Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Article Im actually really looking forward to this. I was skeptical of the awesome trailer for the movie because I didn't think Disney would go as far as to release a movie with a PG-13 rating, and it would suffer because of having to be edited and all to fit a PG rating. Good move on Disney's part... Although "Pirates" is the first PG-13 movie for Disney Pictures, it won't be the last. On Thanksgiving weekend, Disney will release a movie version of another theme park attraction, "The Haunted Mansion." I wonder how'll they do a Space Mountain movie?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Down and Out in Beverly Hills was R-rated, and made by Disney.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 If you read the article, you'll find that's not true. PotC is the first movie released directly by Disney to get a PG-13. Until now, the studio has released its PG-13- and R-rated films under the "mature-theme" banner of its Touchstone Pictures, launched in 1984 with "Splash," a sexy, romantic comedy starring Daryl Hannah. Disney also owns Miramax Films, known for its often provocative and celebrated adult-oriented movies.
Guest Renegade Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Wasnt pulp fiction related to disney in some way?
Guest Karnage Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Wasnt pulp fiction related to disney in some way? Yeah, Miramax.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Remember The Jerky Boys? Yup. Disney. I want to see Pirates of Caribbean, btw.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 but I think he is talking about movies made by DISNEY ... not Touchstone, Miramax, or any subdivision of Disney. It will be the first with Disney's name on it. "The Black Cauldron" was the first animated Disney film to get a PG rating...and all the others are simply G ... and all live action Disney movies were either G or PG... This seems to be a big jump for Disney, by putting out a PG-13 movie underneath it's name...but what when you think PotC...you think Disney...so it would have been implied anyway.
Guest HHH123007 Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Did anyone really expect PotC to be PG?
Guest Spicy McHaggis Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I wonder how'll they do a Space Mountain movie? Ric Flair's adult film debut, baby!
Guest Lil Naitch Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I wonder how'll they do a Space Mountain movie? Ric Flair's adult film debut, baby! Damn, Spicy. Beat me to it.
Guest Razor Roman Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I wonder how'll they do a Space Mountain movie? Maybe they'll do a "Splash Mountain" movie. Oh wait... they already did. And I'm not allowed to see it because it might offend someone.
Guest Karnage Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I wonder how'll they do a Space Mountain movie? Ric Flair's adult film debut, baby! It's the oldest ride, but still gets the longest line!
Guest El Satanico Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I find it hard to believe that Disney has never released a PG-13 movie, but I can't argue with facts.
