Guest the r-train Report post Posted June 23, 2003 On Velocity, those little teasers telling us of few matches that will be taking place on this Thursday's SmackDown happened to have the word "live" with them. Can this be true, or is this some sort of an evil trick?
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 23, 2003 heh that would suck actually.. Kinda like knowing what to expect on Smackdown, especially during the age of 5 McMahon Segments throughout the show cutting out value Matches.
Guest the r-train Report post Posted June 23, 2003 The only reason I'd really be excited about this is because it's from MSG, and the crowd is sure to be very hot and opinionated. I personally can't wait for the six-man main event with Mr. America, Brock Lesnar, and Kurt Angle, teaming against Team Angle and Big Show.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 23, 2003 No spoilers? No way of telling what unadulterated crap is in store? BOOOO!!
Guest Reverb Report post Posted June 23, 2003 There will be spoilers, the show will in fact be taped on June 24. That's what WWE.com says.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted June 23, 2003 Smackdown is tommorrow night from MSG, so there will be spoilers. Hell, a few of us on the board will be there. We will weed out the unadulterated crap for you - don't worry! niko
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted June 23, 2003 Velocity has been using the "LIVE" tag for a long while, when it comes to the SMACKDOWN previews... ...even though the last LIVE! Smackdown was over a year ago.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2003 The last time I watched Smackdown(the night Team Angle turned on Kurt), I saw a litle graphic which read "LIVE!" at the bottom of the screen. Who do they think they're fooling?
Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted June 23, 2003 I don't really understand what is up with those "Live" graphics for Smackdown. They never used to put that on the screen except for the rare times when SD! actually was live. It wasn't like they would go out of their way to tell you the majority of SDs were taped, but they weren't blatantly bullshitting you about it being live either. I think they started with the "Live" BS on Smackdown when they changed the graphics and music last month. Weird.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted June 23, 2003 I think sometimes we only think of ourselves as the audience. A lot of people think the show is live. If I didn't tell my wife the show was taped, she would never know. I think its a real nitpicky thing...who cares if they say its live or not. Would the show be more enjoyable if they flashed TAPED 2 DAYS AGO on the screen every now and then? niko
Guest D'Lo White Report post Posted June 23, 2003 ...even though the last LIVE! Smackdown was over a year ago. They had a live Smackdown earlier this year. I can't believe you could forget it. It had that great Dawn/Al Wilson wedding. Actually, I remember the show as being one of the worst Smackdown's all year, so its must be a good thing that they don't go live more often. Guest the r-train Report post Posted June 23, 2003 IIRC, that live SmackDown had an insanely long "One and Only" thread.
