Bored Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Despite the claims made last night on RAW, next Monday's RAW which will take place in Madison Square Garden is not sold out yet. WWE looks to be pulling out all the stops for the show, advertising a Mick Foley appearance as well as a World Heavyweight Title match between Triple H and Kane. Credit: 1wrestling.com I typically don't buy into most of what 1wrestling reports but I did wonder why they hell they would show the number for tickets to the show last night even though it was supposedly sold out?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 "The way I see it, wrestling is a work - so everything you hear from us is a work - including attendance figures" - Vince McMahon. Paraphrased from Dave Meltzer who, when asking McMahon about lying about attendance figures, was given that answer.
Guest NoCalMike Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 why would anyone think Kane could win the belt? There is little buildup, and even marks don't believe Triple H can lose anymore.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 HHH vs. Kane wouldn't exactly have me running to the box office, either.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 HHH v. Kane doesn't even have me running to the VCR to record Raw next week.
Guest Nobody in Particular Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 And how are they convincing people to buy tickets by saying none are available?
Guest JRE Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Trying TicketMaster.com I get: -No tickets availible at $50 level -Tickets availible at $40 level but only 1 ticket...nothing came up when I tried 2. -At $35 level, same as $40 -At least 8 seats together avalible at $30 level -At $15 level, same as $30 Anyways, the claims of sellout are pretty safe for the WWE to say with those figures- anything else can be sold last minute at the box office (which is often done when extra seats are released at the last minute) or given to radio stations and such. "Sellout" is more of an estimate than an exact for all events.
Guest bob_barron Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 It will most likely be a sellout- I think they can claim it without getting shit on
Murmuring Beast Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Kane will win the title. I'll never watch again if he doesn't.
Guest FatKane Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 LMAO~! Kane will not win the title. He will lose the match, his mask, and he'll join Evolution anyway. He will join because Triple H has the Katie Vick dummy that he wants.
Guest Choken One Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 did we ever find out who the fuck squealed on Kane?
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Bah. Kane will win by DQ and nothing will happen that doesn't happen every week. My main thought is telling people there are no tickets left for the MSG show is certainly an interesting way of getting people to buy tickets for the MSG show.
TheFranchise Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Kane won't win the title. I'll never watch again if he doesn't. HHH goes over the 'top face' on raw (not the way normal people see it, just the wwe way) with a face referee in the 'most dangerous match in history (also used on Cage, Inferno, Casket, well, ANY gimmick match is the most dangerous apparently)' and even marks are going to be wondering when HHH/Goldberg is going to happen, why would they drop the title to Kane? Say Kane wins the title, who are they going to have challenge him on Raw? HHH?
Murmuring Beast Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Van Dam. Van Dam wins it, Triple H, gets it back, Goldberg keeps it till next year, fucks off and forfeits it and Orton wins a tournament. S'it's easy.
Guest AndrewTS Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 "The way I see it, wrestling is a work - so everything you hear from us is a work - including attendance figures" - Vince McMahon. Paraphrased from Dave Meltzer who, when asking McMahon about lying about attendance figures, was given that answer. Vince lie? *gasp* I think it's a bad thing when the only thing keeping me from even bothering to tape or watch Raw at all is the debut of female spot wrestler with only a couple years experience. HHH-Kane will suck as it always sucks. Although I wonder if HHH will top No Mercy's WORST THUMB TO THE EYE EVER.
TheFranchise Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Van Dam wins it Okay, what have you been smoking? Think i found a catchphrase
Murmuring Beast Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 You knows things are gonna get better. Triple H is running shit scared backstage of people like Foley and Goldberg who have weight behind the scenes. Kane or Van Dam will get their chance.
TheFranchise Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 *points at the title on the left* Believe it or not guys, triple h is starting to put on GOOD matches again, and if's wrestling to an appropriate level, i dont mind him holding the championship. oh yeah. fuck goldberg.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 You knows things are gonna get better. Like how when Austin comes back, he'd put an end to the politics and to the HHH ego trip? Remember that prediction?
Murmuring Beast Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Yea, Austin's a big sell out. He's put down some of the shit that was happening and he comes back and makes another man roll in it! Sell out 3:16, I'm afraid.
TheFranchise Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I think that was more of McMahon pissing on Bisch.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 The only way Kane will start winning his matches again is if they put Taker on the same show. Taker will use his stroke to get Kane over just about anyone (except HHH).

I don't give a fuck if he is improving again. He's so overexposed I still won't watch him.
Guest Kamui Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Pretty simple reason why the MSG RAW isn't sold out- there's an MSG Smackdown the night after. I and pretty much any smarks I know around here chose to go to the Smackdown over the RAW, for obvious reasons. -Duo
Guest The Czech Republic Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 "The way I see it, wrestling is a work - so everything you hear from us is a work - including attendance figures" - Vince McMahon. Which obviously also includes "We're building new stars," "the brand extension is a success," and "The economy is the reason for our downturn" as things that have come out of WWE which must be works too.
Guest bob_barron Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Or you could be like me and go to both
