I don't want to be black anymore

Hilarious. Somehow I knew Ripper and Ant would hate this superb article. I didn't expect Flyboy to whine about it, though.

A black guy opposes the usual, "Give me everything I want now becuase my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandaddies baby cousin's mom's sister's husband was enslaved over 400 years ago!" viewpoint held by so many "angry black males" with a well written and intelligent article and the black (I assume) posters respond with cursing and anger and thinking the guy is white. I suppose who didn't use enough ebonics to convince you he is a brother. Maybe I should join this guy in line for turning in my Black Club Card.

On a side note, I thought for a moment that Marney was black.

But Marney, their (and mine I suppose) ancestors were enslaved over 400 years ago! Kiss our feet and give us a free ride whenever we need damnit!

I guess I'll just keep to myself that little fact that Africans were the ones making the slave trade possable by selling off their own people to "TEH EVIL WHITE CRACKA MAN~!"

I fail to see how assigning ridiculous stereotypes that are held to by the vast minority of african americans is a "intelligent" artile. I fail to see how how recylcing the thought that most black people think like this is a "superbub" article. I can write a artilce on how Hitler was a pretty cool guy using emaculate english, that doesn't mean the article wouldn't be bullshit. THAT article is bullshit. He basically insults black people by saying we all think like Jesse Jackson or whatever media whore is out to make money, therefore he doesn't want to be associated with the race anymore. If he is black he is a embarrassment. The belief that he isn't black comes from the fact that black people KNOW that the press getters are not representing the whole, or majority of black America. To phrase it as he did, he comes off as a person that not only isn't black, but doesn't know too many blacks at all.

If this was a article about not wanting to be white because [insert every asinine stereotype about whites here] then this guy would be getting called a idiot and dumbass. If this article was about not wanting to be a homosexual because [insert all the stupid stereotypes about homosexuality and relationships here] then it would be called dumb by the person who first posted this page of crap (well articulated crap is crap all the same).

I hope you wouldn't be suprised that I wouldn't like this "superb" article when my race is being catagorized and insulted by a jackass that believes that his character and beliefs must be taken from a money hungry bunch of media whores.

I doubt it. There's only one "e" in "immaculate."

I'm sick of being expected to bash gays and blacks just because I'm white. I'm tired of people thinking it's okay to make fun of gays in front of me just because I'm a "Southern belle." I don't like it when people assume morons like "Dr" Laura, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, or Rush Limbaugh speak for me just because I vote Republican. I don't appreciate attempts to raise the Confederate flag above state capitols. This is America, not the Confederacy. You can honour the South without breaking the law.

I don't want to be white anymore.

I'm sick of gay freaks parading their disgusting fetishes on the street and expecting it to be applauded, accepted, even considered representative of gays across the board. I don't want to see men in black leather thongs hooting and whistling at horrified straight men trying to cross the road, go to the market, go to their jobs, or go to their houses. I don't think little children should have to ask Mummy what those big baskets with "Got Lube?" plastered across the side mean. I don't want to be accosted and propositioned by obese dykes in ridiculous latex costumes. I think "The Vagina Monologues" are stupid. I don't think taxpayers have any obligation whatsoever to fund "gay pride" events and I think Attorney General John Ashcroft was absolutely right to ban anything of the sort from the DOJ. I don't like feminazi lesbians who think making yourself look pretty is the equivalent of indentured servitude. Shaving my legs is not a crime. Keep your sexuality to yourself. It isn't oppression, it's called having a sense of dignity and some goddamn self-respect. People who make spectacles of themselves in public and go out of their way to offend basic decency do not represent me. I quit.

Yeah, really. Get reparations from the Africans, or the Moslems. They're the ones that sold you... oh wait, black Americans have the highest average income of any black people anywhere in the world. And if you were a country, you'd have the 13th biggest GDP in the world. If real Africans paid reparations to black Americans, it might account for 0.01% of your income. If they turned over everything they own.

Back to the drawing board, huh?

Wow...I spelled something wrong on a message board...I must be a idiot. [slaps forehead]

The problem with your writing there...In the first you don't want to be white because of the stereotypes that are placed on you. In the second, you point out that the gays that do that sort of thing are "freaks". The article that you posted makes it as though the stereotypes are true. That all that crap he spews is actually true about black people therefore he no longer wants to be associated with the race.

But whatever. I'm just that weird guy that gets insulted when people [gasp] insult me and my race. Weird.

I sorry, but now I got to go to my weekly "Hate White People meeting" that all black people go to and discuss how we will insult white people next February. Midnight Express and Flyboy, see ya there. Ant...pick up some extra chips. I'll get the dip because JJ was suppose to get it but he's not black anymore, somebody has to take up the slack. Oh wait. I forgot, I'm black. That sentence didn't say "homie" and "Patna" in it. Sorry guys...I was in a rush.

Repartions march in Washington DC (not known for its lack of black people) had 20 people last year. Here is a breaking news story...MOST BLACK PEOPLE DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT, NEVER ASKED FOR, AND NEVER WILL ASK FOR REPARATIONS.

Did you. The first half of the article is he says he is giving up because he can't do what other blacks are supposedly doing. Problem is, outside of a precious few dumbasses, NOBODY thinks like this. He is putting forth the belief that to be black is to think like what he says in the article.

My main problem with that Tom is that black people barely ever agree with these people.

Then how do they maintain a power base? How do they keep getting money to fund their ridiculous crusades, which are nothing but fear and hate-mongering? Someone has to be lining their coffers, and considering their agendas, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's not Whitey.

The problem is, a lot of the attitudes they talk about are common. I can't tell you how many times I was accused of being a racist when I worked in Baltimore because I would tell people something couldn't be done. And it *couldn't* be done; I wasn't making it up. But I'd say something couldn't be done, and get met with, "You just don't like black people" constantly because of it. Whether or not people like Jesse Jackson are representative of blacks in America, the attitudes they've been encouraging for years have taken root. You can't sue your way to social advancement, but that doesn't stop people from trying. Tearing down one group to build another up helps no one in the end, but people want to do that all the time. Equality of opportunity, not results, is protected under law, and every day, people try to stretch that protection to the latter.

I'm sick of hearing about stupid bullshit like that. I'm sick of reading about it. Hell, I'm even sick of talking about it, since no one's opinion ever changes on either side. Whites see themselves as being under attack, and blacks are quick to vilify as an "Uncle Tom" anyone who doesn't click his heels together and regurgitate the Credo of Oppression. It's all so pointless.

JJ Johnson says, in so many words, that the "media-selected Black prostitutes" considered representative of the entire black population embarrass him, that those who follow their mantras embarrass him, and that as a result he doesn't want to be associated with the black people as a whole. There's nothing objectionable in that. As for reparations, a February 2002 USA Today/CNN poll conducted by Gallup established a 57% favourable baseline among blacks, with 35% opposed to payment from corporations. For payment from the federal goverment the figures were 55% and 37%. The 2002 rally mustered approximately 2500-3000 people, not 20.

They line there pockets through thier organizations lawyers taking a percentage of the out of court settlements that they are constantly throwing at people. We all know how damaging a accusation can be, despite its validity or not. NAACP Lawyers make high six figure salaries a year...now think how much guys like Jesse Jackson is putting in his pocket. These guys have the media in their hand and can make it appear that they are powerful. But like I said. Really stop and look around them. There is noone there at the "marches". Black and white america alike are tired of these guys. But as long as the media will shove a camera in their face giving them the only power the truely have (news coverage) they will continue to be there.

Fat kids are suing fast food chains saying that they MADE them fat. People who started smoking 3 years ago are suing tobacco because the MADE them addicted and they had no idea. Robbers are suing people that they tried to rob for beating the shit out of them. This country if full of people trying to sue their way to riches, yet they are all seen as ridiculous outcast...except for Jackson and Sharpton and their types. They are for some reason seen as the representatives for the black race...and the black people will gladly tell you they are full of shit.

I just don't see these black people that are agreeing with all of this.

Oh, but what about the black people who do not follow their "representatives"? Should we not want to be black as well? And since we do not support our so-called "representatives", then it is okay for JJ to still be friends with us?

How about the usefulness of basic arithmetic? Or is 2500-3000 only larger than 20 by a factor of 125-150 according to my racist eurocentric point of view? Did the ancient Africans have a different and more enlightened mathematics that's being held down by the Man?

Wait a minute, I distinctly remember the little protest outside the White House not having more than 20 some odd people and me and my girlfriend at the time laughing at it. Are we talking about the same thing. Are you talking about the march that was specifically for reparations or was it for something else and turned into people asking for free money.

OMG TEH WHOLE THREAD IZ RAYCIST!!!!!~~~!!!~~~!!~~~!!!!!1!!!!1!!!!!! ;)

There is a certain amount of truth in the article though. How can one have true freedom when someone is busy attempting to force them to be outraged at their oppression, past or present? How about just giving them a choice? Eh... I don't know. And my country invented indentured slavery. *sigh*

Ugh. This thread is going to go on with pages and pages of the same bickering. I'll end it:

I'm probably the most "non-black black person" there is. At least for a midteen, that is. But, no matter how different my personality may be from the majority of my race I still would never utter the words "I don't want to be black anymore". If you hate the shit that goes on with your race, fine. It is not like any other race has it any easier. ALL races have problems, ALL races have sterotypes, etc, etc. And it doesn't even have to be a race. It could a group of people (i.e., homosexuals) for that matter. It still does not take anyway the fact that it is not going to be hard. THAT'S LIFE. Not all the states in the US allow gays to get married. That's an obstacle. And, y'know what? They get passed it! (*points to Marney*) No one race has it "easy", and I doubt that there will ever be one that will.

If JJ Johnson does not like the views of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, then so be it. This IS America, y'know. You do not have to be a sheep like most smartmarks are and agree with everything that is spewed from their mouths. Make your own opinion. Then, YOU run for office and get support and spread YOUR word. If you do not agree with them, and that's perfect okay. Hell, I do not even agree with the shit they say. Affirmative action? Fuck that noise. If I wanted to I could into any college I wanted to if I worked hard enough at all, affirmative action or not. Reparations? People make mistakes. Big deal. People also CHANGE. Just because I do not follow the masses and I do not want to hear what they have to say (and I'm tired of hearing them say it), does not mean I do not want to be my race. That's pathetic and asisine.

EDIT: There is nothing "superb" about that article. All Johnson bascially said was that he was tired of having viewpoints that he does not shared 'forced' upon him. How our views "FORCED" upon you? You may get sterotypes from other people, but then show me a race that does not have sterotypes about them.

I think the "I don't want to be black anymore" phrase was hyperbole (I believe that is the word) to express embarassment at the constant whining, bitching, and media whoring many of the black race are guilty of. But what do I know? My opinion doesn't matter. Let me go on back in and clean "Massa's" house like a good Uncle Tom should.

If you are saying that Johnson used "I don't want to be black anymore" to exaggerate his point, then you may be right. But, I could have picked a better way to get my message across than simply 'disowning' my race. "I am tired of this shit" could have worked as well. Maybe not the knockout punch that the previous title had, but it still gets the point across.

You change that "many" with "some" and I agree with you wholeheartedly. It's just that the article in the manner that he wrote it made it seem as if he is a exception because he doesn't follow the bullshit of Sharpton and Jackson and those like him (and really, how many more of these guys can you name...) when in reality he is part of the majority. Most black people just don't pander to that bull they are spewing, and if anything, Sharpton and Jackson hurt the black race.
