Brute Force selling like crazy...

Microsoft has announced that Brute Force has become the fast selling game in the Xbox library to date, beating out even Halo in its first week of sales. It also had the largest first day sell-through (copies of the game actually being sold at the stores as opposed to just being shipped) of any Xbox game at the retail outlet known as GameStop. Brute Force lets players control a team of up to three characters, each of which has varying abilities and specialties that make them useful in certain combat situations.

Yeah, had the choice of this and Midtown Madness 3 in Blockbuster today. Went with the racing game.

I got the Blockbuster Freedom Pass card three days ago. Rented MM3, returned it the next day for Brute Force...which I then returned the same day for Sonic Adventure DX. So far it's the winner with 1 1/2 days. Thinking about returning it soon though

Brute Force is actually pretty neat. *shrugs* Not my favorite game, but it's a good way to waste time.

So, I shouldn't rent it this week?

I've barely heard anything about it...

I thought Brute Force was pretty cool, could be worse..it could be another cheap ass game featuring old video game characters *coughs* Nintendo, I don't mean to say the games suck..but it is getting old to see more Mario, Zelda..etc etc games.

Falls into the same bag as Enter the Matrix.

Not great, but everyone is buying it. 2.5 million copies sold.

No No No

Your nuts to think Brute Force is as bad as Enter the Matrix.

Enter the Matrix is a splendid game.

Enter the Matrix was good enough. It did have its problems, but it was a fun rental nonetheless.

Excuse me, WTF is the Blockbuster Freedom Pass? I work at Blockbuster and I haven't a clue what this is.

I know that you are speaking of the US Blockbuster, but still, usually we Canada Blockbusterians get the up and up on what's going on. So WTF is it?

And to remain on topic, I don't care for it. Yet every single day at Blockbuster and at my little gaming store I go to (Microplay) it's always getting rented out, even though the customers tell me "meh, it's not that great, but I'll play it".... ARGH~! STUPID PEOPLE~!

It's a deal that lets you rental games and keep them as long as you want. No due date, and if you don't like it, beat it, get tired of it, etc. you can exchange it for another game. It works something like that. I don't know all the details, though. Basically, you can play a game as long as you want before you decide to buy it.

Isn't that the deal for $19.99?

That is just plain rediculous!

Indeed.

I guess Squaresoft can stop making Final Fantasy, then, huh?

Bungie Software is going to stop making Halo sequels? Please.

A company finds franchise characters, they stay with them. It equals money. Old or not, people will still buy a game simply because it's a franchise game.

Well, when's the last time a Mario or Zelda game was shat on like this? There's a reason those characters are still around today, you know.

Comparing Halo with Final Fanasty is completely unfair, Halo is a (sort of) a new game...and not everybody holds it in the same light as they would, Zelda, Mario or Final Fanasty. Final Fanasty has been around since the NES(Same with Mario and Zelda). There is more than ten different FF games and god knows how many Mario and Zelda games. My problem is NOT with the characters, it's just..I loved each and every one of these characters as a kid when I played NES and SNES, I think it's just time to try and make new franchise games.

I think almost everybody thought Mario Sunshine sucked. Even Miyamoto said the game could have been better if they bothered to give a rat's ass about it.

Wind Waker was awesome up until the ending which was short and lame for as good as the journey was.

With any luck they will.

I think Wuken's point (at least the way I see it) is that there's almost too much of a reliance on sequels..to the point that new games aren't really given attention, money to develop, or a chance by reviewers/gamers.

I'll give you Mario Sunshine, even though I did like it.
