Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 After 3 long years of waiting, I found it. I found it by accident, too. This is possibly one of the greatest recent films in b-movie HISTORY. It's title? CITIZEN TOXIE: THE TOXIC AVENGER PART IV Yes, it's now within my grasp. I'm popping it into the DVD player in a few short seconds. Oh, it will be sweet. I also rented Wendigo, which is apparently a great indie horror flick. All I know is that if this is the same Wendigo that I saw an ad for on the tape of Terror Firmer, I will be pleased, as that movie looked fucking cool. I also rented the video game Run Like Hell (PS2). I only rented it because I just returned Evil Dead: Fistful Of Boomstick (PS2), and it reminds me of Alien/Aliens.
Agent_Bond34 Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Run Like Hell has got to be one of THE funniest names for a video game, ever. Wasn't this a movie?
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 Probably, but definitely a different plot. The game is pretty much you're stranded in a space station where aliens have taken over - nasty fuckers too, with lots of teeth and claws - and you have to fight your way out. It comes complete with voicing by LANCE HENRIKSEN~! and the guy that played Biff in Back To The Future. Seriously, the voices in this game are pretty much all by horror/sci-fi b-movie mainstays.
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 Run Like Hell was also a Pink Floyd song. Do they involve the song in the game?
Guest godthedog Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 my rents for the week: wittgenstein flowers of shanghai flesh the ice storm freeway
Guest Crazy Dan Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I rented Old School and the Animatrix. I thought Old School was funny and worth the rental. Definately one of the bette rcomedies I have seen in a while. The Animatrix was a good a rental too, some of it was good, some of it was not so cool, but good over all.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 Seeing as how Run Like Hell takes place in the distant future, and just after an interstellar war...I somehow doubt a popular song from a band from the 1970's would be involved... No.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I read Run Like Hell sucks, since all you do, is ummm, run.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I rented Extreme Fighting 3. I had to go AAAAALL the way over to a Blockbuster 20 minutes away. It cost me 5 bucks. Where's my pat-on-the-back?
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 Tonight was "Cameron Crowe Night" @ my house. I watched: Jerry Maguire Say Anything
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I work at a video store. We get 5 free rentals a week. We also get to choose from advance stuff we get in, so we can tell customers when they come up. This week I picked up: Porky's X2: Wolverine's Revenge for PS2 (got a game this time around) Lone Star State of Mind The Hours (comes out Tuesday, so now) Gangs of New York (released July 1) I saw Porky's for the first time, played a little of Wolverine, slept through most of "The Hours" (had to have it back earliest) and haven't gotten to the others yet. 5 rentals coming up, the new ones in the shipment for sure are "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days", which sadly I've already seen and "The Real Cancun", which I'll probably pick up cause I get everything. Everything else is in the air, although I might get one of the Terminators to see if I want to see the new one this summer, as I've never seen a Terminator movie for some reason. I guess I've never been as open to Action stuff unitl recently...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 YOU'VE NEVER SEEN EITHER OF THE TERMINATOR MOVIES? That, sir, is blasphemous.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I agree wholeheartedly with Agent. SEE BOTH ORIGINAL TERMINATOR MOVIES, BEYOTCH
Guest Zack Malibu Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 So Corey, how'd ya enjoy Toxie 4? The line from God (Hank The Drunken Dwarf) about the Pope had me dying.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Me too, Zack, me too. "And tell him to take off that stupid fucking hat!" Unfortunately, all they had available was the R version, so no excessive-yet-obviously-fake gore for me. **cries** Good movie, though. Once I get enough money, I'm going to Newbury Comics and buying the unrated version. Definitely as good as, if not better than, the original. I like how they got Stan Lee to be the narrator. And Sweetie Honey was funny as hell. And man oh MAN do I wanna do that chubby punk chick that Noxie brought to Toxie's shack... EDIT: Oh, and Wendigo sucked. It was basically an average episode of The Twilight Zone, only doubled in length.
Guest HartFan86 Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 I rented Old School and thought it was fucking hilarious last night. The part with the tranqulizer gun just had been laughing my ass off. I played it over probably 10 times. "Wait....WAAAAIT. What happened?" "DUUUDE...YOU GOT A FUCKING DART IN YOUR NECK"
Guest The Upright Man Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Was Wendigo the one with that kid from Malcom in the Middle? If so, yeah it sucked the ol' mondo meat missile.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Will Farrell is fucking king-sized in Old School - him and Stiffler should have their own buddy movie or sitcom on Fox ASAP.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Yes, Wendigo had that little fucker from Malcolm, the one that plays Dewey. Ugh, PAINFUL...
