal comes in the fact that they think they can get away with it. Â Isn't it more likely that they just forgot or didn't realise that the old video was still there?
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted June 15, 2003 I can't say I blame them for putting up the wrong promo video. I guess they know that Nash-HHH is not going to draw a dime either.

There are also some people, I'm sure, who can't watch the TV programs and orders the PPVs anyway based on the promos.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 15, 2003 They are a multi-million dollar, publically-traded, company - not a lemonade stand. "Just forgot" about a national advertisement for a PPV isn't understandable or justifiable*. Simply put, they don't think putting up the wrong ad matters; "The fans won't care" and such. Â *Or one that is on the internet. Hell, that could be changed in a day, but since they hate their internet fans, they probably keep it up just in spite. Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted June 15, 2003 So what, they aren't allowed to make mistakes because they are a big company? Â Remember WWE.com is the responsibility of a handful of guys (or monkeys in suits) Â The national advertisment (which we weren't talking about anyway) is a big fuck up. Yeah. Â The wweshopzone.com advert though... a minor thing.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 15, 2003 They aren't allowed to make silly -easily fixable- mistakes such as this. Â There are no minor things.
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted June 15, 2003 Someone should sue the WWE for false advertising. This is wrestlecrap at its finest. Either the WWE is lazy or they're just hoping to acquire a few extra buys from people that only watch PPV previews.
Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted June 15, 2003 They aren't allowed to make silly -easily fixable- mistakes such as this. Â And who are you to make that assertion?! They shouldn't make them, but things slip through the net once in a while. Cut them some slack. Â Someone should sue the WWE for false advertising.
