Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Jordan is in charge of the Bucks. Better get used to dumb personel moves, you're gonna be seeing a lot of them. I hope NY takes the big Polish guy, the crowd will riot. EDIT: a good pick...by the Knicks? I've gone crosseyed.
Guest lomasmoney Report post Posted June 27, 2003 jordan officially owns the bucks now
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 27, 2003 So is Collins going to be the Bucks coach and will Jordan trade or not sign Cassell and Payton? Then complain that the team does not have the killer instint after he plays 38 minutes a game himself.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted June 27, 2003 One less team for Toronto to pass to the playoffs, I guess...
Guest lomasmoney Report post Posted June 27, 2003 ok where does this pietrus guy fit in in golden state. They already have dunleavy and richardson and jamison and then they take another 2-3 swingman type player. Maybe this is a trade bait deal

Guest GameCop Report post Posted June 27, 2003 (edited) Ha!! The Lakers chose Luke Walton who happens to be Bill Walton's son!!!! If you thought Bill Walton was biased towards the Lakers before, you haven't seen nothing yet!! I could just see it now-- Bill Walton: Alongside the most dominant player in the history of the League, Shaquille O'neal, Luke Walton is a premiere player in this league. Throw it down, Luke!!! Throw it down!!!............The Lakers are the greatest team in the history of professional sports... Edited June 27, 2003 by GameCop

Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Bill Walton actually takes a lot of pot shots at his kid, at least he did when he would call college games every now and again. He even got the infamous "Terrrrrrible pass by Luke Walton" Think he even called one of his shots "Hoooorrrible" I still pray for the drafting of Manute Bol and just before he shakes David Stern's hand, the Fridge comes in and knocks him out like on Celebrity Boxing. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Im happy that the Wizards drafted Steve Blake. Blake and Dixon! Whoohoo. I really don't know much about Hayes to say much about the pick...
Gert T 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 I loved Bilas's comment on how Ridnour couldn't guard his chair. I was a little confused by the two picks of Memphis, but if JW believes he has his starting 5 fairly set I guess it isn't terrible to go after some role players. Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 I don't like the Hinrich pick he's a John Paxson clone. they could have gotten a vet PG thru free agency. Don't know why they got Mario Austin when they're already deep at PF.
Guest ShamRock Report post Posted June 27, 2003 What happend to the Kings? How come they didn't get to pick?
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted June 27, 2003 I believe the Kings traded their draft picks to the Celts for someone whos name I can't remember at the moment.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Jay Bilas was actually critical tonight. He's never like that on college basketball.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 27, 2003 I think my Magic did a good job tonight. Hopefully it TMAC will have next year and AT LEAST get to Conference.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 27, 2003 The Magic will make past the 1st round becaue Drew Gooden is on the team a full season. He has a good chance to be a 18-10 player next year.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 27, 2003 speaking of Drew Gooden, when did Jerry West become the worst GM of ALL TIME??? What the fuck is he doing? I mean the Grizzlies were already awful, and he's making them even worse, and quickly. In a few years Stern will just have to bury this team at the bottom of the ocean and stick all the players in a rocket and shoot them into space or something, just to make sure the rest of the league doesn't get infected by thier crap. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted June 27, 2003 People always stuff like that after Jerry West does something that everybody thinks looks stupid. Then it turns out to work. I think he's done a great job with what he has to work with. In the next year or two things will get a lot better. Once they lose the stupid contracts and bad deals the previous management made. Bryant Reeves is STILL the highest paid player on this team at 12 mill a year. His contract ends soon, Person is wasting cap space at 7 mill a year, they're still paying Tony Massenburg 1.8 after releasing him, they've been paying Michael Dickerson 5.5 a year and he hasn't played one game since signing the contract that I can remember. Even Brevin Knight is making 5 million a year. I like the guy, but 5 million to be a backup? Once all these contracts get off the books and he most likely moves a few more players he'll have some cap space finally to build the team. This team has the 7th highest payroll in the league and it's all going to stiffs, injured players or players no longer on the team. THAT is what is killing the team, not West's moves. Think about this crap, the only players in the league that made more money than Bryant Reeves for this past season are Kevin Garnett, Shaquille O'Neal, Alonzo Mourning, Juwan Howard, Scottie Pippen, Karl Malone, Rasheed Wallace, Dikembe Mutombo, Allan Houston and Chris Webber. Bryant Reeves makes more than Bryant, McGrady, Duncan, Iverson, Carter, Nowitzki, Pierce and Kidd. Plus he'd be the highest paid player on 21 of the teams. Dammit, now I'm all into looking at salaries. One more funny note. Only 10 years ago the highest payroll in the league was 23 million. The Cavs were the highest paid team in the league believe it or not. TODAY, the LOWEST team payroll is the Clippers with 42 million. So the lowest is a little less than half of the highest 10 years ago. Only 10 years difference. Amazing. Yeah, there's nothing wrong with sports today. Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 27, 2003 I think the Clips did good with Kamen and "Baby" Shaq. Looks like Kandiman is out and the team actually made qualifying offers to Maggette, Odom, Brand and Miller. TJ Ford is going to be a bust and the Bucks definitely would be better served resigning Payton and trying to win the East now.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted June 27, 2003 TJ Ford is going to be Brevin Knight pt. II. He will be a good backup point guard, but not a superstar. Wouldn't exactly call that a bust. With the 17th pick in the NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns select....Zarko Cabarkapa? Okay, the guy is 7'0 tall and can shoot...cool...BUT MACIEJ LAMPE WAS STILL AVAILABLE!!!! WHY!! WHY!!! Damn you COlangelos. Well, one of these 7 foot shooters will make a difference...I just get the fealling that Lampe will be more of a impact than Cabarkapa... Leandrinho Barbosa at 28 is going to be big. HOPEFULLY, he will push Joe Johnson out of the line up.
Guest The Fett Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Dick Vitale made the draft unwatchable. He's got to be the biggest xenophobe in all of America. They couldn't go to him once without him changing the subject to how there's going to be a huge backlash with all these foreigners coming into the NBA and what a huge mistake these GM's are making drafting these evil foreigners. How many times did he bash Detroit for taking Darko over Melo. You'd think he learned his lesson last year when he claimed the Rockets were making a colossal mistake passing on Jay Williams for Yao Ming.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 27, 2003 While its very unprofessional, I can see why he has a hard-on for the college kids. It’s his claim to fame for crying out loud! The Euros are more polished and ready to play. They understand the game and have the footwork, court sense and fundamentals that a lot of the up and comers here don’t possess. Obviously, not all the European prospects are going to make it but how many college and high schoolers have fell off the face of the earth after getting drafted.
