DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2003 I received an e-mail, allegedly from Best Buy, saying someone has ordered something using my CC #. Funny thing though, I've never given BB by e-mail or CC # for them to who I am or that someone else could be using my #. Is this some sort of scam where I verify who I am by giving out the # and 'proving the other person is a fraud'? I only ask because this e-mail comes a few weeks after I made my very first internet purcahse (but from Amazon).

Guest Marshall Report post Posted June 22, 2003 No online shop or anything like that (paypal) will ever send you an email asking you to log in. I got cought out once but they didn't get any money.
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted June 22, 2003 Yeah, I remember seeing something a few months ago where this guy made a fake PayPal page and scammed people.
