Guest G. HOOD Report post Posted June 27, 2003 and to assist Piper from engaging in any self destructive behavior, the WWE is ending any further discussion with Piper regarding a contract. Dat's prolly da worst part right there. It's like a girlfriend tellin you she breakin up wit you for YOUR sake. That's mean right there.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 27, 2003 While Piper looked like a nutjob, McMahon looked like a little bitch who can't handle tough questions and bullies interviewers. He did it to Armen Ketyeian on Real Sports and he did it to Bob Costas. Vince really embarassed himself and the WWE with his shit on the Real Sports interview. He really can't handle the heat in the kitchen. I was embarassed to attempt to defend Vince to my fiancee on Tuesday night. What a jackass.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 27, 2003 What they REALLY should have said was: "Roddy Piper murdered a kitten and pushed an old lady onto a busy street" THAT'S discrediting.

Detective Comics 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 15 bucks to see the house show in Providence this Saturday. I am wondering if Vince is still going to go, even though Piper is gone. Eh, 1 more reason to go, IMO. That's one less useless segment; heck maybe they'll add a match or something.

Guest William E Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Whatever happened to Piper's program in TNA. Did they decide to abort it or did Piper just get picked up by Vince in the middle of it? I have not watched TNA in a while.
Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Piper didn't even say he did drugs now. He said he used to and that wrestlers use them. That is why he got fired.

I have not watched TNA in a while. I think it just got dropped after he sent in a taped promo.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Piper didn't even say he did drugs now. He said he used to and that wrestlers use them. That is why he got fired. So he said he use to do drugs and how wrestlers still use them. But ofcourse since that's against company line they make it seem lik he's currently addicted and needs rehab? And I don't even like Piper. Good ol' WWE.

Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Fuck Vince McMahon for being so petty. Good for Roddy for sticking to his morals and not backing down from junior. Sticking to his guns?! Come the fuck on. I've always been a big Piper fan, but there's no doubt he's a huge hyprocrite. He's been notoriously critical of Vince and WWE and has lamented about how the wrestling business is a destructive business that has led to the senseless deaths of his coworkers, and yet he comes back for another payback. FINE. He's entitled. But he cant have it both ways. He can't go on cable television and lament about the wrestling business and how promoters like Vince have "Screwed up the minds" of wrestlers, and still expect Vince to employ him. Piper tried to have it both ways, and it didn't work. He didn't stick to his guns, he talked out of both sides of his mouth. Vince might have been a total asshole on the show, but he is totally justified in canning Piper. If Piper isn't happy with the wrestling business, Vince should not have to pay him to badmouth his company publicly and had every right to tell him to "get the F out". Guest jester Report post Posted June 27, 2003 The press release says that they were "unable to come to terms" to a deal that would have had Piper with WWE in August. He may have been fired because he wanted too much money, refused an angle where he would have to suck off Hogan, etc. Not necessarily the drug use thing. Though I am sure it didn't help. Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted June 27, 2003 First off, give O'Haire's gimmick to someone who has acting ability and who doesn't suck. There was potential there once, it's gone now, deal with it people. And secondly, good, you went out jobbing to Eddy G, feel special you old washed up useless waste of time. Guest justsoyouknow Report post Posted June 27, 2003 I caught the show today, and Vince looked like the BIGGEST asshole on the face of the earth. I don't know if he was trying to stay in "character" or what, but the way he said that wrestler's early deaths weren't any of his responsibility, and that he wasn't responsible for the behavior of his own wrestlers, was just him being a dick. Then he started to actually berate the interviewer and slapped the guy's clipboard out of his hand while SCREAMING at him. Vince didn't make himself or his company look too good there. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 That probably was Piper's last match. But I put the countdown clock on one month before TNA stupidly pays him to come in and say a whole bunch of things that only make sense to him. I hate Piper

Guest Steviekick Report post Posted June 27, 2003 I have two thoughts on the whole issue... 1...If Piper said these things before he was hired, than there is nothing they really can do about it. It's not like he discredited the company while he was an employee. HBO decided to interview him because they knew that he would say something good. 2...The WWE is horrible at making themselves look redeemable in the public eye, regardless of Piper or not. Vince seems to never be able to come across well in an interview. If he wants to be respected for his business accomplishments, he has to do better than this. Whose going to take the Chairman of the Board of any seriously who comes out on international television, takes his pants off and tells people to kiss his ass. I wish Tom Zenk was still runnign his webpage...i'm sure he'd have something amazing to say about this whole thing.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 I caught the show today, and Vince looked like the BIGGEST asshole on the face of the earth. I don't know if he was trying to stay in "character" or what, but the way he said that wrestler's early deaths weren't any of his responsibility, They're not. Does he honestly think it though, or does he feel guilty and trying to hide it? Ultimately, Vince must feel some guilt for those whose lives were shortened by the pressure he put on them, even if it wasn't his fault.

Gert T 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Sean O'Haire will lose a Carribean Strap Match to Rikishi next week, only to reveal he did it on purpose....... NEVER compare him to Austin. What O'Haire 3:16 doesn't have a good ring to it? Seriously though, I bet it will hardly be mentioned, O'Haire and Piper were done with Eddy & Tajiri after that match anyway, so O'Haire will probably just float around and then attack someone after a match that will really lead to nothing. As for Vince, lets be honest, he's no saint, but when the cameras are rolling he's gets into his full character mode. Is he an ass in real life? Probably, but he knows what he's doing with these interviews.
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted June 27, 2003 If Vince gave an interview like that about his company and he didn't own it, he'd propably be let go like Piper as well. I hope when Shane/Steph take over for him, they've learned to handle the media better
