BTW what ***** matches are that DVD? None to my count.

Ummm you don't think the ladder match was *****? Ummm ooookaaay. You could definently make some arguments for Hell in the Cell and Mind Games as ***** as well and probably would even get a few people to say the Iron Man match was *****. The match with Diesel was excellent as well and definently Nash's best match ever. Also the AWA tag match, if its the one I'm thinking of, has to be seen to be believed. Not ***** mind you but let's just say Shawn WAS wearing white tights when the match started.

The only match on this DVD anywhere near ***** is HIAC.

Ladder is ****1/4 TOPS. Bret/Nash at SS95 is better than the HBK/Nash match. The Foley match is good but available on a better DVD. Ironman is half/half. Half of it is like ** the second half is like ****3/4. Totals to like ***3/4.

If the AWA match is the one I think it is(same one as you probably) then it is the blood bath which I've seen but don't have, still not *****.

But I might get this DVD just to laugh at the "I lost my smile" speech over and over again.

And the ladder match is EXTREMELY dated and does not hold up at all when compared to even Rock/HHH. HIAC is still the best(or second best) cage match in WWF/E history.

Rock v. HHH?! That match is overrated! The ladder match was the start of the highflying style again in the WWF, and the HIAC was an extended squash with a bullshit ending.

Without Shawn's outstanding performance in Hell In A Cell 1 that match wouldn't be what it is today. The match being somewhat a squash, Michaels still got in a decent amount of offense considering, makes perfect sense given the storyline going in to the match.

The first ladder match is not outdated unless you think big bumps with no point is what wrestling should be. The first ladder match with Ramon is still the best one they have ever had and Michaels performance in that match is one of the top 5 one man performances ever . Of course Razor still does one hell of a job in it. However thought the HHH/Rock Ladder match was better than this one is a fucking moron in my opinion.

A match I would have liked to of seen on here but no they would never use is the phantom tag title switch between The Rockers vs Hart Foundation. I have heard this match was really good and that ending would be something worth seeing. I would have also liked to of seen them put a match or two from their tours of japan as he had some pretty good matches over there with the Hart Foundation as well.

WWE should've put the HBK vs. Bret Hart match from Survivor Series 1992 on the DVD. This is one of my favorite and underrated matches of all time, IMO.

Shawn lost the ladder match at Wrestlmenia 10 and its on the DVD so I don't think he had a problem w/ losing a match on his own DVD.

First off I don't consider HHH/Rock overrated and I don't consider it better. I was just using an example.

Summerslam 95 is better, Benoit/Jericho is better. Summerslam 1995, if you overlook the ending, is miles ahead of WM10 with better psychology, better bumps and a better performance from Razor.

HIAC is better than all of those and in context of the match and the angle the squash what it should've been. Watch Groudn Zero then HIAC. You'll see why it was a squash.

What does the WM10 have then aside from bumps(which were Holy Shit at the time but not now)? What psychology does it employ? What story is told that isn't told in every single other ladder match done? Yah it's a great match and at the time was unbelievable and it does not hold up well. If you argue Summerslam 1995 as the WWF's best ladder match ever I would maybe agree but not WM10.

Top 5 one man performances ever? Not even close.

I think you've forgotten that although he lost that match, he lost it to a fellow Cliq member.

Summerslam 1992 had no bearing on the career of Shawn Michaels.

If you look at every match on this disc, it has some innovative concept or impact on Shawn's career.

Posted

Dissapointing, You would think WWE could have made a 6 disc box set on all the good HBK matches out there.

Matches I think should have been included:

1. Vs Brainbusters - Any

2. Vs. Flair - 1991

3. Vs. Mr Perfect - March to Wrestlemania 7

4. Vs. Jannetty - ANY

5. Vs. Jarrett - IYH

6. Vs. Owen - IYH Feb 96

7. The Action Zone Tag

8. Vs. Vader - Summerslam 96

9. Summerslam 95 Ladder Match

10. Any WWF Rockers Tag Match

But No,they put a bunch of matches that are already on DVDs.

Oh well, I'll still buy it.. but I thought it'd be more.

Hmm if we're goint to have 8 matches on there then I 'd take (I'm having an extra match as I'm only showing highlights of Mania 12)

The debut match (may as well)

Shawn Vs Jannetty (nice to have a rarity on there)

Shawn Vs Jarrett (again not that easy to get)

Shawn/Austin Vs Davey/Owen (classic rarity)

Shawn Vs Diesel (yep I agree with this one)

Shawn Vs Sid (suvivors, showcases Shawn's ability to carry a big man)

Shawn Vs Jericho (you need something recent)

and stick both Shawn/Razor ladder matches on there too

I've left HIAC and Mind games off there as they're already available in DVD form

You wasted a spot by giving two ladder matches on there...You only need one to establish what they are doing "Setting the bar"...

get rid of one (personal preference is WMXX to keep)

Throw in a Classic Rocker Match

Either Against Orient Express RR91, Haku/Barbarian WM7, Brain Busters (Superstars)

or rather a TRUE rarity...

Flair/HBK Invasion 1992.

I think it looks great. We can't get the Foley DVD here anymore, so I will certainly buy it in a month when we get it.

Sure the Michaels DVD might not have YOUR favorite match, but it is essentially a compilation of the things that make Michaels one of the greatest. Like him or not, Michaels is one of the most prolific WWE wrestlers ever, so this DVD of course is going to feature his "best". The AWA of course is for an early look at him, but the rest are all, for the most part famous matches. Not every fan has a huge tape collection, not every fan has seen all these matches, not every fan is a smark. Personally, I can not wait til Tuesday to get this because, even though I have seen a handful of these matches at some point over the last 10 years, this DVD is the ultimate Michaels experience. It is for every fan, a compendium of Michaels' illustrious career. The WWE DVDs keep getting better and better, so perhaps, either a sequel to this DVD or a whole new DVD based on something else will feature the matches you all pine for. Until then, buy it or not buy it, but if you do, sit back and enjoy a presentation of one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

And no, I do not work for the WWE ;)

Hmmm...that's disappointing, I thought it would be like the Hogan DVD with tons more matches included.

3 of the 7 matches are already readily avaliable on DVD and 2 more we've all seen billions of times anyway. That leaves 2 "hard to find" matches. The extra stuff is mostly promo spots, which is nice but not really substantial. O well, Im still getting it.

I'm just a little disappointed with the lack of Rockers matches on there. EX:Any Busters match, RR91 vs. Express, WM7, vs. Harts..... The matches on the DVD are all good but we have seen them thousands of times. For example, on the Hogan DVD, there are many matches that we've seen hundreds of times but to accomidate this, there are also tons of matches that are Rare or matches that the casual fan has never seen before.

On the Shawn DVD, There are the matches we've seen before and there are few ones that the casual fan has never seen. Like the Sk's review's of the NWO, Rey Dvd, This is good but it could have been SOOOOO much better with the amount of footage they have.

The only reason why I'm tempted to get this DVD is for the AWA Rockers/Rose & Somers match. The WWF stuff has been seen so many times it's lost it's luster.

Come on, Vince. More oldschool stuff.
