Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted June 17, 2003 http://www.meridianbooster.com/story.php?id=63744 This is the bullshit that happens in my town because we have 42 churches and 22000 people. I'm not saying they were in the right but I don't think it should be blown so out of proprtion.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I don't get it. It's just an article about the video/show? What are you pissed about? Some of that stuff was just awful. Seriously don't these kids have lives?
Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted June 17, 2003 It's the worst written article of journalism I've ever seen and its completely one sided. At least 1/2 of all of our city officials have had at least some kind of major involvement with the church which is why things like this happen. Like the guy says....we can pump thousands of dollars into border markers (4 giant carrot colored towers to mark the border between alberta and saskatchewan that NOBODY likes) but we can't spend money to give the kids in town anything to do. Guest HungryJack Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Why the fuck should anyone have to spend money to give kids anything to do??? get outside and do something. Play football. Ride a bike. Or stay inside and read a book. The LAST thing the world needs is another bunch of pansy-assed kids whining because 'there's nothing to do'. Use your damned imagination. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted June 17, 2003 So are you trying to defend the video? I counted at least five different laws they broke while shooting this video, and that's just from the descriptions provided; there was probably even more than that going on. If they've got video cameras and are so damn bored, why don't they just go shoot their own ordinary, non-Jackass-ripoff, non-lawbreaking home movies?
Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I'm not defending the video. I think the video was dumb and they deserve to be fired for selling it in the CD store (which they are). What I'm against is the fact the paper wrote a one sided article basically crucifing these guys.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2003 This happened in Alberta? First I've heard about it.

They wrote an article "crucifing" these guys because they were breaking the law fucking up. What do you expect them to do, praise them?
Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted June 18, 2003 I guess it makes more sense if you're from where I'm from where the church runs everything and 9/10 of the things that go wrong we can blame on the church. An ex-church leader alderman decided we shouldn't have adult entertainment so our strip clubs were instantly out of business and the 2 coming to town were told they couldn't get licensed. In fact half of our elected officials worked with the church in some major way at one point in their careers. I should explain better when I bitch
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 18, 2003 While I think the tape would've been funny, the fact that several people seem to be underage, I believe, is the HUGE reason for people bitching. Also, some of these don't even sound funny. Pissing on a kid while he drinks water? Not cool. That's borderline pornographic right there. As for spending the money on something for the kids to do, I feel this is SOMETHING of a necessity. Even a half-assed community center would be a good idea (assuming that there isn't one in existence). Community centers aren't bad ideas, they're good, as they give kids that otherwise have nothing to do or nowhere to hang out with people a place to go. If the community center in my town wasn't all about "hey, don't argue, just shake hands and act like nothing ever happened," I'd probably go there more often.
