TOP STORY: Mick Foley is back in the Torch Talk. Piss off, Konnan!

Every week, the portion of the newsletter that they put online rotates and different stuff gets included. This first portion of the interview is online, meaning I could put it here if you want, but it's just stuff about his new book. So unless anyone really cares I'll just sum it up as is below. When he gets into more interesting topics, I bet it they don't put it up on the site.

Mick's new book is "Tietam Brown", the heartwarming tale of "a 17 year old who just finished serving 7 years in juvenile detention for killing a teenager who attempted to rape him." Ew.

The novel picks up with Brown as he is attempting to fit back in at his high school in upstate New York. The novel includes flashbacks to his past and focuses on his relationship with his eccentric father. Many traits Foley used to create his characters in his novel were based on pro wrestlers he has interacted with over the years.

The father-son relationship isn't at all based on his own relationship with his dad, or on what he's observed over the years from father-son pairs in wrestling like Shane and Vince or Jerry and Jeff.

Wade: So it isn't the secret story of Shane and Vince McMahon?

Mick: No, but I think that could be a novel in and of itself (laughs). The McMahon family, I could do a thinly veiled biography and it would be a novel that no one would believe.

TOP 5 STORIES OF THE WEEK:

#1 - Triple H pins Nash at Bad Blood. It wasn't a match of the year candidate, but was Nash's best match since half past forever. It actually ended early and caused the PPV to end sooner than normal. It was thought that they just got through everything faster than expected, but then somebody was like "faster? Nash?!?" and everybody giggled. It might have been because Nash got knocked a little loopy towards the end.

#2 - Goldberg was upset with Linda McMahon calling his run "disappointing" in her investor conference call last week. He told people that he was bothered by the comment, but he didn't cause a scene or anything.

#3 - Shawn Michaels was upset with the lack of time his match with Flair got. He had said on Byte This that he was expecting 30-35 minutes, and ended up with 18.

#4 - AJ Styles won the NWA championship from Jeff Jarrett in a 3-way with Raven.

#5 - Longtime WWE producer Dave Sahadi has left the company. He helped with a lot of their classic production work over the years, and was well liked by everyone. He gave his notice, he wasn't fired or anything, but a concrete reason as to why he was leaving wasn't yet known.

WWE NEWS:

- Judgment Day estimates look to actually be almost 200,000 buys higher than Backlash, unless these numbers suddenly tank like Backlash's early figures did. They're hoping that Bad Blood does even better, but there's some concern about the free military offer hurting sales. The offer was meant for returning soldiers from Iraq, but they apparently found out that if someone who had a military ID ordered the show, WWE itself wouldn't be able to tell if that person had really been in Iraq or not. So they changed the ads to stress the "returning" part to scare away people who might try taking advantage.

- Jamal has been canned. He was the one that nobody liked, cause people thought he was cocky and that he didn't protect his opponents. He's been on the bubble since his nightclub arrest a while back. Rosey, who is well liked, is still around. No word on what they'll do with him.

- Not many wrestlers are feeling bad about Goldberg's failure to catch fire. One wrestler said it's clear that Goldberg doesn't care about the boys, the business, or fitting in. When Goldberg got in the face of a pro-Jericho fan after his match, the locker room sentiment was that Bill is a huge baby.

- It was business as usual at Bad Blood. The Smackdown writers weren't there, which some people thought they might be just to help out. Michael Cole and Tazz weren't there, which some people thought they might be because announcers do non-air stuff sometimes. It was truly a brand exclusive show, and there's growing feeling that it really does feel like two groups, as wrestlers are starting to lose touch with people in the opposite brand.

- Mick Foley is his usual self backstage.

- The only match set in "(wet) concrete" for Vengeance is Brock/Angle, but that still may change. Because the angle was that Kurt would challenge the winner of Brock/Show, and there hasn't been a finish in their TV matches yet, it may end up being a 3-way so that the Brock/Angle singles match is saved for later. Hogan/Vince has been announced in local ads for the show, but that's less sure than Brock/Angle.

- Vince is still against any angle that brings back WCW.

- Zach Gowen has handled himself pretty well backstage. There was and is some fear of his being labeled a "Charity" case who doesn't belong. If anything, he may be trying too hard to fit in, but he's not annoying anyone yet. Except for the fact that he's barely got anything on his wrestling resume yet he's in one of the top angles on Smackdown. And that he's a big queer with an earring.

The reason he hasn't been used as a wrestler yet is because management and many wrestlers agree that there might not be much to him beyond that first match. His in-ring shelf life as a credible act is going to be pretty limited for several reasons, such as the fact that there's not a lot of dudes they're gonna want selling for the scrawny one legged kid. Plus, he is disabled, which kinda limits his full-time potential.

- A well-placed source says that Vince has previously expressed interest in buying UFC. He was thinking about buying it before it was sold to Zuffa Entertainment, UFC's current owners, but Vince's advisers were against it because they thought attaching Vince's name to it would ruin whatever small chance UFC has of being accepted by the mainstream media as a legit sport. But Vince is still said to be interested in it, although he'll surely wait until they've gotten more established.

- It looked like Mark Jindrak was gonna join Evolution. But since there's no real "monster" in the group without Batista, now there's talk since Raw that they might go with Kane, who's unmasking would cause him to snap and turn heel. Or OR when Kane takes off the mask, it's actually Kevin Nash!

- Stevie Ray was backstage at Bad Blood. He told WWE.com that he mainly works in Booker's chain of hip-hop stores, and occasionally wrestles for a Christian group. When asked if he was looking to come into WWE or another major group, he said "No chance. Some things, when they're over, they're over." Aw, c'mon Stevie.

- Chris Jericho has been doing the Highlight Reel at house shows instead of wrestling, which is cool for him as he doesn't have to punch any holes in his "bump card" (a phrase from the Hardy book that's gaining worldwide steam). Christian has been getting good heat at the arenas. Some upcoming Smackdown house shows are going to feature Piper's Pit with Vince as the guest.

- Former Talent Relations V.P. JJ Dillon is now out of the wrestling business entirely. He's selling houses in Georgia now, and isn't even working for Jerry Jarrett's construction business anymore.

- William Regal did an interview in the UK and said he thought he may be coming back to TV in a Raw Commish type role, trying to mediate between Austin and Bischoff.

- Jeff Hardy isn't doing indies, but he's making money off eBay by selling his paintings. Fat girls nationwide are buying them up for as much as $1500 each. Wade predicts that now that word is out about Jeff's success, other former wrestling stars will suddenly become artists and try to sell things.

- The NY Athletic Commission drug testing won't impact WWE after all. WWE's in-house policing of wrestlers by requesting they go to rehab, and firing guys like Jeff when they don't, is good enough for the Commission.

- Vince was interviewed for the HBO story on wrestler deaths. It was said to be as hard-hitting as any interview Vince has done.

- Kidman got his hair cut for reasons known only to him. He wasn't asked to, like Test. Back when the Guerreros suddenly got buzz cuts, they didn't check with management either, and it was considered something of a missed opportunity since they might have thrown together a hair match on TV or something.

- Kurt Angle returned to the ring at house shows over the weekend. He looked good and didn't show any signs of being sore, including after his singles match on Smackdown. Although Kurt is said to be like Vince in that, if he was hurt, he'd never let anyone in on it. It's still hard to find anyone with anything bad to say about Kurt. He's good people.

- John Cena is said to be chillin' and shit. When he main evented Backlash, he didn't let it go to his head, and now that he's back down the card he's taking it in stride. He knows he's on a good course and that it won't be all PPV main events for him.

- Nathan Jones was hanging out with the wrestlers at Smackdown in Orlando last week, as that's where he lives. There's no word on when, if at all, Nathan will be brought back to TV. Wrestlers aren't sorry to see him go. They describe him as "different", "creepy", "bizarre", and one guy said Jones had no business in their locker room.

- Roddy Piper is also coming off a little weird. He acts like he did in WCW, meaning he pretty much keeps to himself at all times.

tenacious is as good as the cruiserweights the wwf has now. that statement obviously shows they didn't look at any tapes of his and just snatched him once they had the chance.

OR when Kane takes off the mask, it's actually Kevin Nash!

Someone suggested this on another board, and I dismissed it as being ridiculous and stupid, before I remembered that we're talking about WWE, and The Kliq. Would anyone here put it past Nash to get "revenge" for Glenn Jacobs playing Fake Diesel??? The funny thing will be that MSG will not fall for Kevin Nash dressed up as Kane and they'll be giving it to him as soon as he ambles down the ramp.

Also when Kane is skinnier than usual, tattooed and wearing baggy pants or showing off his nauseatingly skinny legs.

I think it's the guy who posted it on the forums Ed got it from.

Yeah it was sorry about that. Speaking of which at the forum that I got them from they have old newletters from the early 90s talking about WM 6 and what was going on backstage in the NWA. Would you guys want me to post them?

They should have had TZ do SOMETHING by now, there is NO reason to care about this guy or pay attention to him right now.

Wouldn't surprise me if Vince was saving TZ doing some in-ring stuff for MSG next week. He needs to go nuts and bust out that one-legged Shooting Star Press to the outside. The crowd would go mental.

I still think the way they should have brought him in is just have him come out for his first match on either show against some midcarder, hell maybe even Rodney Mack, and before the match starts he takes off his leg and just goes to town busting out moves.

Don't tell me he actually does that.

Is there a clip of that anywhere?

I'm guessing Zach is house show fodder. He'll get a big role revolving around Stephanie for a few months and drop off the universe shortly after.

I've never understood why if someone in the locker room is quiet and keeps to themselves why its such a bad thing.

It's like in T.V. or something where you have the guy that says nothing but has those "Shifty Eyes". Generally this is accompanied by ominous music like "DUN DUN DUUUUUUUNNNN".

Nobody knows what he is thinking, what he is planning. Is he a political threat? Who might be trying to hold down? Who is he close to in the company?

Meh, or not.

What, he can do that?

And WHY is Kidman still employed, again? A Tough Enough kid and a one-legged wrestler can BOTH do the only thing he does that people care about.

My apologies, I got confused. He doesn't hit an SSP, he hits an Asai Moonsault. My bad. Still, a one-legged kid hitting an Asai Moonsault is going to pop MSG. Big. There's no denying that Vince seems to try harder for MSG shows, so I suppose we'll see this week won't we. He did it on TNA, there was a clip of it in the TNA folder back when he did it. Go for a search, it's somewhere about, it's quite something to behold.

Z also does a Shotting Star. I read somewhere that he can do most of the Flippy flop moves that are popular right now.

I want to see Z's one-legged 'Rana personally. It's one of the only moves that he does which wasn't on his Best Of tape that he sent to me.

If you're quiet & keep to yourself, they think you're "too good" for everybody else. Of course, if you're too outgoing, you get heat. If you try to give helpful pointers to the wrong people, you get heat. Pretty much everything short of breathing can possibly get you heat in the WWE lockerroom.

You beat me to it........................

...fucker!

So I'll add this:

HURRICANE: So how was your first day in the locker room?

CADE: Well, our leader's a nightmare. Regal got sick from inhaling his baby-oil fumes, he confiscated every sign with RVD, and then he sent us out because he got his tie caught in the pencil sharpener.

[Randy Orton tries to help HHH get out of it]

[Randy turns the crank; HHH gets pulled in a bit]

ORTON:Oh! Oh, um, OK, um, hmm...um, here.

[turns it some more; HHH gets pulled in more]

D'oh! OK, uh, OK, let's see, um...what if I did this?

[turns it some more; HHH gets pulled in more]

Um...you're on your own. [runs off]
