Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Well, I've been on a shitload of movie chatrooms today, and one of the recurring rumors is that WB and Jon Peters in particular are trying to push Ashton Kutcher as Batman. Their thinking is that since he's young, he could do 4 or 5 films for them. Fuck, at this point... the hobo who asks Jon Peters for quaters could be in the running for Batman. Jon, JUST LET NOLAN MAKE HIS DAMN BATMAN MOVIE.
The Dames Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I HATE Jon Peters. He will singlehandedly ruin the Superman franchise. Dames
Guest razazteca Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Which Batman movie was Ashton going to be in?
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Which Batman movie was Ashton going to be in? The upcoming one. The one Chris Nolan has signed to direct for and David Goyer is touching up the script on. Its said to be called: "Batman: The Frightening" it'll feature The Scarecrow and go off the existing continuity but be radically different in tone from the last 4.
Guest Choken One Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Ashton Kutcher...Good for Sitcoms and Hidden Camera shows and Hollywood Social Functions... BAD BAD BAD for Batman... Just get some Big Strong Guy who can act...And I dont mean Vin Diesel... You dont need a "NAME" to play Batman... Look at McGwire and Spiderman...
Guest razazteca Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 If it is following the last movie in the series then how are they going to explain the 20 something actor playing Batman now, when the last actor was in his mid 30-early 40s in the last movie?
Guest Razor Roman Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Jon Peters has made money for people in the past. That's all the studios care about. Any Batman movie will likely do $200 mil minimum, good or not, so it will get made. We will all seeit, and we will agree that it will suck. If only we could get everyone to not see bad movies.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 That'd ridulous. I'm laughing right now just picturing Ashton Kutcher as Batman. I think, really, you'd have to compromise Batman's height and muscle developement to get the best performance. I haven't seen anyone in any movie ever who was the right size, had the right look, and could act.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 It's being reported that Warner Brothers wants flash in the pan of the moment Ashton Kucher to play Batman instead of Nolan's original choice, Guy Pierce. My question: when exactly did Ashton Kucher become famous? And when will it end? ps - check my sweet spelling in the thread title. bong.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Guy Pierce would be great, but I'm partial to Memento. I trust Nolen though. Batman 5: Dude Where's My Batmobile
Guest Choken One Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 So whose playing the other roles... Anyone can play scarecrow...
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Ashton has the build to play Scarecrow. Whether he can play a serious role is yet to be determined, though.
Guest The Metal Maniac Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 *bonk* You hear that? THAT WAS THE SOUND OF MY JAW HITTING THE FUCKING FLOOR. I mean, it's Batman. BATMAN. The epitome of fucking badass. And this guy wants him to be played by A SKEEVY STONER? Honestly, I have no other way to describe him. That's ALL I've EVER seen him do. I would NEVER be able to take a Batman movie seriously with that schmuck in it. I mean, hell, at least Keanu Reeves had a few years to stop being a stoner so he could work on being more badass. On the plus side, if this goes through, it means that every existing Batman movie will be bumped up a notch on the "Best Batman Movies" list....
Guest Eagan469 Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 fuck Ashton Kucher and his 15 minutes of fame...
Guest Downhome Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Whoever plays the character, it will be a no-name actor. The latest that I've heard from Nolan, is that he really wants a new actor to play the part, instead of someone who is already famous, in order to make it so you can REALLY feel that the character is Batman.
Guest Nevermortal Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I thought that Aronofsky was going to be directing a Batman movie?
Guest Eagan469 Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 *starts the "BAKULA FOR BATMAN!" campaign*
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 There's already a topic about this.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 If it is following the last movie in the series then how are they going to explain the 20 something actor playing Batman now, when the last actor was in his mid 30-early 40s in the last movie? Why do they need to? James Bond doesn't.
Guest Choken One Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Ashton has the build to play Scarecrow. Whether he can play a serious role is yet to be determined, though. Isn't Scarecrow pretty easy to cast? Get a Skinny guy who can take bumps...
Guest Vyce Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Well, damn. I was rather hoping to see the latest Batman flick, should it get made. But now, eh, why bother. You know, I'm sure that Ashton is a really nice guy in RL, but frankly, I prostrate myself before the Lord every single time I see this guy's face on the TV and ask the Creator, why the fuck did you give this schmuck a career?

Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I hope to god this doesn't happen. The Batman comic book is getting really good now with Jim Lee on board and to put a putz like Kutcher in the lead would ruin it completely.
Guest Tony149 Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I thought Peters was only connect to Superman movie (which will never get made as long he's onboard; if it does it'll probably suck). Did he somehow get stroke back into the Batman franchise? I've seen some people on other forums bring up the whole Keaton outcry in the '80s, but at least Keaton had talent.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Two threads working together as one! Thier power is limitless! When Nevermortal said he had heard about Aronofsky directing a Batman movie, that reminded me that I heard it also. Did the studio just pick Nolen over him or what?
Guest El Satanico Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 When Nevermortal said he had heard about Aronofsky directing a Batman movie, that reminded me that I heard it also. Did the studio just pick Nolen over him or what? I believe he took himself off the project because of other commitments.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Weren't there two seperate Bats movies in the works? A scarecrow movie and a year one movie. Aronofsky was set to direct Year One I believe. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
