Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 We need to keep these artists of hate out of the ears of our children... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,89759,00.html PHILADELPHIA — Four teenagers charged with beating a 16-year-old boy to death plotted the killing for weeks and listened to the Beatles song "Helter Skelter" (search) several dozen times before the murder, according to an alleged confession read in court. Edward Batzig Jr., 16; Justina Morley, 15; Dominic Coia, 18; and Dominic's 16-year-old brother Nicholas were ordered Tuesday to stand trial as adults on murder charges. Prosecutors said they were considering seeking the death penalty for the three oldest boys. Morley is too young to be sentenced to death under state law. The four are accused of killing Jason Sweeney in a vacant lot on May 30. Police contend that Morley promised sex to lure Sweeney to the lot, where the other three beat him with a hatchet, a hammer and a brick. He was robbed of $500 he earned on a construction job. Philadelphia Medical Examiner (search) Ian Hood testified that the attackers broke all but one of the bones in Sweeney's face. According to Dominic Coia's alleged confession, the youths listened to "Helter Skelter" 42 times and had a "group hug" immediately after the killing. They allegedly used the money to buy drugs. "We got his wallet and we partied beyond redemption," Coia supposedly told investigators. In 1969, Charles Manson (search) and his followers killed nine people in the Los Angeles area in what prosecutors said was an attempt to start a race war that Manson believed was prophesied in "Helter Skelter."
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Does anyone think tthat Tipper Gore is going to start a nationwide campain to ban the Beatles like she did with Eminem? It is sad someone got killed but when will people stop blaming music?
Guest MD2020 Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Note to all future murderers and sociopaths: Helter Skelter is about a fucking ROLLER COASTER*. Please stop killing people because of it. Thank you. * Read about this on another message board discussing this case a day or two ago. Haven't really verified it yet though. If I am wrong please correct me. P.S. This story is pretty fucked up--it's been all over the news here in Philly. Hopefully these punks get what's coming to them.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Sick fucks like that are going to kill someone anyway. The song is just a scapegoat for shit parenting and asshole kids.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 So, they just admitted they took the guys money and bought drugs for it. Isn't it at all possible that this is a DRUG-related crime?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Isn't it at all possible that this is a DRUG-related crime? Nope...it's all The Beatles fault.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 I heard the original title to "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" was "I Wanna Hold Your Hand While I Bury a Hammer Into Your Skull", but record execs feared that it wouldn't attract the right demographic...
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 I thought Helter Skelter was about one of those spiral slides.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Oh, and I just can't wait until a psychopathic Kenny G. fan murders a few people because a particularly vapid saxophone solo told him to.
Guest hardyz1 Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 This reminds me of something that was on Tough Crowd a couple months back. They were discussing something like this. Brian Posehn said "Bad music makes me want to kill, ya know? Nickelback makes me want to kill...Nickelback." I thought it was funny, even though I like Nickelback.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 You deserve a swift kick in the groin for diggin Nickelback. Anyways, I think it's a little sad knowing that the poor guy died while being displayed as a pervert. Seriously, how much does it suck for a parent to know that his kid was killed because he was thinking with his dick as opposed to his brain. I would be depressed to be sure.
Guest goodhelmet Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 I thought Helter Skelter was about one of those spiral slides. that is exactly what it is about. not a rollercoaster. do you think ringo got blisters on his fingers after using maxwell's silver hammer to kill michelle after she was only sleeping with dr. robert? just a thought.
Guest Dangerous A Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 I think anyone who uses the "music made me do it" defense in a murder case and is found guilty should be put to death the next fucking day. No appeals. Just death. You are a fucking nimrod if you can't come up with a better defense than music made me do it and since you are a waste of oxygen, you should be sentenced to die the next day. That way our tax dollars aren't wasted one more day on another set of complete fucking idiots.
Guest Harry Hood Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide Til I stop then I turn and I go for a ride Til I get to the bottom and I see you again!!! HELTER SKELTER Now do my killing minions!

Thanks for the correction. I was going by memory, so I'm not surprised I was wrong. Still not a reason to kill.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Of course it is. THOSE GOD DAMN SPIRAL SLIDES.
Guest BDC Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Well, hey, hearing the Beatles makes me want to kill... so they'll stop playing the damned music. Anyway, this is pathetic. Buncha wannabe players.
Guest godthedog Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Well, hey, hearing the Beatles makes me want to kill... so they'll stop playing the damned music. Anyway, this is pathetic. Buncha wannabe players. don't be hatin' on the beatles, i'll get my posse from the music folder to pop a proverbial cap in your rhetorical ass.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Kinda off topic, but I wonder what would happen if they found some kids killed each other after listening to the national anthem a bunch of times.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Yeah, what with all the rockets red glare, and bombs bursting in air. Whoa, the National Anthem is encouraging kids to become suicide bombers.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 "I Wanna Hold Your Hand While I Bury a Hammer Into Your Skull" You're correct. Some 30 years later, Cannibal Corpse got ahold of a demo of this, and covered it. However, they changed the title to "Hammer Smashed Face." Also, Tipper Gore is a facist swine that deserves to be flung into a raging maelstrom via trebuchet. The PMRC (parental music ratings council) is even more horrific than the RIAA. I refused to vote for Gore last election based solely on the fact that the two were married.
Guest BDC Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Well, hey, hearing the Beatles makes me want to kill... so they'll stop playing the damned music. Anyway, this is pathetic. Buncha wannabe players. don't be hatin' on the beatles, i'll get my posse from the music folder to pop a proverbial cap in your rhetorical ass. Wannabe players referring to these Mason wannabes. But the Beatles... My brother DRIVES THEM INTO THE GROUND and it frustrates me. EDIT: I wonder how Tipper Gore justitifes what she does. She's not a 'politician', so basically, what she does is flip off everyone in the country and say "You can't take care of yourself so we're going to chain you to a wall and make you listen to Kenny G."
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Kinda off topic, but I wonder what would happen if they found some kids killed each other after listening to the national anthem a bunch of times. Call them terrorists...
Foshi Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Helter Skelter has one of the coolest basslines ever. I will start killing people if it's banned.
