Now it's kinda late but I remembered and I have to say I was extremely happy when Goldberg jobbed the crap out of Rodney Mack. What were everyone else's thoughts on jobbing out the Mack?

Like him or not, that was a great way to further Goldberg in WWE, and the fans really loved it. Not only did they get to see a textbook Goldberg "squash", but it ended that White Boy Challenge shit to top it off.

I was shocked at how much MSG loved Goldberg. I thought he'd get a mixed reaction.

It was smart of them to hold off Goldberg until the end of the show- the fans were dying to see him by then.

WWE actually handled Goldberg 100% perfectly for once.

I will step up and say this one thing. Up to that point, I had totally forgotten about Goldberg. Not once throughout the entire show did I even think about him, and had his music not started up and had he not come out, I more than likely wouldn't even have thought twice about it. I was actually shocked when he came out for Mack.

I loved it though, so whatever. :D

They love him every week. Yet, he can't get the crowd to stop booing him and cheering THE BIGGEST HEELS ON RAW when PPV time comes around.

Still useless.

Interesting note-

During the break and when Rodney and Teddy were waiting in the ring- the fans were chanting for Goldberg and just dying to see him. I think everyone really wanted to see his debut at the Garden

Well that's cool enough. I'm so glad they didn't put Goldberg in there for the World Title right off the bat, that would have been a huge mistake, as I've said all along.

Considering that he's been a fucking disaster, it will be a mistake to put him in for the title at all.

I wonder if MSG's love for Goldberg will renew Vince's faith in him?

Oh come on. Vince may be stupid, but he's not going to go ahead with a title run based on ONE ARENA'S reaction.

*Remembers Rock/Hogan I....*

Er...nevermind. Well, with Nash and HHH both on Raw, I think they'll be able to out-dupe Goldie easily. BURY HIM, TRIPS! BURY HIM!

Remember- MSG is the WWE's home.

Edge got booed at Survivor Series and he immeadiately found himself getting depushed into a feud with Albert.

If Goldberg gets a big push based on MSG then maybe Matt Hardy will get one as well

I hate squash matches on principle. And Fuck Goldberg still sucks. There is no right way to use him.

If Goldberg gets a big push based on MSG, I'm moving.*

If they HAVE to push him, I can't WAIT for him to get booed out of the title match at Summerslam. That will make my day.

*Fuck no.

Of course there is! Put him over the whole roster two or three times, have him continue to sell nothing, beat the shit out of the heel eight times a show, and then push him to the top!

Remember SS '02 in the Elimination Chamber when RVD got an insane reaction? That was in MSG. Vince only uses the reaction of the MSG crowd to push/depush someone when it's convienent.

You might wanna start packing those bags now then.........cause i think this may have earned him a title run. And him getting booed out of SummerSlam would be no different then the Rock getting killed by the crowd last year at the same event. Does Rock suck too then cause he got booed?

The rock doesn't have the crowd turn on him at every major PPV, now does he? Only some of them

Backlash, built totally on Goldberg's, where he made the Rock look useless and sold nothing leading up to the PPV, was ordered by eight people.

He's failed.

So, the Rock wasn't booed against Hogan at Wrestlemania, and Lesnar at SummerSlam???? Are you forgetting that the Rock was away most of the time and didnt even compete in most PPV's? Wow, Goldberg didnt get a high buyrate so its his fuckin fault huh? Ok, if thats the argument then name me someone who IS drawing good buyrates these days in WWE

RVD's pop was the same as everyone else (Well except Kane) so I don't think he should've gotten a big pushed based on it.

MSG was the crowd that MADE Brock Lesnar and probably had Vince breathing a sigh of relief that his pet project was over.

The Rock is so great that he can easily adapt to the crowd booing him so it doesn't hurt the match and make him look like an idiot.

The Rock had been a face for 3-4 years going into those shows so it's understandable if he was getting booed.

Goldberg was getting booed THREE weeks into the company.

It is Goldberg's fault that Backlash did not do well. ALL the hype was centred around his "dream" match against Rock and it failed. Why?

Because no one gives a flying fuck about Goldberg to begin with

Yep.

If I can blame Vince and Hulk for no one ordering Wrestlemania, I can blame Goldberg for no one ordering Backlash.

Ok, if thats the argument then name me someone who IS drawing good buyrates these days in WWE

Name someone else that was brought into the company on the sole purpose of improving buytrates.

Uh, it was? I don't remember the crowd booing heavily when Booker T or Kane were eliminated. The crowd was *pissed* when RVD was eliminated.

Ok, so it's Goldberg's fault for BackLash not drawing buyrates, but Rock doesnt get any fault? Was Rock not wrestling in that match also? Do you think it's fair to blame one guy and not blame the other?

Whether he was brought in to bring in better buyrates has nothing to do with it. You're not the one who paid him. If he failed to bring buyrates...and Angle failed...and Lesnar failed......and HHH failed.....Hogan failed......Undertaker failed.....HBk failed......Rock failed.......Steve Austin failed..........then they all failed period. All failed equally. Goldberg didnt fail MORE than the others.

The show wasn't built around Rock's debut.

Besides, they aren't talking about pushing Rock to the top right now.

yeah he did.

Backlash got the worst buyrate of the year. Worse than Nash's Judgment Day, worse than Hogan's No Way Out, worse than Mania and the Rumble(Which did well, IIRC)

When has Kurt Angle been the drawing point of a PPV?

Rock has drawn record breaking buyrates in the past, is an entertaining character, puts over anyone and everyone, and puts on quality matches- so he gets let off the hook.

Goldberg was brought in to help make the company money. He has not done that all. His signing has failed.

None of the other people were signed with the specific intent to provide immediate buyrate increase. Hogan was brought in for X-8 and did not fail in that sense.

Goldberg's signing has been a disaster from a creative and monetary standpoint

I was there- No one cared about Kane because well it's Kane. But Booker and RVD both had the crowd equally pissed when they were eliminated.

The pop that Lesnar got overshadowed everyone

A lot of the blame for the Backlash failure has to go to Vince and the Crack writing staff for the presentation of Goldberg vs Rock. The buildup sucked and they had Rock take the match very non chalantly. If Rock doesn't appear to care about the match, why should the fans?

This problem would have been avoided if they didn't sign Goldberg at all and left the creative staff to attempt to book complicated shit instead of easy shit like a babyface monster.
