Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 20, 2003 This topic stems from me winning an e-bay auction for P Cutta's Street Wars volume's 1-7 mixtapes. Most people (even those who aren't that into hip hop) know of the now legendary dis record "Hit em up" by Tupac dissing Biggie. After things cooled down following Biggie and Tupac's murders, disses and battling back and forth have come back in a major way led by Nas vs Jay-Z and continuing on until now. What are some dis records that stand out to you from past and present. Here are some of mine that I can think of. Past Dre Day(dissing Luke and Eazy) Real Muthafuckin G's by Eazy-E (dissing Dre and Snoop) Can't **** wit a Nigga by DJ Quik (dissing Everlast) Hit em Up by Tupac (dissing Biggie, Chino XL, Mobb Deep, and Junior Mafia) LA, LA by Mobb Deep (dissing the West Coast) Present The Sauce and Nail in the Coffin by Eminem (dissing Benzino) Die Another Day by Benzino (dissing Em, Zino isn't good but this track is stinging) I smell Pussy by 50 Cent (dissing Ja Rule and Murder Inc) Loose Change by Ja Rule (dissing 50 and Em, I can't stand Ja but this is a good dis) Ether by Nas (dissing Jay-Z) Super Ugly by Jay-Z (dissing Nas) Girlz by Eminem (dissing Fred Durst and DJ Lethal) Back Down by 50 Cent (dissing Ja and Irv Gotti) The Realest Label by Eminem (dissing Murder Inc and Benzino) Hail Mary by Eminem, 50, and Busta Rhymes (dissin Ja and Irv) Doe Ray Me by Eminem w/ D-12 and Obie Trice (dissing Benzino and Murder Inc, good dis but I can't stand D-12) They want War by DMX (dissing Ja Rule) A ho by Juvenile (dissing Lil Wayne) Suge is a bitch by Snoop Dog (dissing Suge Knight) Mobb Niggas by Prodigy of Mobb Deep (dissing Jay-Z) Y'all don't really want it by KRS One (dissing Nelly) Take em Out by KRS One (dissing Nelly) Do you have any more you'd like to share? Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I'm a little out of whack. Why are Em and Durst feuding? They even did a song together. I'd like to add "N.Y.P.D" by 50 Cent. It was on my copy of Get Rich or Die Tryin, but since it was a copy I don't believe it was on bought versions. It sounds like 50, it may not be him. All I know is that I like it. It's a diss about Ja Rule. EDIT: Also, "I Remember" by Eminem is a great Everlast diss. EDITX2: Oh God. I just downloaded "Doe Ray Me". Eminem: Hey, Hallie! Give me my Oscar. ... I'm going to stick it up Ja Rule's ass. Hallie: Okay. Fucking gold.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Girlz disses Fred and Lethal because after they recorded the song they did together, Lethal went on TV and said that Everlast would whip Em's ass if he ever saw him and Fred concurred. Em says it in the song. And he sounds pissed as hell about it too. I haven't heard all of 50 Cent's album, but in Street Wars 50 screams about how he's talking shit when his album drops. Any song dissing Ja Rule, I like.

Guest Memoirs of an Invisible Chevy Report post Posted June 20, 2003 2nd Round K.O by Canibus w. Mike Tyson Dissing LL Greatest.Diss.Ever
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 20, 2003 My choice would be the DJ Green Latern Invasion Part 2 mixtape which attacks Ja Rule. The tracks "Hail Mary" by 50 cent & Eminem & Busta Rhymes and the "We All Die 1 Day" by DJ Muggs, Eminem, 50 Cent, gggggggggggggg Unit, are the best songs on the album. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I have both of those songs, raza. I think with all the songs listed, I'm now off to make a diss mixed album.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 20, 2003 2nd Round K.O by Canibus w. Mike Tyson Dissing LL Greatest.Diss.Ever I totally forgot about that one. Excellent dis and showed why Canibus is one of the top MC's, but unfortunate because if he had good producers he'd have more mainstream exposure. I forgot about these past dis records No Vaseline by Ice Cube (dissing NWA) A message to Benedict Arnold by NWA (dissing Ice Cube) Kings of the Hill by West Side Connection (dissing Cypress Hill) No rest for the Wicked by Cypress Hill (dissing Ice Cube)
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted June 20, 2003 ICP's "Slim Anus", while not particularly creative, is pretty damn funny. My all time favorite has to be "No Vaseline."
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I have both of those songs, raza. I think with all the songs listed, I'm now off to make a diss mixed album. The album as a whole is really good especially the freestyle tracks and "Keep Talking" "Patiently Waiting" both by 50 Cent and Eminem. DJ Quick attacking MC Eiht in "Dollars & Sense" or is it $ & cents either way its a good diss song from the Murder Was the Case album from Death Row.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2003 to go really old school, LL Cool J did a song on his first album "Radio" called Dear Yvette, about a year later a girl rapper called E-Vette came back with a diss on him. that was 1985-86.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 20, 2003 How about Slim Anus by ICP? "Hi, kids do you like Anus? I let Dr. Dre fill up my BUTT for one chance to be famous (Uh huh)" Edit: Got Here Late
Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Am I the only one who doesn't like "Hail Mary 2003"? I mean except for Busta's part, it's basically 50 and Em trying to copy 'Pac, down to his rhyme scheme and everything

Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 20, 2003 While you are right about 50 and Em doing Pac's style in the song, I don't feel it hurts the record. I don't think Busta could pull the Pac style rap that Em and 50 were doing without sounding whack. Plus it's dissing Ja Rule, so it gets a pass.
Guest Kibagami Report post Posted June 20, 2003 "Ether" is definitely my favorite of the tracks mentioned so far. "Takeover" was good, very good, but "Ether" just comes off as a little bit better -- sums up my opinion of Jay-Z and Nas, respectively. K.
Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Yeah, but Busta is the only original part of the song. And I have to throw out "Acknowledgement" by Masta Ace (dissing Boogieman). You can just feel the venom flowing in that song. Get it, and anything else from the Album Disposable Arts
Guest Kibagami Report post Posted June 20, 2003 2nd Round K.O by Canibus w. Mike Tyson Dissing LL Greatest.Diss.Ever "2nd Round K.O." was good; "Return of Jack the Ripper" was better, though. And Canibus fell off the mainstream's radar after it was released. "Rip the Jacker" wasn't an especially compelling response, anyway, so no great loss there. K. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Eminem f. D-12 - "Quitter" is a good Everlast diss, although the D-12 part doesn't really appeal to me.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted June 20, 2003 As much as I hate Feminem, I have to admit that Detroit Grammar gave me one big bellylaugh: "Forget a chorus, and my metaphors are so complicated it takes six minutes to get appluse."
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I'm going to second "No Vaseline." Ice Cube is a golden god. I also have a soft spot for "Takeover," just because it calls out everyone and has the amazing "All the rest of y'all cats throwin' shots at Jigga/You only get half a bar--fuck y'all niggas." OUCH. Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted June 20, 2003 As much as I hate Feminem, I have to admit that Detroit Grammar gave me one big bellylaugh: "Forget a chorus, and my metaphors are so complicated it takes six minutes to get appluse." Don't wanna come off wrong, b/c I haven't heard that song, but he used that line in 1999's "Nuttin to Do". Em loves to repeat himself I found

Guest Still Fly Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I liked Loose Change by Ja Rule. It was better than Hail Mary 2003. 50 Cent sure likes to contradict himself by using 2pac songs and singing on his songs. He does the same things he grills Ja Rule for. Everyone hs so much hate for Ja Rule, they fail to realize that 50 Cent is a hypocrite. He says Ja Rule sings on his records and does love songs. 50 sings on half of his album. He alsodid 21 questions. (yes, i like Ja Rule, and this whole Murder Inc/Aftermath fued is the gheyest fued of all time, Busta Rhymes verse in Hail Mary is also ghey) Well my favorite diss tracks: Dollaz and Sense by DJ Quik No Vaseline-Ice Cube Cowards in Compton-Luke Fuck Compton- Tim Dog Step To Me- Tim Dog Hit em Up-2Pac Toss it Up-2Pac Ether-Nas South Bronx- Boogie Down Productions Bitch in You- Common Sense Calling out Names- Kurupt Weakest disses IMO Back Down-50 Cent The Takeover- Jay-Z Super Ugly- Jay-Z Fuck wit Dre Day- Dr. Dre

Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I forgot about Pimp Slapped, I like that one a lot. I like it more for the beat than the actual dis, although the dis is pretty good too.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Of the current stuff, Eminem's first two replies to Benzino (The Sauce and Nail In The Coffin) are my favorites.
Guest Angel_Grace_Blue Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I'd have to agree with the DJ Green Lantern comments. Some of my fav. lines from that: Hailie: "Daddy, is Ja Rule taller than me?" Em: "Nah, y'all are the same height." And on the song "What Goes Around" DJ Envy (I think) "Ashanti's sideburns are thicker than mine." Made me chuckle, to say the least. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Hailie: "Daddy, is Ja Rule taller than me?" Em: "Nah, y'all are the same height." That line is gold. It made me cracking up. It sucks that Eminem barely even raps in the whole song, though.
