Guest KTA Report post Posted March 28, 2002 Actually all of ya are right. The WCW nvasion was meant 2 b great and it was the greatest botched angle of all time. It DId have great writing for the wwf and it's wwf characters (Stone, Angle, uhhh) and that's all. Where was the chance to see two of the mightiest, greatest american wrestling companies struggle for supremecy? Why'd we get WWF vs.Austin and so on? Angle is the major player who will turn? It was poorly poorly written by stupid heads that like making poo It was supposed to be great, and it was a flop made into a Stone Cold / Angle / VINCE MACMAN story. Guest Report post Posted March 28, 2002 I think it was only bad because we never got the maches the people wanted Austin/Goldberg HHH/Steiner instead we got booker t vs bagwell as a main event. I thought it was somewhat entertaining but not anywhere near as good as it could have been
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 28, 2002 i'm still pissed off about how ddp nd booker t were miss used
Guest Report post Posted March 28, 2002 The biggest mistake they made with the invasion is they jumped the gun WAY to quick. If they just held off a few months and waited for the nwo, flair, steiner, misterio, I think it wouldve been great
Guest Risk Report post Posted March 28, 2002 I think i remember that risk. Wasnt it about the mayor? Im almost positive though he wasnt a face yet. Nope, he WAS a "face". I don't like using the words "heels" and "faces" because I like it turns wrestling into a Bugs Bunny cartoon but...yeah, he was deepy going against "the bad guys". Guest TheMikeSC Report post Posted March 28, 2002 Yeah, can you imagine Austin doing any of that shit? >>> What, playing the suck-up? Re-watch WWF TV from WM X-7 until the match where Benoit & Jericho won the World Tag Titles. You'll see him do it with gusto. <<<I was watching Revenge of the Taker and Cold Day in Hell, where "The Blue Chipper" Rocky Maivia took on Savio Vega and Mankind respectively. There is such a big difference that all I could do was laugh at the cheesiness that was Rocky Maivia. >>> Let's try and remember that Rocky had, what, a year of experience at that time? The WWF did him no favors sticking him on TV all of the time. I figured they learned their lesson---but they're doing the same thing to Maven. -=Mike
Guest Report post Posted March 28, 2002 Was i the only one laughing when the rock and hulk were dq'd Hulk gave this look of utter shock.
Guest Report post Posted March 28, 2002 So the first thing i saw was rock make Chyna get down on her knees and tell her he would never kiss a piece of trash like her. I kind of remember that too. What was the context that happened in? "Maybe im the only one but i liked the invasion, i mean sure it wasnt what everyone dreamed it would be, but it was a hell of a lot better than the "McMahon Helmsley era" or the draft that made absolutely no sence." I know the draft sucked ass but what didn't make sense about it?!!?!?!?!
Guest The Fett Report post Posted March 28, 2002 I think the 'Rocky Sucks' chants that the Rock recieved in Canada has pretty much forced Rock to become what he is now. If Rock starts acting heelish again the crowds would begin to think he's heel and begain booing him even more. He pretty much has no choice but to suck up to Hogan. Sometimes I wish Rock was more selfish. If he would have refused to work with Hogan, like Austin did, he probably would not be in the position he is now, as Hogan's lackey. Guest Report post Posted March 28, 2002 That was right before the rock hhh ladder match, when dx was locked in the back, and the only reason why i dont think it made sence was because mark henry was picked like what 6 or 7? and the hardy boys, william regal, even jericho was picked afterwards. Guest Y2DAYDAY Report post Posted March 29, 2002 even jericho was picked afterwards. Jericho was in the lottery and NOT picked because he was in the world title match on RAW. Don't you people even watch the shows?
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted March 29, 2002 The Rock was booed all of one time. Don't make it out like the fans are slowly turning against him or anything. What happened at WrestleMania was an abberation. It wouldn't have happened in any other city in the world, and I'm not even completely sure why it happened in Toronto. His character is getting pretty ridiculously watered-down at this point, but to imply that the fans in Toronto booing him was a sign that people are tired of him is just ludicrous. Guest Kinetic Report post Posted March 29, 2002 i look at the blue chipper to rock transition that vince can truly make anyone a star. Eh. It isn't all that amazing that he managed to make a star out of an incredibly talented and charismatic wrestler. He couldn't make a star out of Jeff Jarrett, although he tried on about six different occasions. He can't make a star out of Test, though we've been subjected to his failed pushes time and time again. These guys and many, many more didn't have what it takes to become a star in the WWF. As soon as Rock turned heel, it was pretty apparent that he had "it."
Guest RepoMan Report post Posted March 29, 2002 I agree, the Rock is super-stale right now. It's too late now, but it would have been cool if Rock doubled crossed Hogan and joined the NWO. NWO would have looked like an actually threat to the WWF, and Rock could be a prick again. I think Blue Chipper comparisons are very apt. Only that character could be best buds with someone who tried to kill less than two months ago.
Guest Report post Posted March 30, 2002 Posted on Mar. 28 2002,21:30 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jericho was in the lottery and NOT picked because he was in the world title match on RAW. Don't you people even watch the shows? yeah we KNOW jericho was picked afterwards dumbass, that was implied in the posts, Dont u people even read the posts? But why was Steven Richards picked before him?
Guest Report post Posted March 30, 2002 because It was a lottery...you know...random. And the reason Mark Henry was picked so high is because they want him to become a star, and someone who isn't the most over person in the company might get a good rub from being pick so high up.
