Guest George Dawes Report post Posted June 24, 2003 On the Beatles song A day in the life at the end it has John Lennon talking about dying, is there any other songs that you know that have a hiiden meaning or something spooky?
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted June 24, 2003 Anal Cunt's song "I snuck a retard into a sperm bank" is really about the inequitable treatment of the mentally handicapped.

Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 24, 2003 "Disarm" by Smashing Pumpkins and "Brick" by Ben Folds Five are about abortion...
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Report post Posted June 24, 2003 Well, the famous one is Every Breath You Take by The Police, which is actually a "Big Brother" type story song, or so Sting says.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2003 I Will off the new Radiohead album is about the US army hitting a bunker full of civillians in the Gulf War. Every Breath You Take is about stalking isn't it?
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Report post Posted June 24, 2003 I always thought so, but on VH1, Sting said it was based off of 1984. Of course, he could be full of shit, but whatever.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Fiona Apple's "Sullen Girl" is about her rape when she was younger. *shrugs* For awhile I thought it was just a depressing heartbroken song.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 I heard that "I'm Turning Japanese" was about masturbation.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted June 25, 2003 I always thought the Limp Bizkit song Rollin was about weed... just judging by the lyrics, but nobody seems to agree with me.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 25, 2003 john doesn't say anything in "a day in the life" at the end about dying. it's taken from an article he read about there being too many potholes in a road. in the first verse he sings about another article he read, about a kid who died in a car crash, then about his part in the richard lester movie 'how i won the war'. there's really no hidden meaning in the song; it was just, in the words of paul, "a little poetic jumble that sounded nice." now "lucy in the sky with diamonds"...i don't give a shit about how much lennon denied it, that song was about doing acid. it's plain as day. "me and a gun" by tori amos is about rape. although...it's not hard to figure that out when you hear the song. "i'm waiting for the man" by the velvet underground is about looking for a drug dealer. that's all i can think of now.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Report post Posted June 25, 2003 I'm Waiting For The Man isn't really a hidden meaning, though. It's not like there's much else that song could be about.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Dying Fetus's "Kill your mother, rape your dog" is about the way musical artists of any and all genres that don't conform to a certain sound and way of making music get shut out of radio play and exposure. Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Report post Posted June 25, 2003 What about Hotel California? Nobody knows what that song's about.

Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 I always thought that Theatre Of Tragedy - "Machine" was about the whoring of people through technology (ie. big business), but it's allegedly just about a computer.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Growing up religious, I must have heard three times a week that Hotel California was about the church of satan.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 25, 2003 The entire Cradle of Filth album "Cruelty and the Beast" is about a Medieval Countess who slaughtered virgins and bathed in their blood.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Yeah, the Countess Bathory. Awesome concept for an album.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Bathory is also a fine black metal band. I myself did an album once about Eminem being a robot. I know none of you have heard it, but I thought I should contribute something to the topic while I'm posting.
Guest DRAWMUH! Report post Posted June 25, 2003 I thought Hotel California was about rape.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Isn't Hotel California about drug addiction. Roxanne is about a prostitute. Someone told me that Kiss from a Rose is about Cocaine.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Yep...That is correct...Kiss from a Rose is about Cocaine...How that became the theme song for Batman? I have not a clue.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Sk8r Boi by Avril Lavigne is about the eternal struggle of the psyche between the pull of existentialist values and the need for faith in a higher power whilst caught in a post-appocalyptic fascist regime where the Earth is ruled by damn dirty apes. That and not fucking a guy cos your dumb bitch friends think he's a gimp.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 25, 2003 People think "God Called in Sick Today" by AFI is about the lead singer (Davey) coming out of the closet. I don't know where they get that from though. "Kickstart my Heart" by Motley Crue is about Nikki Sixx's 'resurrection' after his Heroin overdose via an adrenaline hot. Guest Ripper Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Just the other day, this guy on the bus was talking about how biggie did "Me and My Bitch" as a rip off of Tupacs "Me and my girlfriend" because he just wanted to do a song about a thug girl too. When I pointed out to him that Me and My Girlfriend was about guns, he just looked at me blankly. So aparently, there are people still out there that had no idea what that song was about. Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 25, 2003 "Wash Away all those years"-Creed seemed to be about Stapp recalling a Rape fo his Wife or His sister (never could tell) but instead it was really about Repent...
