Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 20, 2003 It hasn't been widely reported yet, but apparently the Bulls' Jay Williams slammed his Yamaha into a light post last night and broke his leg and also suffered some kind of serious pelvis injuries. Bulls haven't said anything more than that, but apparently this is career threatining.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 20, 2003 He had a career? I hope the guy is ok but to say that his brief stint in the league has been disappointing would be an understatement.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 20, 2003 He screwed the bulls royally. They were going to trade him and now they wont be able to. Plus it completely screws up their draft.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I hope they get TJ Ford, so the Clips won't get another bust.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 20, 2003 First of all let's just he's ok before we go into this whole "He wasn't that good" "HA-HA" mode that our idiotic minds tend to drift into... However, what a misleading title thread "ruins life"...Made me think he commited suicide.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 20, 2003 nah, if he killed himself I would have said "ends life" anyway, he had a 4 hour surgery this morning and there might be more coming.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I thought you were talking about JaYson Williams, that Power Forward who used to be pretty damned good before he was charged with murder. Or maybe that white guy Jason Williams, who said that he "wished he spent more time on his jump shot rather than learning how to read and write". God Bless 'em. Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 20, 2003 yEP....He was once JASON Williams but changed his name because of Name Identiy Crisis...
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 20, 2003 What ever happened to the case with Jason Williams (the dude who killed his driver) ? Is he on trial yet?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 20, 2003 They settled out of court or something I dunnooo...
Guest cartman Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Worse yet apparently there was a deal set between Chicago and Boston that would send Walker to his hometown team for Williams, Fizer, and another player I cant remember. oh well.
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Yea, Its big news in this area. Well that ruined Bulls draft plans, I think Jay was mostly likely going to get traded on draft day. Not only did he break his leg, he could have broken his pelvis. They should go ahead and get veteran PG that will accept being a backup to Crawford. But, hopefully he'll make a comeback. Guest alkeiper Report post Posted June 20, 2003 That's a terrible trade for the Bulls.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I'm banking Chi Town either drafts Ford like Idiots or they go for Payton...
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 21, 2003 The Bulls are now (supposedly) thinking about staying put and taking Wade. And if we were really going to trade Jay for Walker, perhaps there is a silver lining here after all.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 21, 2003 Toine is the heart and soul of the C's. They won't trade him.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 21, 2003 Don't jump on the Bulls drafting TJ Ford at 7th bandwagon just yet. Word is the Heat are interested in taking Ford with the 5th. Also, the Celts should look to move Walker. He is a fucking lazy ass power forward (albeit a skilled one) who is in love with the 3 point line and not the paint. He shows flashes of actually occupying the paint when he occasionally gets double figure boards, but he should be traded if the Celts hope to go anywhere. Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 21, 2003 If you look at the celtics homepage on ESPN.com, they have an article about Walker hiring Jordan's old trainer to help him slim down for the summer.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 21, 2003 It's about time he did something of the sort. He still needs to drop that nasty habit of attempting too many 3's. He has a very good post game, it's too bad I haven't seen it in about 2 years.
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted June 21, 2003 I had heard another deal involving the Bulls trading Williams and their pick to the L.A. Clippers for Corey Maggette. Last I heard on Williams, he had gone through surgery but no word yet on how this will affect his career. And I remember "White Chocolate" Jason Williams getting in hot water for telling some Asian fan he would kick his ass "like the US did to Vietnam". I can't remember the exact situation, only that it got brought up on the Jim Rome show. I think he was still with the Kings at the time.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 21, 2003 The Knicks also had interest in moving up to draft TJ Ford.

We do not need Jay Williams running the Clips into the ground. We can do that ourselves.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 21, 2003 eh, Jay Williams ain't running anybody anywhere anytime soon. And how in the name of all that's holy does 7th pick + last year's 2nd pick = Corey Maggette??!?!
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2003 I'd hate to see Antwone leave Boston because I feel that they've really built something they need to piece together. I hated the Anderson for Baker trade, as Baker has been worthless since Milwaukee. Anderson was still pretty solid. The Celtics need to hold on to Antwone, Pierce and O'Brein, along with most of the team and just get a solid big man. Battie seems to be developing, but if they can get someone a little more. I still think Pitino screwed the Celtics over, but oh well... didn't agree much with what Pitino did there. Great for college ball, not for pros. As for Jay Williams, the first thing that came to my mind was Bobby Hurley. Hurley had an auto accident I believe before he even set foot in the league and it really affected what may have been a promising career. Strange coincidence is that both are from Duke. Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted June 24, 2003 Williams is officially out for the entire 2003-04 season. It still remains to be seen if he will be able to resume playing basketball. And I'm hearing that the guy wasn't wearing a helmet when he was riding. He should consider himself lucky that it was just his leg that got messed up. Guest starvenger Report post Posted June 24, 2003 The Knicks also had interest in moving up to draft TJ Ford. Yeah, I think there was a rumour about them trading Sprewell and their pick to Toronto for JYD, someone else and the 4th. But now with the Bulls losing Williams I wouldn't be surprised to see them try and move up to 4th...
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 24, 2003 Bulls don't need another rookie PG, they already have Crawford(who's better). They need a veteran PG through Free agency.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 24, 2003 I heard he did not even have a license to ride a motor cycle and he never had any lessons. He also has a history of speeding which are all ingredients for trouble, especially without a helmet.
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 24, 2003 Nope, he didn't have a motorcycle license, and he had two other traffic violations.
