Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted June 25, 2003 WWE rarely ever chooses to acknowledge their past, and when they do we get all excited. So, one of the rare times they do, what do they put on their website? http://www.wwe.com/media/2003/06/25/1227463 Mabel winning the King of the Ring. MABEL! You know, the man who ruined an entire card and tanked a SummerSlam buyrate all by himself. What about the feuds in the past that people currently feuding have had? Or great matches of the past? Nope, King Mabel. Jason

Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted June 25, 2003 I can see it now: Mabel runs in on RAW, setting up the HIGHLY ANTICIPATED Rosey and Mabel tag team, collectively known as "The Femininely Named Fatasses". They'll go on to feud with The Dudleyz.

Then they could do a talk segment in the vein of Piper's Pit, and it would be a ripoff of women's talk shows like Rosie O'Donnell or The View. Mabel of course would take the Star Jones role. Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted June 25, 2003 (edited) The only positive thing that can come out of a Mabel return: watching him slip on beer again. EDIT: changed a slight error. Edited June 25, 2003 by Askewniverse

Guest Nobody in Particular Report post Posted June 26, 2003 The fans aren't much smarter if the poll there is any indication. I mean seriously, who in the blue hell would think that Ken Frickin' Shamrock is the best King of the Ring winner of them all?

That's because they're too busy giving us NEW Mae Young crap to worry about replaying the old stuff.

Only The Strong Survive 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2003 MABEL! You know, the man who ruined an entire card and tanked a SummerSlam buyrate all by himself. Ruined an entire card? Which card are you talking about? I'm sure you're talking about his lovely title match with Diesel at Summerslam '95...
Guest JHawk Report post Posted June 26, 2003 He ruined King of the Ring by wrestling twice AND eliminating the only crowd favorite not named Shawn Michaels. I think that's where he was going with that.

Which card are you talking about? I'm sure you're talking about his lovely title match with Diesel at Summerslam '95... King of the Ring 1995. Sure, it wasn't a great card in and of itself, but if he didn't win and Shawn Michaels did or something like that we could have had 3 HBK matches (which is a good card, like him or not). Instead, we got a Diesel tag main event, 2 Mabel matches, 4 Savio Vega matches, and Vince's big man fetish in full force. 2 Mabel matches is enough to kill oneself. That's what I was talking about with the card comment. Jason

Only The Strong Survive 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2003 Who in the hell decided that Mabel deserved that kind of push anyways? He's like a second-rate Yokozuna...
Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted June 26, 2003 Who in the hell decided that Mabel deserved that kind of push anyways? He's like a second-rate Yokozuna... Well, it isn't as if Kevin Nash has ever deserved a holy push like he's received many times, or Paul Wight, either. But they get them. Unfortunately, there are absolutely no redeeming qualities about Mabel, because at least both of the above have had some good matches in the past. Mabel has had none. Only The Strong Survive 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2003 Well, it isn't as if Kevin Nash has ever deserved a holy push like he's received many times, or Paul Wight, either. But they get them. Personally, I thought Diesel was a pretty cool character, due to the fact that he was really powerful, and was the antithesis to Bret Hart, making their matches pretty interesting by contrasting the new generation and the old generation, and giving lots of longevity to a feud that could have gone stale rather quickly if it had involved anyone else. I have no comment on Paul Wight because he's never been more than wasted potential to me but... Diesel was the original bad-ass to me... then again maybe it was because I was younger at the time and looked up to them like they were gods amongst men.
