Guest Polish_Rifle Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 The 7’5 Russian dude just withdrew his name from the draft. He does not want to be considered a project, so he’ll go back to play ball in Italy and come back next year. I guess if he's guranteed Top 3 pick next year at 19 that's not bad, but do you think at all his agent may have advised him to withdraw because he was likely to be drafted by the Clippers? Not Clipper hating either. I don't think so, because he was going to get guaranteed $$$ for the next 5 years anyway. He could develop his game with a lesser team, like my Clips, and then go for the big bucks once he turns 23-24 after his game has fully developed.
Gert T Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Well it looks like any Chicago PG to Denver for the 3rd pick deal is out now. The only way I see Denver still doing a deal is if they throw Eddy Curry as the player to go with the 7th pick. I know it is a lofty comparision, but I really see a young Kevin Garnett in Chris Bosh, and although Toronto has Carter and Davis I would still take Bosh because I think he has the most potential to be a superstar player, and since there's only 5 spots instead of the 22 for football, you almost always have to take the best player.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 The Raptors need an inside presence like Rasheed Wallace. I’m not sure if more rookies is what they need at this point.
Guest lomasmoney Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I'll take the Mavs even though i really wanted Los Pistons
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Can I have a second team ? Give me New York. I won't do what Layden did, which is screw up a Draft. Unless... Bravesfan, Would you consider giving up Chicago ?

Guest Vern Gagne Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Scratch the Wolves for me. I'm not up on the draft enough, and don't have enough interest to do so.

Guest Polish_Rifle Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 There is a rumor that the Knicks are looking to trade their 9th pick along with Spreewell to the Sixers for Van Horn or possibly to the Raptors for a package with Jerome Williams or Antonio Davis.
Guest Ripper Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Is there any other player in the world that will average 20 pts and 10 boards a game and be so unliked by GMS as Keith Van Horn. This guy gets thrashed because he isn't a superstar. Everyone isn't meant to be superstars.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 I think the fact that he's a white shooter, everyone expects the next Larry Bird. At least, teams still want him and he still has trading value.
Bored Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Hmmm its looking doubtful the mock draft will get off the ground here and I'm moving this week so if it starts and I'm not around when my pick comes up (#11 and #40) somebody can just choose for me.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 I think it's alot harder to do a mock NBA draft when you really don't know anything about half the players in the draft. With the NFL you at least know and maybe follow the players while they're in college.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 I think the NBA draft will be like the board's NFL draft. remember when Kelly Washington went like 8th or something? That is totally going to happen.
Guest Shanghai Kid Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I'll take the Washington Wizards. By the way, where does everybody think Corey Magettie is going to end up next year? I'd like to see him in a Wiz uniform.
Gert T Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I think the NBA draft will be like the board's NFL draft. remember when Kelly Washington went like 8th or something? That is totally going to happen. While that was obviously too high for Washington, you have to remember that THE expert Kiper had Steinbach, Washington, and Weathersby in the 1st round. Obviously Weathersby was an outside circumstance but it really shows that we all are "experts" to a certain degree.
Guest Lethargic Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I'll do the Grizzlies and Pacers.. Hell, I'll take all the rest of the teams if nobody else wants them. haha Hell, I'll do the whole thing myself if you want.
