mlw hybrid hell results june 20th ft lauderdale

 

Jerry Lynn defeated Kid Romeo in a botched-spot-fest of a match that saw the continuation of the daniels/lynn angle... lots of you fucked up chants during this one... lynn delivered a great shoot promo before the match talking alot of trash about RVD and how the fans backed the wrong person in their feud... good promo, weak contest

 

The SATs defeated The Samoan Gangster Tribe in a short but very entertaining match... after the samoans lost they hit themselves in the head with a chair repeatedly... odd, but funny...

 

Homicide defeated Michael Shane in a show stealer of a match... definitely match of the night... i hope they play it on tv... crowd shouted CRACK WHORE at francine, very funny... shane looks like a buff matt hardy

 

CW Anderson & Simon Diamond defeated Steve Williams & D`Lo Brown... yes you read that right, D`Lo fucking Brown and Dr. Death... on a team... odd night indeed... halfway decent match... williams gave a promo before the match, and sounded like he was dying in the ring (very hoarse voice)... Anderson looked great out there...

 

Christopher Daniels defeated Billy Fives... after i saw daniels hit his OWN head into the top turnbuckle (and sell it) i went to the concession stand... HORRIBLE match, absolutely horrible

 

CM Punk defeated Raven... Punk looked decent in this match... michael shane came out to help out punk which was odd... then, norman smiley came out for the save, and he and raven challenged punk and shane for a tag match at either the orlando or the tampa show they didnt specify... odd to see raven lose to his own evenflow... well booked match by all means

 

Sabu defeated MIKEY WHIPWRECK... yes you read that one correct to... mikey came out to la parkas music in la parkas mask... it was obvious something wasnt right, and when he took off the mask, the crowd popped huge and out came james vanderburg... mid match a whistle shoots thru the crowd, and bill alfonso comes out... crowd popped huge for that... then daniels and lynn came out to double team sabu, apparently unifying themselves with vanderburg and whipwreck... a very cool demonic type stable has been formed tonight and im damned excited to see where they take this storyline next...

 

Mike Awesome defeated Satoshi Kojima for the MLW World Title after an Awesomebomb thru a table... the crowd was so pissed mike won the belt, lost of BS chants... after the match cornio came out and cut a promo how mike said hed give him a shot anytime anywhere once he had the belt... corino says how about now and decks him...

 

Steve Corino defeated Mike Awesome for the MLW Word Title in an impromptu match... simon and CW`s interference played a huge role in corinos win tonight... the crowd was just happy mike awesome didnt get to leave the arena with the belt...

 

**Other notes:

Norman Smiley versus Kenzo Suzuki (sp?) and Terry Funk versus Steve Cornio (nontitle barbedwire)

 

i forget the finishes to these two but im pretty sure kenzo went over norman and funk went over corino... crowd was very pissed the last match was non title...

 

norman smiley was so over with the crowd it was ridiculous... everytime he wiggled the crowd went insane...

 

the appearances of bill alfonzo, d-lo brown, and mikey whipwreck were all huge suprises to those in attendance considering none of them were advertised...

 

the arena was full but emptied to about half because it took them an hour to set up the barbwire... great show all in all

Notes from event:

 

Simply Lucious came out to ring side to watch Raven and CM Punk.

 

After the barbed wire match, Diamond and Anderson were beating on Funk. Steve Willaims came out to help but was beat down. Sandman made his debut in MLW and saved Williams and Funk.

 

Bill Alfonso damn near killed himself when he tossed cold water into the over head lights. One of the bulbs exploded and rained broken glass all over himself and Sabu. Alfonso sustained a laceration on the scalp. Sabu seemed ok.

 

Michael Shane helped CM Punk get the win over Raven.

 

La Parka came out and did his routine in the entry way. The sinister minister snuck up behind him and removed his mask revealing Mickey Whipwreck.

I am shocked by this. Is Kojima never coming back or something? First off I can't understand why he would lose, 2nd I can't understand hot shotting it to Corino, especially considering his legal situation.

 

This hurts my head.

This whole show sounds like one big cluster. Why Corino with the legal situation. Why even to Awesome? Why does it take an hour to set up the barbed wire and what could have prevented that? Why Kid Romeo? Why was Fives/Daniels bad?

Doesn't sound like one of their best shows, but I'll definitely be watching Homicide vs. Michael Shane, Raven vs. C.M. Punk, and Sabu vs. Mikey Whipwreck. Sucks that Paul London wasn't able to attend.

Sounds like a better show than WWE has been putting on lately. I just started getting the network to watch this show last week. Does MLW show matches from the marquee shows on the weekly syndicated match like ECW does? I hope so. I want to see La Mikey~!
