Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 18, 2003 BTW, I want to say this about the Clippers... I saw alot of thier games this year and noticed something. They would be taking thier usual ass kicking with only Brand, Maggetee and Miller looking like they are actually trying and then get sat down in the 4th quarter. Wang "I'm a chinese Dirk if any one would give me run" Zhi Zhi and Marko Jaric would come in and put them back into the game...well cut a good 12 points off of the lost. Wang has great touch, hustles on the Defensive board...why could this guy get no PT on a losing team. marko Jaric is a great ball handler, passer and finisher...a streak shooter true, but a good all around player. Why in the hell were they so buried on the bench? Simple. Alvin Gentry did not like Wang because he could not play defense. Marko played well throughout the year but for some reason did not make the 1st or 2nd all rookie teams. Bottom line is that Gentry can’t coach and both Marko and Wang will greatly benefit if the Clips don’t resign Kandi or Andre Miller.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted June 18, 2003 Both are free agents and both can have a place in Phoenix any day. You guys could take Tom Gugliotta and Joe Johnson for all I care. Those guys aren't staying in Clipper land. Sterling will be hard pressed to hold on to these guys because I refuse to believe that the rest of the league didn't see what I saw. Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 18, 2003 Actually, both Wang and Marko signed 3 year deals with the team so they are forced to stay at least 2 more seasons. Googs is washed up and Joe Johnson actually has a lot of promise. If there is anyone the Suns need to get rid of, its Penny and his HUGE salary. I can see the Suns benefitting with a real center like Kandi or at worst, Brad Miller.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted June 18, 2003 if i were the spurs, i would take some foreign guy that no one has ever heard of with the last pick and then polish him up before unleashing him on the league in 2 years!!!!

Guest bravesfan Report post Posted June 19, 2003 I thought the Grizzlies had the Kings pick? Yeah, they do. The 27th pick in the 1st round (formerly the Kings) was given to the Grizzle in turn for taking Jason Williams off their hands... Kidding. The pick started with the Kings, which then belonged to the Magic (reason?), which was then involved in the Mike Miller/pair of rookies deal. The Kings do have a second-round pick, though. ESPN.com "Wacky Bracket" Tournament...Round One Looking back at the NBA's lottery-team draft picks since 1985 is an eye-opening exercise. Some picks were brilliant, sure, but most revealed themselves to be of the "What the hell were they smoking?" variety. Round One Matchups No. 1 vs. Bye No. 8 vs. No. 9 No. 5 vs. No. 12 No. 4 vs. No. 13 No. 3 vs. Non-Lottery 1st-Rounders No. 6 vs. No. 11 No. 7 vs. No. 10 No. 2 vs. 2nd-Rounders Page 2 matched up each of the lottery-pick draft slots since '85 in a winner-take-all bracket, at each spot using the "Best 3," "Worst 3" and "Mixed Bag" leftovers to determine which draft position has yielded the best crop of players. Taking into serious consideration the disadvantages of drafting as the position gets worse, our most revealing discovery is how mediocre most of these picks turned out to be. Judge for yourself. When he went down they started dropping like flies all the way to the ten spot. He came back and they rose back to eight. He has a huge salary, but he still earns it. Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Rip, why you dissing Joe Johnson? Dude is young and has some game and was the teams 6th man. Anyway, my team the Bulls should try to con the Nuggets into taking Jay Williams and the 7th pick so they can get the 3rd pick mostly likely Carmelo Anthony. Anyway, my team the Bulls should try to con the Nuggets into taking Jay Williams and the 7th pick so they can get the 3rd pick mostly likely Carmelo Anthony. Well, lets see. Joe gives you a good quarter out of every 15 he plays, he is too timid with the ball (which is weird because when he is having a good quarter, he goes to the hole all day). He loves to dribble in one place for the entire shot clock, he has a jumper that falls once every blue moon but doesn't stop him from taking it... While he does have good defensive ability, he isn't any better than Casy Jacobson who SHOULD be getting more PT but can't because of Frank Johnsons infactuation with Joe Johnson. PLUS he had 5 freakin turnovers in the fourth quarter of game six of the first round this year when the Suns were nursing a lead and would have forced a game seven. I say send him off for Jaric, and the Colangelos should stop acting like they got the better end of the Randy Brown, Milt Palacio, Joe Johnson for Rodey Rogers/Tony Delk deal. And Bo Outlaw is the 6th man...with Jake Voskal as the 7th. Joe falls somewhere between Jake Tskilidisiofisdu and Tom Googs.
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Johnson is just young , He can handle the rock and is decent slasher. I bet he'll have a break out season. I hope the Bulls could get Maggette if nothing doesn't workout. Can anybody seen Chris Bosh play? I never seen him play. Every scout is talking about how a good player he can potentially become. Guest Ripper Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Oh, and this years sleeper who will go late in the first round and probably make the most impact...Jarvis Hayes. Mark my words. The man from Georgia will be something and something NOW.
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 I will say Brian Cook will be a steal and a possible sleeper in late 1st or early second round. Since the scouts don't think highly of him. But he can handle the ball, good range on his jumper, and has good rebounding skills.

I guess if he's guranteed Top 3 pick next year at 19 that's not bad, but do you think at all his agent may have advised him to withdraw because he was likely to be drafted by the Clippers? Not Clipper hating either.
